1. canceled initial meet due to snow, rescheduled next week. 2. showed him the old cameras that needed to be replaced. 3. said can't do above 10' - so just single storey homes. And can't run wires through attic, and am sure lots of other restrictions still to come. 4. said it's a waste of time for us to continue. This was going to the store, sales guy confidentally saying geek squad can do it, committing to a new camera system. The agent wasn't interested at all from the get-go. "Just show me the system and I'll know the camera models" without bothering to see all the locations. Maybe they have a report to corporate that says "visited client. client refused to move forward". Told him that bestbuy.com has reviews of wires being run through attic, etc.. Said Illinois law restricts them from doing it. Said you must have had a professional security company do the initial install - said, nop, just a responsive handyman which is what I should have gone with versus wasting 2 weeks with Geek Squad and BestBuy solution.

Purchased the 8-camera installation and received email from Geek Squad to call for installation schedule. After 12 calls over 5 days, multiple transfers, hang-ups, and no one knowing how to schedule the camera install, I gave up and asked for a refund. Now I'm going through the same headache to get a refund but no one in best buy seems to know how to!!! Amazing in this day and age simple scheduling and customer services doesn't exist at Best Buy.

We are very happy with the 8 cameras we had installed. We have all the angles we wanted. Turned out perfect. The guys were all very polite and very easy to talk to. Thank you all for everything you’ve done for us.

Best Buy is great but the 3rd party installation company Mastech is awful. We bought an $800 Simply Safe security system and Mastech was scheduled to come and install it Thursday am. They did not show up. We called and rescheduled for the next day. they said we would be the 1st. stop at 7:30 am for the tech. at 11:00 he showed up. He had not set up a system before so he started to read the instructions. he then said, "well we could do this, or that, and it should work". We told the incapable tech that we will think about where to install the different sensors and will call back and rescedule. He said "great, grabbed his coat and could not have left any quicker. We returned the system and bought an ADT system with their own proffessional installers.

The agent did a outstanding job. They were professional and made sure that I was satisfied with the install before departure. They were knowledgeable on the system and setup

Based off of the reviews, overview/specification, and questions & answers, I decided to give Geek Squad a shot. Once the GS agent got to my new developed 2-story house, he took one quick glimpse and said GS do not install WIRED cameras to the exterior of houses. Started to push for their wireless Ring cameras. The whole experience was a waste of time given the fact that I explained thoroughly the services I was looking for to the GS rep over the phone. It feels like they pick and choose when they want to install wired cameras. Given the fact that my house is a 2-story house, that may very well have a lot to do with GS not wanting to take on the job. I would suggest looking elsewhere.

I like the item, it keeps me  feeling safe, knowing that my kids are inside the home even when I’m gone, I can see them through the cameras,  and know that they’re safe

I purchased this service to install 8 security cameras and had my appointment rescheuled with no advanced notice or even speaking to me. I called customer service and they kept gettng transferring me to different departments. I flew all the way to my second home for nothing. I came back for the new rescheduled date and noone showed up. This company is a joke. Im going to hire a professional company.

I ordered 4 camera wired install. When contractor showed up late he said they do not get in attic to run cables - isnt that what wired install is. I have been having problems getting money back as I told him to leave.

Horrible service irresponsible I missed work expecting from them to show up and nothing didn't even show up . And didn't bother on contacting me I got email day of that I was cancelled and refunded

the geek squad rep showed up and didn't feel like wiring the cameras. he told me to drive into the nearest best buy store to get a refund from Geek Squad. ...Florida. sigh.

I have used geek squad/total tech before so this review is solely for their wired camera installation. Worst service and customer support I have ever received. Ultimately I am glad they did not actually work on my home.
