Not a fanboy, just an average gamer
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good. I'll start by saying I'm not the Xbox fanboy. I went for both systems but couldn't snag a PS5 but was able to get the series X and S on the first drop. Now for the series S, the console has been running very smoothly and is quiet. I've seen a noticeable difference in download speed which is a nice improvement. As for the temperature, I have noticed a fair amount of heat being put off after running for an hour on the same game as the series x model which isnt the best. It feels a bit like a small infrared heater. I did check the temperature of the series S model after an hour of 2k and it read out around 113 degrees fahrenheit. Overall the series x and the S are built very well.

It Is An Xbox....What else do you want?
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Thing is still working. I leave it on all the time and haven't had any issues. Make sure you clean it every now and then so dust doesn't coat it.

Great console, invest in a higher quality control
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very reliable. For the price of the console you're really getting a lot. Quick resume is a great function, just don't rely on this function for online games, for obvious reasons. It loses one star because the xbox one controller that is included got stick drift within 6 months.

Awesome Christmas Gift
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my stepson for this Christmas. I was surprised I was able to get one since it's sold out everywhere. I just happened to be browsing on best buy and saw there was one left available and I jumped on it quick. I was trying to find an old gen bundle for my stepson but everything is sold out. My stepson has autism and he really likes playing on the xbox so I thought I would get him his own for Christmas. I have the xbox series x so I know this won't disappoint. Best of all it's digital because he can't really handle discs with out scratching it or putting it back in it's case. I know he will love it.

Fantastic... If you know what you're getting
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Xbox Series S does exactly what advertises. You get a solid "next gen" experience for a budget price. OS and feature-wise, you're getting a similar experience to the Xbox Series X. I feel it best to really break things down via a Pros and Cons list: Pros: - Cheapest entry point into next-gen - It's small! So much so that it makes the PS5 and Series X look like monsters Cons: - Only 512Gb of storage, with a little over 300Gb available after you take the OS into consideration -- There's an additional 1Tb storage card you can buy, but at $200 it makes the Series S as expensive as just buying the Series X - Backwards compatible games play in Xbox One mode, not Xbox One X enhanced - Most "next-gen" games play at 1080p, the console upscales them to 4K but it's nowhere near as "clean" as the Series X Personally, I would recommend this as a console for someone who just wants to play Game Pass and/or Microsoft's exclusive games. If you're looking for a console for a younger kid, this could also be a great companion. If you're an adult that would prefer a Series X or PS5, wait until they're available. The Series S makes too many compromises.

Price is RIGHT!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Okay, not as good as the Xbox Series X, but...definitely worth the price. I have had both systems and can tell a SMALL difference with the performance, but overall, this for me was the better choice because of the price being less than the X by about $200!

Perfect Console for Me
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had Xbox consoles since the beginning. As an all-around media center, I bought Series S to replace S. The console is surprisingly small and even though it no longer has optical connection, HDMI connection does the job for audio connection. It still works with the media remote and the visual quality for all streaming services I use is as good as i expected. I am not concerned with storage and lack of disc drive. I feel that this is a perfect console for me as it was available to me when I wanted to buy it and BestBuy manager made it easy for me to purchase when I traded in my Xbox One S.

Xbox series s
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the console came with original packaging and everything. the controller and xbox both looked (smelled) and felt new. i will say that the 512gb is very low considering you really only get around 350gb because the system software takes up a ton of space. but besides that it runs perfect and i have had no problem with it. i would recommend buying open box.

Great Console and Value
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great gaming console. I like it better than the playstation. Xbox game pass subscription makes a great addition. Plenty of great games for everyone out there. Backward compatibility is the best. The only gripe is not enough onboard storage. In addition an option for physical game disks would be nice. However you can use external storage for older generation games, such as an external hard-drive. However Microsoft's proprietary expansion card is required for next generation games. Overall great value.

Love the compact form
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the new Xbox... I bought the series S reluctantly as I was not able to get the series X. I won’t go into the feature comparison as that is available at several places. Microsoft has finally got this system right for gamers. The instant resume is amazing. I have verified backward compatibility of games all the way back to 360, but only digital purchases work. I do wish Microsoft would bring back Kinect and some way to access disc! I have several docs through different generations and knew that those discs will not work when purchasing. But the series X if you can get one and have a lot of discs, if not the series S is perfect: small and compact.
