Q: How often does the filter have to be changed?
A: I started by new winix air purifier last April 5 . Lately the light changes from red .. yellow and blue. What does the color of the light means.??
Q: I put new filters in my cleaner bit the red light still says chane filter !! Wht is this ?
A: You will need to reset the filter indicator. There is a pin hole right next to the light. Use something that goes in the pin hole and hold for 3-5 seconds for the unit to reset!
Q: does this unit help with pet dander
A: Yes, the product helped me with Pet Dander. I have a Husky/Akita Mix and when she sheds hair is everywhere. This causes me to have headaches. The product stopped my headaches.
Q: Do all filters come with the unit or do they have to be bought separately?
A: All filters come with this unit, including extra carbon filters. Eventually the carbon filter and the HEPA filter will have to be purchased.
A: Hello, the unit is sensing particles or odors (vocs) and changing the air quality indicator to red. If the unit is being used in the auto mode, the fan speeds will automatically adjust to clean the air at the best rate.
A: Hello Pat, that means that the air quality in the room has changed. The product is equipped with air quality sensors and indicators. Blue means good air quality, amber mean average air quality and red means poor air quality. Opening windows may bring in impurities and dust and cause the sensors to pick them up!

Q: How does this filter system work with cigarette smoke ?
A: I'm a smoker. Now working from home I've set up an office in the basement. 1700 square feet. I bought this unit and placed it in the basement and can honestly tell you that it clears the air quickly. I have a cigarette about once an hour and coming in and out of the basement throughout the day I can tell that it smells fine. I'm very impressed.
