Amazing little console!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this console because I couldn't get my hands on a Series X because of the scalpers galore. I also refuse to pay $800+ for a $500 console. So I opted for the less powerful Series S console. That being said...this console is amazing!! I'm not the type of gamer that focuses on every pixel and framerate, or the density of the graphics. I'm just a gamer. If the game looks pretty, I'm satisfied. Series S does a great job at displaying these games. I play on a 27 inch LG monitor. The picture is amazing. The only thing I would complain about is the storage. By the time the OS is factored in, you only have a little over 300gb of space. Unless you buy external storage.

Awesome little system!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great little system, perfect for a 2nd room, or if you tend to move systems around a lot (I do) I already have a Series X hooked up to the 4K, I bought this for the portability and to use on smaller screens. I love it! I actually used it more than the X, since the X is on the family TV. It compares well to the X. If you look at the games side by side you will notice a difference, but in general the games look and play great. It's snappy and quiet, the only downside is the small amount of storage, but that's easily rectified by using a cheap HDD and shuffling games around. Unfortunately I had to return it because the fan started squeaking, and of course there was no replacement available for exchange. I'm definitely buying another one whenever Best Buy gets them back in stock!

Works as expected
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's smaller than I expected. Space is limited if that matters to you. No disk drive if you have games on disk. If you're on a budget and this is what you're looking for, get it, otherwise I'd recommend the series x. Other than that, a good unit. Ordered for curbside pickup, which was a good experience.

Great small console for the money
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very impressed with the series S. I was able to use the 1440p at 120hz playing on a monitor with free sync. I was impressed with the SSD load times playing multiple games after each other. I thought the 512GB wouldn’t be enough but I only play 2-3 games at a time so I had lots of room. The only game that takes a lot of space is COD (100+GB) other than that most games are only 50GB or less. So there was a lot of room. Now if you plan to have more games you can always buy the expansion SSD that’s made for both series X/S. It’s a little pricey at around $220 for 1TB. Also the 4K on the series X would be the only other difference on the graphics. Oh yeah this console is small like tiny compared to the series X and smaller than the Xbox one X/S. I say it’s a get value for $300.

Very nice tiny system
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this on a 50 inch 4k 60Hz television, and I upgraded from the original Xbox One. I also have an external SSD that I have a bunch of Xbox One games on. Visually, the higher framerate on the games is noticeable. I also really like the physical design of the system. Two of the main things I have liked so far are the very quick load times, and the quick resume feature. It makes it very difficult to think of going back to the original Xbox One. If I had a larger television with 120Hz refresh rate, I'd probably go for the Series X (though they are still hard to buy at retail). I'm happy with it, and I don't think you can go wrong for the price. The Series X or the standard PS 5 would also be great values at their retail price.

If you want it now, get it, I would wait..........
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The 4k graphics are exactly as great as they advertise!! I have been a PS user since the original, owned the 2 and the slim version, both the original and backwards compatible 3, original 4 and 4Pro. I absolutely got rid of everything PlayStation simply because of Sony Customer "Care" (They could caaare less about you). I bought the S for many reasons and have been impressed with everything. Expected pretty standard stuff, and was wrong on every occasion. Not personally a fan of white because if it isn't pristine, it's dirty, in my eyes. Ease of access is above expectation. It's absolutely silent even after hours of fast paced, intensive gameplay. No heat off the console at all. Setup and personal setting adjustments were far more simple than I had anticipated. 2FA is seamless. I even had a blast just setting up my friggin avatar!! The ONLY reason this did not get a perfect score is because..... 512gb isn't enough. Without the expansion card, you are really left with only keeping a couple games on the console. So pick your favorites to keep on it or you'll find yourself uninstalling games to have enough space to download and install the next game you want to play. I should have been more patient and waited to get the 2TB version of the console. If you're impatient like I was, get this with the expansion card :)

Great Gamepass machine/transition piece!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lucked out finding this at the local BB; intent is ultimately to use this system as a placeholder until the Series X becomes more readily available due to its increased power, optical drive and increased storage. As it stands, this is a dandy little system, even smaller than my Xbox One S. Already had Gamepass Ultimate so I transferred a few titles onto the (tiny) 364-gb SSD and fired them up after installing the 4K texture packs that Xbox recommends - didn't increase the size nearly as bad as I'd feared. Titles like Outriders and POE2 loaded insanely fast, markedly improved from even the portable SSD I was using to launch them on the One S! The improved frame rates and textures were a vast improvement and I'll never go back! All of it really whets my appetite to see what the Xbox Series X is capable of with three times the processing power, but again, as a holdover this system is perfectly adequate. Careful swapping around of titles due to the limited storage will allow for optimal play conditions at all times - and if you're like me and have a substantial disc-based collection of title, you'll need the Series X to take advantage of them as well. But for what it does, this system is quite an improvement over even the One X and really shows what gaming will look like in the near future!

Great Little Box
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this as a secondary console to my Series X so that I could play my games and stream my movies on another tv in the house. I did not expect to love this system so much. It is very small and sleek so it fits well in any entertainment system. Also Xbox’s instant cloud saves makes going back in forth between systems. Also performance wise it is very sleek and fast. And while Series X is a higher powered unit this definitely holds its own. The biggest drawback is the internal storage, but that is something you can upgrade when you’re ready.

Best Budget Console On The Market!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best bang for your buck console on the market currently. $300 for this absolute powerhouse of a console. Only thing I'm pretty sad about is the disc drive but that's fine, It's a good trade off. Switched from a Xbox S To This console and the comparison is like night and day. Cooling on the console is decent it's what you'd expect definitely dust the console every other month. Playing cyberpunk 2077 is super smooth, Apex Legends so much smoother and no constant freezing! If anyone has a older gen console and looking to upgrade, get this console. To me, this is the best console for just regular gaming which is what consoles are meant for! 10/10 Product Good Job Xbox!

Wow!!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can’t get my hands on a Xbox series X at retail price and I needed to upgrade my old Xbox One. I set my expectations low because I figured for $299 there’s no way this console can be that much better. I could not be more wrong!! The way the graphics look, and how quickly games load and handle are amazing. The gamepass also makes Xbox a great buy!! 10/10 would buy again. I will gladly get the series X at retail when they get the inventory, but this is more than good for me!! Also reccommend getting the seagate expansion card because that’s my only complaint is storage… these games are way too big for the storage the console comes with.

Good stuff
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to order and pick up. I was more interested in getting a PS5 due to console capabilities and exclusives but decided to go the cheaper and more available route. Xbox series S has exceeded these expectations. Short load times, easy set up, great interface and no issues with any games. I cannot speak to the 4k as my TV is about 13 years old but the graphics are still next gen. Game pass offers a cheap way to access loads of games. Great console for any type of console gamer. Very happy with the purchase.

Sleek, Swift, and Seriously Fun - Xbox Series S
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Xbox Series S is a marvel of modern gaming technology, packed into a sleek and compact design that fits perfectly in any entertainment setup. As the smaller sibling in the Xbox Series lineup, it doesn’t skimp on power or performance, making it an ideal choice for both casual gamers and hardcore enthusiasts alike. Right out of the box, the Series S impresses with its minimalist aesthetic and space-saving size, but it's the inside that counts, and this console doesn't disappoint. Powered by a custom SSD, the Series S dramatically reduces load times, allowing me to jump into games quicker than ever before. The 512 GB of storage, while modest, is ample for managing several large games and can be expanded with additional storage solutions if needed. The all-digital format is another highlight, supporting a streamlined gaming experience where I can download all my titles from the Xbox store. This feature not only eliminates physical clutter but also grants instant access to a vast library of digital games, including many next-gen titles. Graphics performance, though not as robust as its bigger counterpart, the Series X, still dazzles on the Series S. Games look stunning in up to 1440p resolution, and with support for up to 120 fps, gameplay is buttery smooth. The ray tracing capabilities add a touch of realism that brings game worlds to life, making every session more immersive. The Xbox Series S also shines with its backward compatibility, offering access to thousands of games across four generations of Xbox. Whether it’s revisiting classics or catching up on recent hits, the transition is seamless, with many older games enhanced by the console's superior hardware. Connectivity and social features are top-notch, integrating effortlessly with the Xbox ecosystem for multiplayer games, sharing achievements, and streaming gameplay. The controller, inheriting the best aspects of the Xbox tradition, feels just right in the hands—responsive and comfortable for long gaming marathons. In conclusion, the Xbox Series S is an outstanding console that strikes an excellent balance between performance and affordability. It’s the perfect gateway into next-gen gaming without the hefty price tag of more powerful units. Whether you’re upgrading from an older console or stepping into gaming for the first time, the Series S offers everything you need to dive into the world of Xbox games and beyond. Holiday gamers, rejoice! The Series S is here to make your season bright and endlessly entertaining.

A true value to gaming in 2023! Good job Microsof!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The mighty Xbox is mighty with a size of a book! Well a thiccc book but it delivers. There’s reduced resolution and fidelity doesn’t stops gameplay that it delivers. 120 fps was a great choice to prioritize, over resolution and what it really delivers is gaming at an affordable cost! Microsoft takes the loss on $$ but delivers gaming! The controller alone costs 59$, I’ll just leave it at that!

||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great system for it being next gen and the smaller version of the Xbox series. Great graphic visuals, good price, quick load times. The only thing is that there could be more hard drive space, you will want to buy an external hard drive or install an internal hard drive yourself.

"Secondary" system but really great maybe as first
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I bought this as a second system and not regretting it even though it is another 300 dollar chunk of change. I was lucky enough to get a PS5 shortly after release. I mainly went with the PS because I felt as a gaming system it is better because of the exclusives. There are a bunch of stuff that bug me about it though. Being and audio visual guy I don't like the PS pretty much always has HDR on and the sound is not passed through . Which I would much rather have my receiver handle the audio and HDR trigger when needed. Also the streaming apps on the PS very crappy and limited amount of apps. So I did a little homework on Xbox and how it is much better for streaming (also had a Xbox One so had some idea) . Thought I could just pick one of these up with out it taking a ton of time and effort and it's cheaper. This hits all marks for me so much I kind of wish I went with the Xbox Series X and never got a PS5 . Although at the end of the day the PS5 does have the games that you can't get on Xbox. For example Spider Man and a new Wolverine game is in development. I also have a kid that games more than me and wants those games. This is a great little all in one system for me though. Basically put the PS5 in a different room so I don't get kicked out of the man cave as often. I am a very casual gamer but as I said earlier Audio Visual is important to me. This is great for streaming. The quality is there HDR is only triggered when needed and you can tell it to pass through the sound so the receiver is handling the decoding. Basically I don't have to leave one input to do all I want. Go watch a show xbox. Watch a movie xbox. Play a game xbox. Plus the game pass is mostly all I need to play just a game here and there. My advice is if you don't care about the exclusives go with this or a series X. The biggest problem I would say with this is the storage space. You start off with less then 400 GB. That being said though you can use a USB 3.1 drive to expand the storage . Super simple and cheap. You will increase load times so if the super quick load times are important to you then you will need to spend a good amount on their official drive that matches the speed of the internal. I would highly recommend this if: You are looking for a more all in one system You don't care about gaming in 4k Don't care about exclusives And if you do care about gaming in 4k and not exclusives I would go with an X.

Excellent Price/Performance
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent machine for the price. The Xbox Series S combined with Gamepass Ultimate may be the best deal going in gaming right now. If you’re on the fence just know that the price to performance is there. You’re getting a great product. The SSD alone, while not huge, offers such an increase in performance that it makes it worth the upgrade from something like the One X. It may not be as powerful as the Series X, but for someone on a budget, doesn’t have a 4K tv, doesn’t care about 4K, or just simply can’t get there hands on a series X or PS5, you’re making a great choice with the Series S!

A beast in a small package
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We recently bought the Xbox Series S as a second console. Our other is a Series X. We got the S so we could play online co-op games together. We’d been playing games like Halo MCC on the Series X in split screen but wanted to get a second console to be able to branch out and play online co-op together instead of limiting ourselves to just the couch co-op games. I did some online research first for exactly what is needed to do this with only one copy of each game and one Game Pass membership. The setup is very simple and works really well. I decided to go with a Series S since getting my hands on another Series X is still hard to do. We have been very happy with the Series S. We’ve found we really like playing full screen in different rooms with headsets as opposed to split screen together in the living room. We sometimes trade off for who takes which spot but the gaming experience is the same regardless of which console I am playing on. The Series S is small and easy to hide in a wall bracket mounted behind the bedroom TV, so no additional clutter. The storage space on the S is a lot smaller than the X so I just keep 2-3 games at a time on the S and delete the old and download the next new one when needed. However, if you plan ahead, the small amount of internal storage is a non-issue.

Perfect 1440p 120hz console
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this console. I had to return it cause I got an Xbox series X but honestly this is a great deal for someone who doesn’t want to spend a lot of money on a “next-gen machine”. I know you can’t do 4k with this console but you can play at 1440p 120hz with this console and my favorite part is how small it is. Its a very quiet console, and you can play cloud games. Also, it’s usually on sale for 50$ off. Sometimes you could even get it for 200$

||Posted . If you're getting into the Xbox ecosystem this is definitely not a bad place to start.
