    Great Console

Is it perfect? Not yet. But my wife and I use this console more than any other "deivice" we have, and the apps/games will only get better. HBO Go is finally confirmed, and we use it for Hulu Plus, Amazon Prime, and Netflix. Of course we play games as well. The controller is an improvement over the Xbox 360 controller, although it felt odd at first. I think the time they put into refining the controller was worth it. Sure, there will be people who complain about various "issues", but if I were to rate a device by how much value I get out of it, then this is easily a 5 star. Games will get better, apps will just become more varied, and the value will increase with time as the system has the opportunity to come into it's own.

It's a great system but it was really loud. The fan would run loudlly no matter what I did. It's annoying.

    Best console experience

The Xbox One is a fantastic gaming console that does so much more. Besides having the best games like Titanfall, Forza, Ryse, and so many more, the Xbox One is a great entertainment experience. This console only gets a few hours off every night when I'm asleep. Even then, it might be busy downloading new games, patches, and updates!

I have been waiting for the price for this system to drop. Im a gamer so im not concerned about a webcam lol. As long as the regular One games don't require the Kinect then i have no intention of ever getting one. Same with the Xbox 360 i never got the kinect then.

    Just buy the $499.99 version.

For $499.99 you get a game included (a $60 value, Forza or Titanfall) AND the kinect. If you don't want the Kinect... sell it and you will still be ahead in your bank. To me, the kinect is work an extra $40.

    a new paradigm

The new XBOX one has gone well beyond my great expectations ....this new device revolutionizes how a family can be entertained....the nearly instantaneous ability to go from tv programming to NETFLIX to a game to music to youtube without the use of a remote and constant SOURCE button changes is worth its weight in gold. The ability to turn the device on and off via voice command, to exercise utilizing XBOX fitness takes you to a new level where the xbox monitors your workout ..reads your eyelid movement to check your heart rate , than to instantly give you an update on your current workout compared to others in your age group...... The machine is so fantastic it has made all other home devices bland now...my expectations have been raised by the new XBOX ONE...

    Great System

The Xbox one is a great system. The graphics comparison to the PS4 is unnoticeable to me (I have both systems). It all comes down to exclusive preference and online preference. I like xboxlive better and I like halo. I've played destiny on both systems and can't tell a performance difference. I like the kinect, it has many uses. My favorite is the IR blaster, I can turn on my Xbox, controller and TV and sound system just by saying Xbox on. Smart Glass is cool too. You can use your phone as a remote for the Xbox. I highly recommend the Xbox one.

    Great Console, Great Game

Great system! While the PS4 might be a bit more powerful, I've found the XBox One excels in a lot of areas making it a very good purchase for anyone looking at a new console. I feel like the current exclusive games have a leg up on the PS4, particularly the likes of Titanfall, D4, and the upcoming Sunset Overdrive and Halo Masterchief Collection. The media features are also currently leading the way, with support for Plex and more media file formats like mkv making it an excellent media center system. Highly recommended all around system!

The greatest console on the market

I am so glad i decided to upgrade my xbox 360 to the xbox one. I have always been a bigger fan of the xbox product line than the Wii and Playstation consoles. The xbox one has completely blown me away. The graphics are nothing short of stellar. Half the time that i am playing i just admire the graphics and i find it hard to believe i'm playing a video game. Add in all the xbox live extras like Netflix, a blu-ray player, and tons of other extras, this really is an all in "one" entertainment system. The loading times are virtually non existent and the system is incredibly quiet. It also comes with a very large hard drive at 500GB and has an included HDMI cable. I have no other words to describe this juggernaut of the electronic/gaming world. You just have to experience it for yourself!

Knowing my husband wanted to play Halo: The Master Chief Collection, I got this console as a gift for him! He was happy to get the new XB. Beware, curious pets can shut off the machine with a little nose press, haha.

Great entertainment for the whole family

The Xbox One has become the families entertainment center. Besides the obvious items like Netflix, Hulu, HBOGO, etc... it also has the ability to work as a universal remote and control the rest of your living room equipment such as stereo, t.v., etc... It is great that when one of us walks into the livingroom and says "Xbox On" it automatically uses it's built in IR blaster to also turn on the TV, surround sound and any other items that are needed for our entertainment. The home screen can have a bit of a learning curve for anyone not used to windows 8. But once you get the hang of it you will have no problems finding what you are looking for. Recent updates have made the home screen and options for communicating and following friends much easier. Other nice benefits is that you can now have more than 100 friends on your friends list #Up to 1000 if you don't count facebook, etc...#, the ability to record video clips of your gameplay or live stream them over twitch.tv while playing is also a great way to engage with the gaming community. Overall I love my Xbox One and have had it since launch day.

    Great graphics but epic fail

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The graphics are great and some of the extras are great too but so far it's a fail and here is why. For those not familiar with the new system here is the skinny. It's not the old plug and play system, great for graphics but not for offline play. While yes you can get a disc it still has to download to the console (internet required). Ok so you download the game and think ok at least once it's downloaded I won't need the disc. You would be wrong if you use a disc to load the game you need the disc to play the game. Additionally, game developers seem to be having a lot of problems with the new system so many games have been continuously pushed back on the release date. W have several games that have had release dates pushed back several times. So far it's been a great paper weight in our game room and despite the fact that the 360 is due to be phased out we are regretting trading it and and the 100 games it had in for the new One. So to those thinking about it please weigh the decision carefully. Because you might be waiting a long time for your favorite games to be available on the xboxone!

    Day One

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

We got this as the giant day one bundle. I like that it is so much quicker than the xbox 360. What I don't like is that it freezes a lot and programs all stay open and running in the background unless you close each one. The RAM gets overloaded and have to unplug it if it freezes to clear the active memory.

this one doesn't come with the Kinect because now after 6 months Microsoft listened to us and made the Xbox One now available for a cheaper price and with no Kinect. You are actually paying $450 not $500 if you want to get the Xbox One with the Kinect.

    Great System/Price!!!

I decided to purchase a Xbox One when they announced/ then released a Non Kinect sku of the the system. I've enjoyed the system a lot since I purchased it. Haven't really played the system much buts it's great. I also have a PS4 so it's kind of tough trying to play both systems equally. As of late I've been playing my Xbox One more though. The interface can be a little sluggish at times. I did have a weird issue with the LED light on the controller flickering! No problem! I was able to replace the controller for FREE at a local Microsoft Store even though I purchased the system at Best Buy months ago. All in all being a huge fan of the Xbox 360, I'm sure the Xbox One will live up to be a great console! PS. Xbox One accessories have a 90 day warranty while the system has a 1 year warranty.

The XBox One expands your console experience exponentially. Microsoft account integration offers so much more than the 360.The graphics are great and that goes for all the graphic applications, games, video, etc. Setup is easy and network connectivity is now a breeze.

I have the xbox one with the kinect from release, and I like it...BUT this is a much better option in my choice and IO would have went with it. The Kinect doesnt add enough to warrant the extra 100$ price tag.

    Feels like a downgrade

The One source for all your entertainment needs such as gaming, music, tv etc. This idea was to be manifested in the Xbox One. Very misleading and even false advertisement. The One cannot do something as simple as play movies or music from an external hard drive such as a USB, the 360 was capable of this. This is a huuuge let down. HBO Go was not a launch app (understandable) but it is still missing. Another disappointment. The user interface of the console feels primitive when compared to that of the 360. The 360 has it's own tab for home, music, tv, games and the social tab where you can find your friends. It was very organized and easy to read. The One has condensed the aforementioned into two tabs. The One thing this console can do right is play games.
