      Hey Aaron,

We're sorry that Xbox One X hasn't quite lived up to expectations yet. To see a bigger difference in visual quality, we recommend checking out some Xbox games that have been enhanced specifically for Xbox One X. You can find a list of them here: https://www.xbox.com/en-us/games/xbox-one/xbox-one-x-enhanced-list

Get it IF you have a 4K TV

I am returning to gaming after a 7 year hiatus. I spent have spent many hours reading and talking to folks about whether or not the X is worth the extra over the S. I was already decided on XBOX, so Playstation never came into my research. The S is such a steal, especially if you can find it bundled with a game or two, which is pretty easy at the moment. With that in mind and armed with a ton of information on the two systems, I bought the S. I brought it home played it for a couple days and I was still pining for the X. That and I wasn't as blown away as I thought I would be. So, I returned the S and bought the X. At first I didn't notice a ton of difference in graphic quality in games. Games played smoother and that is the main reason I decided to go back and get the X. Only after adjusting a few settings on both the XBOX and my TV did the difference come out. There is a difference in graphic quality and game play on new games is smoother. Make sure you check settings on your TV and the XBOX as they are not enabled for 4K by default. The BIG caveat here, if you do not have a 4K HDR TV, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, the S will be fine. But, if you do have a 4K TV, you bought it because you wanted the best picture possible. I recommended following suit when it comes to your console, get the best one you can. And at the time of this writing the XBOX One X is the best. Cheers!

go for the Xbox series X to get into true 4k gaming, the 4k gaming on this is typically at 30fps or dynamic resolution

Graphics are great but it is absolutely horrible that Microsoft doesn't allow more than two players in local play multiplayer mode, especially in regard to how much this unit costs. The older games were much better and more enjoyable by permitting 3-4 players on a single tv. Also- no new games are being made for the older xboxes - quite controlling, both electronically and monetarily.

This is a nice upgrade from my first gen Xbox one. I was playing on an actual 40 inch 4k Monitor not a TV. But the crisp colorful video was an instant upgrade from the old one. Madden 18 loaded into a game from franchise FAR FASTER than my old box. The old one would show goals for all the top guys at least 2 times this one loaded up before I could see more than 3 or so team goals. The controller was a upgrade for me also, I had the old controller that are slick and prone to sweating and slipping in the hands. The new controller is textured very nicely and feels great, an upgrade there also. I am not sure if there is a 4k upgrade for Madden 18 out there I didn't check so I couldn't really judge the hype on 4k. But at 1080p on a 40inch 4k Phillips monitor it is improvement and beautiful graphics. The game was far smoother also! I am glad I upgraded from my old console and it was worth it. I do not play a lot of games at once but I believe the first 24 hours owning the X shows it will be a tremendously lot of fun playing with this console for the next several years. There is only good stuff coming early next year in 4k enhanced games that look like they are going to rock the Xbox One X. If you are on the fence go for this one.

I'm really disappointed that you cannot talk to the new Xbox like the old Xbox One. But for 4k reasons, it does bring definition to the TV.

      Hi Joann,

We're glad that you're enjoying your new Xbox One X for the most part. It is possible to use voice commands with Xbox One X using Kinect (with an Xbox Kinect Adapter) or headset microphone. Buy It !!

I have the PS4 Pro already and decided to buy the most powerful console available and it doesn’t disappoint. The graphical difference between the Pro and X aren’t huge (right now) but there is a noticeable difference. I have them both hooked up to my 65” LG OLED C6 and the X seems to have the finer detail and performance the Pro lacks. The Pro has a softer muddy look while the X has that sharp quality 4K should have. I think the big differences are soon to come when developers start utilizing the power this console has to offer. Not just remastering and patching existing titles. The other big difference is the fan noise. The Pro sounds like it’s about to fly away and you can’t hardly hear the X even under hard load. While that may not be a deciding factor to most I will say that I wasn’t aware of how loud and annoying the Pro was until I started gaming on the X. I love both consoles in there own right, but will be playing all my multi-platform games on the X and use the Pro for exclusives only. If your on the fence as to which one to buy, I would highly recommend the X over the Pro unless there are Sony exclusives you have to have. Microsoft hit a homerun with this console and I love gaming on. Can’t wait to see future games on this little powerhouse.

Turned on my xbox to play some games only to find a black screen... Come to find out, the graphics card burnt out right at the 1 year and 7 day mark (Feb. 20, 2019). Purchased a preowned xbox one with a new elite controller. The Elite controller's right toggle joystick now drifts..... XBOX!!! I am going to Playstation.

I'm a huge fan of Halo and if you're playing Halo these days you have play it on Xbox (the PC version is just custom games) and even Halo 5 at two years old and Halo 3 at 10 years old are seriously ramped up graphically by the new Xbox One X. I have no complaints. I only have about 30 total games but 14 of them are enhanced already with 3 or 4 more listed as enhancements coming in early 2018. They look gorgeous on my 4k HDR tv. If you don't have a 4k TV and don't plan to purchase one in the next 3 years you might want to consider a Xbox One S. Every Xbox One game loads significantly faster, plays smoother, and usually looks better even if it's not listed as enhanced. The DVR build in is great as well if you want to stream or record clips. The HD built-in isn't huge, but the average enhanced 4k games are only 60gb (some get up to 100gb, but I also have a couple that are closer to 30gb so it all averages out). With that in mind an external hard drive is handy, but not required. For me the whole experience of sitting on the couch, easily catching up with friends on Xbox Live, and getting some of that PC level performance makes this an easy choice.

    Xbox X

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

A must have for 4K tv owners who game. I usually buy all new consoles, and by far this has been the best! It runs games buttery smooth, and gorgeously! The console is almost silent. I have been a Sony fan for ages, and will continue to buy exclusives for my pro. The pro just does not have the horsepower of this beast! Playing bf1 on the pro stutters and the machine is very loud when heavy processing is at max. It still does pretty good, but just lacks what the Xbox X can do. The new cod looks amazing, and runs flawlessly with no hiccups. Forza is simply the most beautiful game I have ever played! At the end of the day it’s your choice, but there is definitely value in the Xbox X that should not be overlooked when investing in a new console. It is hard to ignore the exclusives Sony has to offer, but if you play mostly cross platform games the X is worth the extra hundred dollars. You get a console that has a 4K player, and at this point is ready for the future- at least until Sony drops a 12 teraflop console. Hope this helps, but most importantly game on whatever is your console of choice and have fun. Good gaming!

I bought this specifically for Sea of Thieves as well as some future games that would be One X enhanced and was severely disappointed with the performance in SoT(crashed everytime I was in a game) and the load times were barely noticeable from my original One X. Returned it because I couldn't even play my favorite game and the improved graphics and load times just wasn't worth the cost.

XBOX ONE X is a steal for the price

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The Xbox One X is a steal for $499.99, any naysayers saying the price is too much or the PC fanboys saying "why don't you just build a PC?" are dead WRONG and misinformed. An NVidia GeForce GTX 980TI costs today $399.99, this GPU runs at 5.6 TFLOPS, the Xbox One X runs at 6 TFLOPS, so these two are comparable so that is why I am using that GPU as a reference point. The card alone costs $399.99, you still need the RAM, HDD, CPU, MOBO, GSYNC Monitors, add all that up and you can't build a computer for the price you can buy the new Xbox One X for...... Sadly the GTX 980 TI only has 6GBs of GDDR5 memory as well, the Xbox One X has 12 GBs of GDDR5 memory and all of this for $499.99.... People need to really research before they become SJW (social justice warriors) and misinformed FANBOYS putting down something they really don't understand. On Top of all of the this, the Xbox One X has a 4K UHD Blu Ray drive as well, go price out a 4K Blu Ray player, yeah.... See what I'm saying now? Stop listening to fanboys, especially SONY PONIES who are just hating that their PS4 PRO console is a joke compared to XOX.
