    Gaming Couple Review

I think Best Buy has probably handled stocking these better than most retailers did, especially with how hard these are to find. This was my second Next-Gen console, this one for my wife, who was using my hand-me-down Xbox one S. Best Buy made it simple and easy to surprise my wife and have her pick it up herself. This was an added touch that I really appreciate their app having. Best Buy did a 10/10 on this purchase. The Console Itself: It’s definitely not the Series X in terms of processing power, which led to a loss of fluidity in frame rate at times, but this was far and few between, happening exclusively on large MMORPG’s Such as Black Desert. It’s internal storage is laughable, considering large games can be 100’s of gbs. An easy fix is to just pick up a 2 tb hard drive from seagate. That’s what she did, and now she has more room that I do. Overall, it was a great buy for us. If you’re looking to game with your partner, the series S is an awesome option!

The Xbox Series S is a compact and affordable next-generation gaming console offered by Microsoft. Here's a review of the console based on its features and performance. Design and Build Quality: The Xbox Series S features a sleek and compact design that is significantly smaller than its counterpart, the Xbox Series X. It has a white color scheme with a black vented grille on top. The build quality is solid, with a premium feel despite its smaller size. The console is lightweight, making it easy to move around or fit into smaller spaces. Performance: While the Xbox Series S is less powerful than the Xbox Series X, it still delivers impressive performance for its price. It is capable of rendering games at up to 1440p resolution with support for ray tracing and variable refresh rate. The console also features a custom SSD, which significantly reduces loading times in games and allows for quick resume features. It is worth noting that the Series S targets 60fps performance rather than the higher frame rates offered by the Series X. Game Library: The Xbox Series S is part of the Xbox ecosystem, which includes Xbox Game Pass, a subscription service that provides access to a vast library of games. This gives players the opportunity to explore a wide variety of titles, including both new releases and older classics. The console is backward compatible, allowing you to play Xbox One, Xbox 360, and even some original Xbox games. Additionally, the Series S supports Smart Delivery, which ensures that you get the best version of a game for your console. User Interface and Features: The Xbox Series S runs on the same user interface as the rest of the Xbox One family, with a user-friendly and intuitive interface. It offers various entertainment apps and streaming services, making it a versatile entertainment center. The console also supports backward compatibility with Xbox One accessories, so you can continue using your existing controllers, headsets, and other peripherals. Value for Money: The Xbox Series S is an excellent choice for gamers on a budget or those who don't require 4K gaming. It offers a significant leap in performance over the previous generation, supports the latest gaming technologies, and provides access to a vast game library. Its lower price point compared to the Series X makes it an attractive option for casual gamers or those with limited space. Conclusion: The Xbox Series S is a compelling choice for gamers looking for a more affordable entry into next-generation gaming. While it sacrifices some power and 4K capabilities compared to the Series X, it still delivers impressive performance and features a robust game library. If you're primarily focused on 1080p or 1440p gaming and want access to the latest Xbox titles, the Series S is a solid choice that offers great value for money.

    Game Pass Next Gen Console

Purchase the Series S along with the Series X. The purpose for my Series S is for another room in the home as a Game Pass console. Though the S is not as powerful, has much less storage space than the X, and no Disc drive; it is still a great console if you know what you're getting into. It is a download only console. I would highly recommend using it as a Game Pass console. A great affordable entry into next gen. The pros is the SSD is the same one in the Series X. Very fast. it's a day and night difference compared to the previous generation of consoles. Once again, storage space is not much. Would suggest storing games on a HDD and switch back to the internal drive when you want to play more games utilizing the speed of the SSD. If you decide to buy the officially licensed Seagate SSD card you might as well go for the Series X.

My oldest son didn't want the console at first but he's really enjoying it. Best part is I don't have to worry about disk being missing or scratched up, also can't beat the price. If you don't already own a xbox and not so it's attached to a disk drive this is your best option the disk drive is the only big difference between the two anyway

My biggest complaint with this is the storage size. But other than that’s it’s extremely quiet, I can still play all my old digital Xbox games, and Game Pass is essential since there’s no disc drive, but I can’t remember the last time I bothered buying a disc.

I puchased this as a second Series console for my basement and traveling. I had the Series X and PS5 already but I wanted a system that I could easily move for room to room. I was pleasantly supprised with the quality of this little system. Being that its $50 less than the Nintendo Switch Oled this is the cheapest of the current systems and dollar for dollar the best! When pared with a Gamepass subscription the value and affordability simply can't be matched. $10 a month for over 100 games with new ones added all the time beats $70 for a game that only lasts 5-6 hours imo. Parents should really consider this system if shopping for a video game system this year.

Next gen gaming at a fair price! Wish Microsoft can produce more and be available for the upcoming holidays. Wish it had a bigger hard drive 500gb just isn’t enough since this is an all digital version so all games have to be on the hard drive.

Excellent if you have unlimited internet plan and can redownload whatever games you want to play at the moment since the hard drive is small, but it’s fast, and looks decent, however I’d recommend the series X instead and the 1tb expandable memory.

We love our Xbox! We use it every day. Decided to upgrade and switch brands because the competitor product was not worth the price to us. This is a great console, and offers many of the same games that you get on other consoles. It offers a lot of entertainment for a great price. Has enough storage for probably 10 large games max, maybe 20 smaller games. Never had any issues with crashing. Game pass is a huge plus and definitely worth the extra money.

Absolutely love my purchase decision. I was skeptical about going with the Xbox Series S over the X. I actually was coming from a Playstation 4 Pro console. This decision was 100% worth it. Yes, games run in 1440p, but you don’t know a big difference because of the higher frame rates (120hz). The high refresh rate does require a capable monitor or TV. Xbox Gamepass is a game changer. In my opinion, this is the best deal in gaming. Period. Also I’m happy that I didn’t spend the crazy money for a Series X, and did have to buy a 4K high refresh monitor. Those things are crazy expensive. Save the money, this is a great product. One note: I did have to quickly buy the storage expansion. Gamepass makes you want to download all the games.

At the price point this is a great console. What you need to know is this. Yes this is a 1440p console. However, if you do not have a 4K capable display, you can not output in HDR. This is such a huge oversight. This product is sold as a 1440p console, yet, you cannot enable HDR unless you can output 4k on your display. I docked one star for this very reason.

Great purchase! Basically brand new in the box. Everything came with it except the hdmi chord. However, Best Buy did give me a $25 gift card to replace that mistake. I’ve had this Xbox since October, it is now June and it’s great with no problems. I did have stick drift on the controller that came with it a couple months after receiving. But stick drift is pretty common. Other than that 10/10 would recommend.

    Good but Not Great

Let me start by saying that this is not nearly as good as the Series X or the PS5. If you are someone who does not have a 120hz 4k tv, this is your system. If your worried about space, ask what games do you play and how many do you constantly play. I play a couple of Series S/X games but put all the Xbox One games on an external drive. So, this works perfectly.

As you can add storage to the Series S, it can size-wise compete with the X and PS5. Running-wise, it's pretty smooth. There may be a few hiccups here and there on AAA games, but overall? It's a great buy--except that the controllers sometimes get stick drift and/or their trigger springs wear down. But that's a problem with many current-gen controllers, so it doesn't knock down my overall feeling about the console any.

So far the BEST gaming system I've ever purchased!

Let me start off by saying this is the best $300 i ever spent, and the price to performance ratio is insane. This console is so important to have in these times of inflation, insanely high pc parts, and hard to get PS5/Series x consoles (although the series x is easier to get than the ps5 now). However i noticed some unrealistic expectations people have for this console. The series s was always marketed as a budget lower spec'd next-gen console that is a 1440p machine which is half-lie,and half-truth. It's only a 1440p machine if you play at quality mode 30fps but for people that want 60fps it is very much a 1080p machine. The downside, though, is that you’ve only got a woefully small 364GB of usable space to install games and apps on, and that can go quick. I was at 96% capacity with a total of eight games – five beefy blockbusters and three smaller indie games. That’s even with Microsoft’s Smart Delivery system that lets developers tailor their games specifically to the Series S. Gears 5, for instance, is only 55.1gb compared to 71.9gb on the Series X because the S doesn’t need the full 4K textures. My simple kind of fix for that is the BRILLIANT cloud gaming feature!! Although some games may require a faster internet speed speed.
