Xbox Series S. If about 2 years ago you told me i would be buying another Xbox id say you were crazy But i ended up doing it for a number of reasons. 1. While i game a fair amount i dont always have time to go after the most expensive special nexr gen editions of games and just wanted something to enjoy without spending a ton of money. The series S on top of using Gamepass to me was a great way to go and with some titles even including RTX in them? And for a system under $300 to me that is a steal. I hope my xbox series s will continue to work for a very long time and have many amazing games put on the platform for ke to try out. And here is hoping xbox 360 games from previous store make the move over. Id love to play older games that currently arent on the store if that ever happens.

This Xbox is great for casual players. It doesnt take too much space to be setup. You dont need to buy discs, but the limited memory can be offset by using external drives to store games if you plan to purchase them. The game pass was so easier and conveniente because you only pay a monthly fee of 18 a month to access hundreds of games. Sure, the only inconvenience is having to download and delete games every time you’re running out of space. But, again, this xbox is good for casual players

This a great little console for the money especially if you are, or plan to be a Xbox Game Pass Subscriber. The lack of a physical game drive is a little disappointing especially if you have a lot of old games on disk. The hard drive is 500gb which is fine if you are playing a lot of old games (digitally) or indie games, but if you want to play AAA games expect to only have 3 or 4 on your console at a time. and having to pay an extra $300 for the official expandable storage SSD kinda just makes me want take my chances on getting a Series X. I was playing on an original Xbox One before, so the jump in graphics and frame rate is great, but the most significant improvement is the load times thanks to the SSD. I feel like most modern games like Halo and Call of Duty you can usually get about 60 FPS which is nice compared to older consoles, but I remember them marketing the Series S as being able to get 120FPS which is a bit of a bummer that didn't come true. However if you do have a 120Hz TV or Monitor I think it can get 120Hz refresh rate which is also nice. Overall if you are coming from an original Xbox One or Xbox One S, and already have a lot of digital games owned or plan on becoming a Game Pass Subscriber, I think this console is great improvement and should be able to hold you over until the Series X becomes more available at retail price. Also another bonus for this thing is its overall size is pretty tiny which makes it super easy to toss in backpack or bag to bring to a friends house or when going out of town.

Very pleased with the console. Smooth, fast loading gameplay. Impressive graphics for an entry level next gen console. Halo Master Chief collection is superb. The fact that you can chose between the original retro look of the game, or the new remastered look by just pressing a button during gameplay is what's really cool about it. Remastered versions are excellent. Very well done. The vintage nostalgia is there too. Only issue is the hard drive space. Since I can't justify spending $500 on a video game console, I went for this one over the series X. Only need a couple of games at a time anyway. No big deal for me personally. Also, much easier to find this one in stock, unlike the series x and ps5 which, still to this day, sell out almost instantly when they come in stock. Designed more for a casual gamer, who doesn't have and/or need a $2000 television needed to really showcase what those higher priced models can do. Would definitely recommend.

I went back and forth for several months deciding if I wanted the series x or series s. At the end of the day, I realized that for me personally, the Series S made the most sense. Sure the X has a few more features graphically but I have a really good PC for that. This is perfect for how I play games and the type of games I play personally. It's reasonably sized, has good performance, and just fits me. I would recommend getting the memory expansion card if you can find a deal on it. These days 4-5 AAA titles will fill the available memory. It's not a requirement to get that expansion card however as it will keep your progress files intact even when you uninstall a game to make space for other titles and any title you buy can be added back later or on another series x/s console elsewhere. Glad to Add this one to my collection and given the opportunity i'd buy it again!

This is my fourth XBox in my lifetime (OG, One, One S, Series S). This one works great. It is quite a bit smaller than even the One S that it replaced. I have it standing on the edge to conserve desk space (be sure you place it away from the edge so that it won’t fall to the floor if you happen to tip it over). I have not had any problems with heat. Games run properly and pairing devices (Elite 2 Controller and Xbox Wireless Headset) work great. Only complaint is that you can’t attach an external USB SSD and play games from the external storage. All games must run from the built-in storage or the optional Seagate Storage Expansion that plugs into a slot on the back. :(

Awesome little machine you get so many features and power in such a small and simplistic package. The console is super compact, blazing fast and super quite. Power is very impressive for such a small machine, games run very smooth and look crisp depending on your display. You are getting next gen features like ray tracing and quick resume, the latter of which is not even available on very pricey high end PCs. On the downside you can only download games, but with the value of gamepass, the transitioning of software to digital platform and the danger of going into stores during this pandemic I see many advantages to going all digital. Also you do not need internet to play games already installed on gamepass. You only need it to install new games.

Surprisingly capable for such a tiny console. If you plan on playing on a 1080p screen, this is the machine to buy. (It certainly can output 4k with HDR, but the Series X has higher frame rates and better visual effects.) Completely silent and no disk drive to wear out over time. Another awesome feature -- look into using this for emulation using Retroarch. There are lots of tutorials on Youtube about how to install and play your old Nintendo, SNES, Dreamcast, Playstation, and PS2 games in retail mode (doesn't need Developer mode access). My only concern is only having 512gb of storage. Either buy the storage expansion card or use a USB hard drive because you're going to want to download and play everything on GamePass and you'll run out of storage sooner than you think. TLDR Fantastic value for a great little console.

I've had the Series S for a few months now and I have no bad things to say about it. Load times are great with the SSD, games look good, and everything just works the way you want it to. The value is also amazing if you pair it with Game Pass. Sure, you can get more power and built in storage with the Series X, but for people who game casually and don't care too much about having 4K graphics, the Series S is a no-brainer. I also like the design of it, it's very compact and looks nice enough to be displayed front and center of your entertainment center or even right next to your TV. All in all, it's a great little machine and I can't think of a reason to give it anything other than 5 stars. GG Microsoft!

Such a powerful machine I bought this for my 6 year old while I have the series X tower but the series S runs amazing and the biggest downfall is the memory but the price difference is favoring the series S just delete games and keep a few in rotation because this machine is extremely powerful n fast and looks beautiful in games im happy with this purchase and I paid more for my Xbox one being 375 after taxes when it first came out and I paid 315 for this beast after taxes. My son loves for the price point you cant beat it

Using with my new LG 45 in monitor. This console is better then they used to be. I will say im not a fan of the lack of disk drive. They only made this a 500gb console. And there is no disk drive... any game these days require 200-300 gb for download which takes 1/3 of the drive space alone... requiring a external drive to cover space if you play multiple games

I'm definitely not a gamer in any sense of the word. The last gaming system I owned was the PS1. Or Nintendo 64, I know cause I rocked the heck out GoldenEye. What I like the most is the size, the value, and adding a monthly subscription to game pass makes it worth the money spent on the console. I also use it as my media hub, with the controller it's easy to navigate but adding a compatible media remote makes streaming, video watching, and app switching easy. Definitely recommend this gaming system for it's value and capabilities.

Next Gen Console gaming on a budget.

Paired with Xbox game pass, this thing is a great little machine. It's a serviceable machine for the next gen gaming and I'd have no problem recommending this to anyone looking to get into the next-gen console gaming on a budget. The one problem is the internal storage size. You can get the officially licensed expandable storage by Microsoft, or you can just get external storage and store more games on that. You'll have to move the games from the external to internal, but that's faster than having to redownload the games each time. However, if you like the idea of physical discs and true next-gen, I'd save up. This machine does well at what it is designed to do.
