Great little Gamepass machine
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great little console (emphasis on little). It's not going to get you 4K/60 FPS in all games but this console is for folks that don't care about that but still want a "next gen" experience. This has the same fast storage as the Series X so load times are super fast on almost everything. Fantastic for Gamepass as there is no disk drive here so digital games is all you get. This is a great secondary console or unit for a secondary location (I have an X in the Den and an S in the downstairs rec room). I do have 2 complaints...one is general to the Series consoles and that is storage expansion cost. Was hoping other vendors would be offering solutions but it's currently only Seagate and the price is high. The other issue is specific to the Series S and that's the fact that it doesn't play the Xbox One X enhanced versions of games due to a lower memory spec than the One X. This means that when playing older backward compatible games that were enhanced for the One X (which released in 2017), you don't get those enhancements and are playing the standard Xbox One version. Not a huge deal as we move forward into the new gen but worth pointing out. TL;DR, Great little console, storage fast and gamepass is great.

Great for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The next generation of gaming is here, and it's pretty good. For the price. There aren't any "blow your mind" exclusives yet, but a lot of games look and run better on these new consoles. GamePass is an amazing deal, and definitely shows the value of the console. All in all, $300 is a great price on a next gen console, especially considering you'll have it for almost a decade to come.

Small in size but its pretty reliable
|Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasnt so sure about this model since i never owned an xbox, but giving this guy a shot at a cheaper price was a great idea, some games and geforce now allowed me to play old school games that aren’t available on the ps5 and I’m having a blast with it

Best console for price value!
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great console! I usually prefer the concept of disc for consoles but considering disc drives always have issues over time this console makes the most sense. Has the benefits of the series x but won’t have future issues.

Xbox Series S: Next-Gen Gaming on a Budget
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Xbox Series S is a great pick if you’re after a budget-friendly next-gen console. It’s small, runs quietly, and delivers super smooth gameplay. No disc drive, but with Game Pass, you’ve got tons of games to play, so you won’t miss it. Load times are crazy fast, and it handles most games really well. If 4K isn’t a must for you, the Series S is totally worth it!

Clean and crisp
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this for our son and purchased an extra controller in his favorite color. The learning curve isn’t big and he gets to play all the games he wants with our Microsoft membership. He occasionally will want to purchase game packs which are so much easier to do than brand new games all the time. On special occasions we pop into Best Buy and get him a card for him to spend on the Xbox. We do have fast internet which helps in ensuring he has no buffering in his console. Looks so stylish on our tv stand too which is a plus. No more piles of games next to the console.

Great
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly one of the best affordable gaming options if you want to get into next gen. Pick it up with a gamespass or gamespass ultimate subscription. You dont need to buy the $200 expansion card this system is compatible with regular external hard drives, you will have to move the xbox series optimized games back and forth depending the hard drives but its a nice option.

The beast we didn’t deserve
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start off by saying that I got a Series X first and I LOVE IT so I wanted to have a secondary console so that I didn’t have to be moving or transporting my Series X around wherever I wanted to play. So I thought to check out the Series S to see what it had to offer. All I can say is WOW! I love my Series S, same gaming experience, but in a more portal form factor. I would say I play more on my Series S now because it continues to blow me away in terms of what it is capable of producing out of the “budget console”. On paper I’d say the Series S is between a ps4 pro and Xbox one x, but what Microsoft did to maximize its capabilities to give you that next gen experience, was a job well done! If you were on the fence about this, don’t be! This console is worth every dollar. Keep in mind that not all games will look as crisp as on the Series X BUT this little box still can produce 4K at 30fps which is still enough for titles but you lower the resolution to get more FPS in more fast paced titles and the picture still looks good. Also the 4K up scaling I’d say is very good, maybe not the best but remember this console came out less than a year ago and improvements will only make this more of a sleeper beast with time. GET IT

Great bang for the buck
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was fortunate enough to get a Series X day one through Microsoft (though it took forever). A couple months later I got another Series X for my daughter and a PS5 digital for myself the same day. All fine consoles. But I was taking up too much time on my 65" OLED when my wife wanted to watch TV, so I bought a Series S and connected it to my desktop monitor. Couldn't be more pleased. It's a solid console with great loading speed, graphics are perfectly fine, etc. I ended up giving it to a long-time friend who was out of work for a very long time (but now back to work) - we met on the original Xbox (and have never met in real life for that matter). He loves it as well. Then my dad (who is in his 80s) has an older original Xbox One, and wanted to play MS Flight Simulator. So I bought him one as well. He loves it, and we fly together from time to time. It's an awesome console.

Great Console in a Small Package
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I’ll start off saying my primary console is a PS5, I wanted one of the next gen Xbox’s to play the exclusive games. I didn’t have super high hopes for this console as it is the entry level Xbox instead of the Series X. However, I was very wrong. This little thing is fast, has good graphics, and you can’t go wrong with Game Pass. When I’ve had Xbox’s in the past, all my games have been digital anyway so the Series S works great for me. For $300, this is a fantastic console especially if your game library is mostly digital. The only drawback I’ve found is the storage space that’s available. Out of the box, I believe you get around 360 GB which isn’t a lot considering the size of games nowadays. I ended up getting the Segate 2TB external that works perfectly with it, it was around $100.

Love this Xbox
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only reason I got this Xbox, was because of the value of Gamepass, I’m not planning on buying any games for it. Nonetheless, this Xbox had definitely surprised me, the speed of the ssd is amazing, quick resume works incredibly with many games and with the addition of Ea games to gamepass, the value of gamepass has gotten better. If you are someone who wants an entry console to video gaming, I would recommend this console with Ultimate gamepass. Worth every penny

Worth upgrading from One X
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What a difference next-gen feels. While I was worried the Series S wouldn't feel next-gen compared to my Xbox One X, I can confirm the differences are well worth the investment. It's still up for debate if the Series S or X is the better bang for your buck, but if you're looking to enter next-gen gaming at entry level cost you can't go wrong with the Series S. The hardware itself is a sleeker, and I would argue more visually appealing than the Series X. Yes it's not as powerful, but if you don't have a larger 4k tv, you'll probably not even notice the graphical difference. Next-gen games are still missing, but with so many previous generation games receiving free X/S updates, it is a blast to play year+ old games at their peak. Examples like Mass Effect Trilogy at 60 fps, or Star Wars The Fallen Order 60 fps are a noticeable improvement. That, along with the significantly faster load times and quick resume feature, make this overall a much better console gaming experience over last gen hardware. For $300 you can't go wrong with this next-gen hardware, make your deal even sweeter and sign up for gamepass, where you can play Microsoft first party games on launch day for no additional cost.

Catch it when you can!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is certainly hard to get at this time, but worth the effort and the wait. It's not as powerful as the series x but it doesn't need to be because its 1080 not 4k. So if a powerful console that does it all on 1080 is what you want - this is it. Get the gold or better yet, get the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate 3 months for $1 and add more months by watching for discounting.

Good and affordable but not good on download space
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The system its self is very impressive but if your looking for memory space i would recommend getting the xbox X due to having such low memory space it gets frustrating when you want to downloaded a new game of corse there other option like getting a memory card attchment but at that point might as well get the Xbox X this system is best for digital games and if you only really play one or two games the low memory space is really the only issue i have with it if you dont have much money to spend on a system this one is nice and affordable truly is a little brother of the series x
