It's a console!

The PS4 has the advantage at this point in power and may be a better choice. It really comes down to which first party exclusives you're looking for (e.g. Xbox One -> Halo/Sunset Overdrive, PS4 -> Bloodborne/Last of Us). Think about it!

excellent if you play by yourself

If you like playing games with friends then friends must be the console and game too. Also if you buy the disk for a game it still has to be downloaded onto the hard drive if you want to play
