My husband loves it. It works like a smart watch but looks like stylish traditional watch. Very good battery. With daily use he charges every 3 to 4 weeks or so which no smart watch can do.

I have multiple watches and I've liked to wear the as an accessory, but I haven't felt the need to wear them. My phone has been my watch. This is different. The fitness tracker gives the watch a purpose beyond just telling time. I value the information and I have made changes in my diet and activity as a result. I also like the alerts...just enough to let me know I have a msg or a call. But it's not too much information. This is the perfect watch for me. It does what I need it to do and it looks pretty good going it.

It's a simple watch, but it gets the job done while looking classy. The Withings Health mate app looks nice and is very functional. The activity auto detect is better than my Apple watch.

Withings Scanwatch has hidden some pretty impressive technology behind the face of a traditional looking watch. The tech most people will be interested in is the ECG, heart monitoring abilities and SpO2 readings, plus the watch only needs to be charged once a month! The watch is also a fitness tracker, helping to keep track of your heart rate, physical activities, sleep quality, irregular heart beats(if any), breathing disturbances, calories burned and of course the time and date. In conjunction with the app you can also track (with manual entries); weight, blood pressure, calories consumed, temperature, fat mass, and workouts done without the watch. The app also offers general health tips, as well as displaying specific data collected directly from the watch for the day, or over a period of time. The watch is also water resistant for up to 165 feet, so no worries about sweat, spills or even taking it off to go swimming. Scanwatch gives a very accurate ECG in relation to Atrial Fibrillation. The results from Withings concerning this data and claims have been extensively tested and compared to the industry's gold standard 12-lead ECG machines, and has been found to be just as accurate as the 12-lead machines within a 0.01% difference. AFib is believed to be responsible for about 30% of strokes, and 90% of these events could have been avoided if AFib was detected at an early stage. AFib does not always present itself at a doctors office, so this watch is an extra level of protection for those concerned about this issue. ScanWatch is an OTC device, however, its ECG feature has been tested and cleared under Rx by the FDA, and because of that, the ECG use in the app requires a healthcare professional to review and validate your data for a prescription and continued use. The data is sent from your phone to "Heartbeat Health", who is currently partnered with Withings to deliver these prescriptions free of charge to the user. It is all part of the process for using the ECG feature and is all automatic, there is no need for the user to do anything different or complicated for this to happen. Keep in mind that this ECG is solely prescribed and should be used to detect and track atrial fibrillation. The EKG you receive in a doctor's office can also detect blockages, narrowing of the arteries, past heart attacks and enlargement of the heart. So this does not mean you can skip your regular EKG appointments with your doctor, but if you have heart concerns this watch is an excellent tool to help you keep track of your health in between doctor's visits. ScanWatch includes three electrodes to measure the ECG. Two electrodes are inside the main body of the watch, and the third electrode is in the stainless steel upper ring, around the face of the watch. Users simply need to touch both sides of the upper ring to start recording an ECG, after activating the feature. The SpO2 feature in ScanWatch uses a multi-wavelength sensor called PPG (photoplethysmography) sensor that emits and measures red and infrared reflections on the blood vessels in the wrist. The algorithm then compares the reflection at each wavelength to compute the SpO2 value. In addition to all the amazing health tracking abilities, the watch also has a built in timer, stopwatch, and alarm functions. Through the app, the watch can also notify you of new messages (i.e., texts, emails, etc.) and selected phone apps notifications with a typed preview of the message and a gentle vibration. The settings on the watch itself lets you check the battery life, enter the do not disturb mode, and enable quick look( turns on the screen when you turn your wrist). All of the other settings like the app notifications and such can be accessed through the app on your phone. There is even a "long press" shortcut option for quickly activating the ECG, Workout or O2 saturation feature. You can set your goals in the app for weight loss, and daily activities tracked. You can even keep track of what you are eating, and your calories consumed and calories left for the day through the associated "myfitnesspal" app. This app really helps out with dieting, as they have all the nutritional facts on practically everything there is to eat, all you have to do is enter the name and quantity of what you ate, or scan the barcode of packaged items and the app does the rest. The watch can display calories burned for the day, if selected. So far the watch has worked great for me. The battery life is no exaggeration, this thing lasts forever without a charge, and only takes 2 hours to reach another full charge. It has worked great at helping me keep my fitness goals, the watch has a smaller dial and hand on the face that gives you a quick constant look at your activity percentage for the day, so you can easily see if you need to take another walk around around the office or block to stay on track for the day. The ECG is a feature I use 3 or 4 times a month, as it always comes up normal, and I have never had a doctor diagnosed issue relating to this. The SpO2 feature works great as well, I usually check that during or after any exercise. The sleep tracker works pretty good too, it alerts me of poor nights of sleep and how many disturbances I had, which seems to be pretty accurate, because I always feel way more tired during those days with poor readings. The automatic fitness tracker seems to be pretty accurate at telling what kind of activity I am doing, so that it's one less thing I need to stop and manually enter. The heart rate tracking is actually pretty neat, here I can go into the app and look at my daily rates and see where my highs are, and what my average is for each day, this is a great tool to tell if your heart is typically working too hard. The watch actually becomes a necessity that you never knew you needed , it's not too big or heavy on your wrist. The look is simple yet elegant enough to go with any atire or situation. Even though it's sleek enough to forget you are wearing it, at a quick glance it's like having that workout buddy by your side saying, "your almost there" or "put the lead out, you got a long way to go". Then at the end of the day it's like you just stopped by the nurse's office and reviewed how you did, as you flip through the app and check your stats or do one last reading before bed.

I've tried both the Galaxy 3 and 4 as well as the Fitbit Sense. I didn't like any of them.. My biggest complaint (other than the poor battery life) was that they are useless as a watch. If you leave the display on, the battery suffers. To rely on lifting your wrist to make the display come on was not a good option. I never did figure out the right movements on any of them. Much easier on the ScanWatch, just look at it. Battery life is great. I charge it at about every 2 to 3 weeks and it will still have plenty left even at that. I have only one complaint. I got the 38mm black. I think the hands are smaller on the 38mm. They can be hard to see under low light but you can also get the time on the little round display if you need. The wrist movement thing to turn it on actually works on this watch. I would guess the white face would have been a better choice for me but I got the black one and it looks nice. As far as all of the functions, they all work as advertised.

Wow, I love this device. I moved from the apple watch because I couldn't validate the cost any more. I wanted a device that would help me with my health and keep me notified of things when I'm away from my phone. The small screen focuses this device on the health side and I couldn't be happier. Smart watches keep the user too connected as if its a phone on your wrist, but Withings hit the nail on the head with this device.

This watch is very stylish, and unless someone looks closely, they won’t notice it’s not a standard analog watch. The Scanwatch is marketed as a device that focuses on health, not fitness. This is not the watch to buy if you’re looking for stand-alone GPS, connected sensors, or detailed fitness data. There is no option to download or play music. You can see snippets of texts that are received or a limited number of app notifications, but you can’t respond to them and they can’t be referenced once they scroll off the screen. This watch requires a phone or tablet with the Health Mate app installed to set up! It will function as a watch once set up without being connected to a device, but a device is required for the ECG feature and any workouts where you opt for GPS tracking. Given the limited display size on the watch 15 to 30-day battery life depending on the frequency of the notifications, SpO2 and ECG usage, and Respiratory Scans On-demand ECG and SpO2 as well as nightly SpO2 tracking. Respiratory Scans can be turned off, set to automatic which scans a couple of times every 3 months, or always on which will give you a result every morning but really decreases the battery life. Irregular heartbeat tracking alerts you to signs of atrial fibrillation. HR monitoring is every 10 minutes during regular use and constantly while in workout mode. Daily step goal configurable in 1,000 step increments from 3,000 to 15,000. The watch does not have an accelerometer, so steps generally won’t be recorded on a treadmill. Steps counts are very accurate for outside walks including pushing a shopping cart, but aside from this, they are substantially lower than any other device I’ve used. Specifically, it’s 35 steps in my office from my desk to the printer, so 70 round trips. On my last count, I made that journey 15 times one day aside from any other walking. My total step count when I left work was less than 700 steps. That includes my mourning routine and walking to my car, parking and walking in the office, and all my movement around the office. I get up and leave my phone at my desk often, and my iPhone step count was still 35% higher than what the watch recorded. But it’s all about baselines, so if it’s consistent in undercounting steps at least you’ll have good data to discern if you’re increasing your step count. Stride length IS NOT configurable. Sleep tracking results in a Sleep Score for comparison purposes, but the only data provided is Deep/Light/Duration and interruptions along with your average heart rate based on 10-minute samplings. There’s no estimation of REM, and in my experience the sleep tracking is inaccurate. Most nights if I get up to use the facilities and go right back to sleep, it ends tracking for the night at that point. You have the option to edit your sleep/wake times and have it fill in the missing data with sleep. It’s hit and miss whether this data will populate as solid sleep or fill in what actually happened or would have happened had you not left the bed. Calories burned are based on your height/weight/activities. Heart rate is not considered when calculating burned calories. You only have the option to set 3 alarms, and they can only be set in the Health Mate app. The display can be configured to display all of the following with the exception of the digital date and time which is a fixed option. Heart Rate – Sampled every 10 minutes unless you’re in an activity. ECG – To activate and be told if it’s “normal” or not, but the Health Mate App is required to see the results. Oxygen Saturation Steps Settings – Reset and battery % and turn Quicklook and Do Not Disturb on and off. There is no option to turn the watch off. Breathe – Guided breathing Workouts – 6 configurable choices on the watch from the following options. You can also start any workout from the Health Mate app. The watch will not pair to or receive data from any external devices like a speed/cadence sensor on a bicycle. Indoor Cycling, Cycling, Walking, Fitness, Elliptical, Other, Swimming, Running, Hiking, Weights, Indoor Walking, Indoor Running, Rowing, Yoga, Pilates, Dancing, Zumba, Tennis, Badminton, Squash, Ping Pong, Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Football, Rugby, Handball, Volleyball, Hockey, Ice Hockey, Climbing, Golf, Boxing, Windsurfing, Kitesurfing, Surfing, Skiing, Snowboarding, Ice Skating & Horseback riding. There are no options to add other apps, so you have to use “Other” for things like gardening, etc. Clock – Stopwatch, timer, or turning off preset alarms Calories Distance Elevation This watch has a lot of potential, but it's limited by the features and limitations of the accompanying Health Mate app.

Absolutely love this watch. It’s gorgeous and durable. I would give it 5 stars but the one downfall is that it will automatically track cycling during a normal day to day activity such as driving, doing the dishes, cooking, etc. Unfortunately there is no way to turn off the feature of automatically tracking activities and results in having to manually delete it. Besides this everything else is simple to use and seems to be very accurate.

I'm a big fan of this watch. I got one for myself, loved it so much I got one for my wife. It is stylish, has excellent battery life (3-4 weeks in my experience) and provides high quality health monitoring and smart phone integration. Highly recommend, especially for those tired of charging their full screen smart watches everyday. You don't honestly need 95% of typically smart watch features. Ditch the rest and go with the hybrid Scanwatch.
