So for now, I decided to get the Series S to hold me over until Series X stock increases and more readily-available to get. On a different note, the design of this smaller form-factor console looks better than the simpler "all-black" box of the Series X...not a deal breaker but looks better when you have it sitting next to a PS5 for color consistency: white and black.

It's got a nice punch for a mere $300. Also, if you don't have a newer 4k TV, than the Series X may be more than you need anyway. This would be a great economical gaming choice for kids, 1080p and lower-end 4k TVs, casual gamers, new gamers, and for those just wanting a machine for Game Pass. It runs silent and cool. It will play next gen games, even if a lower level.

Super quiet console that doesn't take much space. Extra Plus: No external power supply needed. Keep in mind this console does NOT have a CD/DVD/Blue Ray drive. You can only play digital purchased content and anything that is part of "Games with Gold" or Xbox Gamepass. Series X/S optimized games can only be played while they are on the Solid-State Drive - and you only have about 365 GB available of the total 512GB. If you are more than just a casual gamer consider the Series X with 1TB SSD and a CD/DVD/Blue Ray drive. Adding an additional external USB HDD is only good for non-X/S optimized games and for legacy 360 or original xbox games.

All the games in my library optimized for the X/S downloaded in the optimized format automatically. The lack of a disk drive gets in the way sometimes, but only because I have some games in hard copy vs digital.

It was series x that was desired and with all the scalpers buying up the x’s I had to get this for them to have something new. All in all tho they really like it the speed, load times are good and the games that they already have play a lot better. Later on when X’s are more in wild might trade in for X for more power tho but this is a great buy.
