Very nice console, works great with my 4K LCD TV. Really like the new design on the Xbox controller, sleek and user friendly. Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase and would highly recommend it!

This console is a game changer. Load times, FPS, temps you name it, this thing is rolling over the competition. I play pc primarily and use this when I have friends over. I notice similar load times to that of a multi-thousand dollar rig.

Microsoft has done an excellent job with the Series X/S. The One S was pretty good, but this one blows the doors off that one. It runs pretty cool and it is really fast. Have yet to try connecting an external hard drive, but if it is anything like the One S then it should be a cinch. I also need to give tons of kudos to Best Buy for how they managed their new stock between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I managed to get a unit with time to spare before Christmas thanks to the "waiting line" they instituted to release stock during the day after they replenish some. It worked as advertised and made it significantly harder for the 3rd party re-sellers from buying-up the newer stocks. Many thanks Best Buy for the forward thinking and change to allow a more level playing field in acquiring these hard-to-find units. We had a blast in Christmas thanks to this.

These are fantastic!!!!! I have the 1TB for my home, I’ve purchased 2 for my kids, and 1 for my grandson. There easy to take with you on any occasion. Great for TV streaming. Resolution is beautiful and system is fast. It will fit in nearly every place in the house cause it being no bigger than a shoe box. Highly recommend. I only wish expansion cards weren’t so expensive.

I'll keep this review short and quick Pros & Cons Pros- -Great for emulation -backwards compatibility for Xbox 360 and XBOX games run at 1440p -Great for media playback -Price is decent for what this does however try to get this console on sale not full price Cons- -Backwards compatibility for xbox one games do not get any benefit aside from unlocked framerate games -Backwards compatibily for xbox one games it runs the xbox one games not the one X games for some odd reason when this console is cleary powerful enough to do so -Games optimized for Series S still run terribly as of this writing -I would only recommend this console for people with 1080p monitors UNLESS ur using it for backwards comp. for 360 and before games then you get the resolution boost to keep it short save ur money for the series X dont give in to this

Its small, quiet, and a lot of fun. Got it for myself and a roomate and we both can use it when we want. No disc slot which is fine for me. I dont need to have that as i stream everything anyway and i dont care about return value on trade in. For thise that want to buy physical discs this is not for you. The smaller memory is kinda nnoying but truth be told i dont keep to many games on it at once so no impact yet. Overall i would recommend for a fun gather around or hey maybe its just for you, wither way i think youll enjoy

As someone enjoying the Xbox Game Pass, this new console was an inexpensive transition to the next generation. Having game pass allows me to play on multiple devices whenever I want, but when I really want to see great graphics and a quick boot process, powering on this console and being on my games in less than 30 seconds make it so much better. My original Xbox One took so long to load, and thats an issue of the past with the Series S. Absolutely lovd this console!

Great affordable console! This is really a gamepass machine, it is well worth every cent of $300! It does 1080p 60hz on most but not all games! A huge upgrade from the xbox one s, not so much a big upgrade from xbox one x!

No 4K TV? The Series S is Perfect For You

If you don't have a 4K TV, then buying this thing is a no-brainer. No need to buy a Series X or PS5 until your TV set up is upgraded. You're essentially getting games at 1080p, however they run incredibly smooth at 60fps. The system targets 1440p but I wouldn't expect that until further down the line. Load times are super fast and rival some gaming PCs. Xbox has an optional membership for its games (think Netflix for games). When a first-party game (Halo, Gears of War, Forza, Elder Scrolls, DOOM, Fallout, Ori, etc.) is released, it immediately becomes available for download. I'd highly recommend joining Game Pass if you purchase the disc-less Series S.

Good system that's low priced without dealing with dvds. This feels more next level because you got access to your library of games instantly with a push of a button. As long as Microsoft supports the console, this is 5 stars.

We purchased this Xbox a few years ago now. Compared to the Xbox ones there’s a lot less issues. We like the no disc option, and to be able to run TV programs like Netflix and Disney+, which sales it an easy thing to grab to take on vacations so we have all of our shows/movies available. It’s very small and compact, and the cord to this doesn’t have that giant surge protector box.

Actually very disappointed in the XBOX series S. It is mainly the performance. I have a series X and am mainly a PC gamer. the X and S are TOTALLY different devices and are seemingly years apart with graphical power and speed. Do not get an S if you care about having good graphics. It simply does not have the power output it should for the price of the console. The ONE X is actually much better graphically than the S without the NVMe storage for load speeds. The games that are at 120hz honestly look like Xbox 360 titles downsampled to 720P and even 480. Look the GPU specs up for yourself. The series X is worth way more than the price gap between the two. Get the series X! Trust me.. I have both and a one X!

My first Xbox and it rips. I have always been a PS guy, but when they introduced GamePass for Xbox I REALLY wanted to give it a try. My PS5 is my main machine. But this gets me into Xbox for cheap. Been worth every penny. Tons of games right out of the box. Plus you can find 360 games for dirt cheap. Add to that the fact that it can run emulators from Atari all the way through PS2 and you have a beast of a console.

This is a pretty good console. I also have the PS5 now so I use this much less and my siblings really use it as their own now. But for a while, it was my primary console and it was great. The Xbox interface is so smooth and simple to use. I had the Gamepass while I used it and it allowed me to play so many games without buying them outright. One of the bigger downsides of the console is the internal storage size which really only allowed me to have a select few games installed to play at any given moment. I knew that storage would probably be an issue when I purchased it but I only knew for sure once I already had it. Other than that, it ran every single game I played on it smoothly and its smaller form factor helped me save space.

I bought this console because I couldn't get my hands on a Series X because of the scalpers galore. I also refuse to pay $800+ for a $500 console. So I opted for the less powerful Series S console. That being said...this console is amazing!! I'm not the type of gamer that focuses on every pixel and framerate, or the density of the graphics. I'm just a gamer. If the game looks pretty, I'm satisfied. Series S does a great job at displaying these games. I play on a 27 inch LG monitor. The picture is amazing. The only thing I would complain about is the storage. By the time the OS is factored in, you only have a little over 300gb of space. Unless you buy external storage.

    Most people don’t need a Series X

If you’re on the fence and think the Series S is only a 1080p game console...think again. Every optimized for X|S game that I have played (which is most) has run in stunning 4K 60fps with HDR. I upgraded from Xbox One S and this console looks and runs light years ahead. You will not be disappointed if you can’t get your hands on the Series X. The Series S will give you more than you would expect. The absolute only reason I would say to wait for a Series X is if you have a brand new 4K 120fps tv or monitor. Surprisingly the Series S can actually run 120fps but only at 1080p which is amazing for the size and price of this console. I don’t plan on upgrading my tv for another few years so the Series S is more than enough for most people. Just buy it and you will love it. It’s brought my love for gaming back. Thanks Xbox!
