Almost as good as Series X

I paired this with a 1TB external drive to total the storage to 1.3TB or something close, and I also plugged in an external 512GB SSD for older games in the XBOX / XBOX 360 era. The console is paired with an LG nano85 65" 4K 120 hertz TV and this console runs very well. The response time is great and playing on it is a dream come true. I would definitely recommend this console as long as you know what you are getting. The base system only gives you roughly 384GB of storage to use of the 500GB. You have been warned.

I purchased two of these for my kids as I am still holding out for the Series X. Let me say that these tiny machines run games way better than my XB1X. I’m jealous of how fast they load games. When I get a chance, I sneak in some play time on them. Outriders runs so smooth on them. Only bad thing is the small hard drive, but I purchased external drives for them and they work great. All enhanced games go on the internal and not enhances stay on the external. For the price… with GamePass… it’s the best deal in gaming.

I didn’t realize it didn’t have a compartment for discs but honestly it doesn’t even matter because if you get the game pass you’re set for a long while! I got it for my fiancés birthday last year and he fell in love too! And I was hooked the moment Hogwarts came out! Ran beautifully on the console and im tempted to buy another for mommy living room

Owned for 3 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1440p@120 this lil bad boy looks and performs outstanding you cannot go wrong with this especially if you don’t own an series x yet and want something to enjoy while waiting for an x or if you own a PS5/ Switch and looking to get an Xbox without breaking the bank this is the machine you want keep in mind it’s digital only and memory is small less than 500g so you will need to get external memory which they have plenty out there for affordable price or invest in a ssd to play the nex gen games but that cost just as much as the console itself smh

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coming from an Xbox One X using an HDR10 capable 4K monitor to a Series S, I found that the Series S had the same resolution as my One X. I was able to do 4K, HDR10 gaming as on my One X. The major difference I noticed it that the load times are a lot faster. The only drawback I've noticed with the Series S does not have an optical port for my headset. I had to revert back to my old set that plugged into the controller. Since the Series X is hard to get, at this writing, I am happy with my purchase as I met or exceeded my expectations. "The Series S is so small!"
