Definitely worth it.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like many, I was very skeptical about purchasing the Xbox Series S. The internal storage, lack of disc drive and all of the missing hardware capabilites made me really question on whether or not I should just wait for either the Series X or PS5 until I saw it available on Best Buy's website. After thinking it through, I decided to pull the trigger and it definitely is not a regret by any means. I purchased 2k21 which looks absolutely fantastic. I was a huge PS user during the last generation so I skipped out on alot of the proprietary games that were available on the Xbox One and was able to catch up on all of them along with downloading old classics dating all the way back to the original Xbox. I ended up purchasing an external hard drive (must have) to save a chunk of my games. I am playing games now that I completely forgot about from libraries I completely forgot existed and it is amazing. I love being able to relive my childhood and experience the new generation all in one console. For it's price of $299.99 this purchase was definitely worth it

Great value console
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Xbox Series S is a great value for the money and a worthy upgrade from the old Xbox One. It is small and lightweight and is very quiet. Be advised it does NOT have a disc drive. I thought I would miss having the disc drive but I do not. Everything you need, you can download off the Microsoft store. No discs = no hassles. It obviously is not as powerful as the Series X, but you won’t even be able to tell the difference. The only thing I really don’t like about it is that the system hard drive is a meager 512GB. You can get a 1TB expansion card, but in 2021 they are still very expensive, but they are expected to drop in price down the road a bit. All in all, I would recommend the Series S, especially since at the time of this review, the Series X is still nearly impossible to find.

So much in so little
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the xbox series S because I couldn't find the Series X anywhere, it exceeded my expectations. As someone who does not care much for resolution or graphics comparisons the series S was a great purchase. I thought it would be a lot weaker than the Series S and would eventually force me to upgrade, but it played the same games with no difference in graphics (that I could tell). I eventually upgraded to a Series X and gave the S to my brother and it has kept up with the games that have come out since it released. I was genuinely debating on wether to upgrade to the Series X or buy another Series S for myself.

Sweet Deal For an Excellent Product
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Xbox Series S is like the cool, budget-friendly cousin in the Xbox family. It's smaller and way easier on the wallet than the Series X. You won't get the top-notch graphics of the pricier models, but games still look pretty darn good. The all-white design is sleek and doesn't take up much space, which is a win if your TV area is already cluttered. The 512 GB storage fills up faster than you'd think, especially if you download a lot of games. But the fast load times? Totally a game-changer. No disc drive, so you gotta be okay with downloading everything. If you're new to gaming or don't need all the fancy extras, this is a great pick.

Perfect Modern XBOX
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Perfect modern console. Quick load times and Game Pass offers extensive selection. Buy the 512 gig memory card and you're set. 1440 native and 4k upscaling work perfectly on my 65 inch Samsung Q60T do don't mind reviews to the contrary.

It’s only great because you can’t actually fine it
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great little box doesn’t feel like an upgrade what so ever tho it has very fast load times if you want good graphics this isn’t a good console whatsoever I have never seen the stupid series x in stock ever but this little guy is weak found a ps5 finally you can reallly tell the difference as far as textures go if I could get the x I’d probably give three out of four this definitely isn’t the best new generation we have had games hardly changed think back to ps2 to ps3 Xbox one to 360

Xbox marks the Spot!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasn't going to get my youngest son an Xbox because the Series X were all sold out. I also heard some negatives on the Series X with their overheating issues. I decided to go with the Series S after reading nothing but good reviews about it. My son loves it, and it performs phenomenally. I also purchased him a gaming monitor before Christmas for his Xbox One he has. My oldest has the Xbox One S, the digital one with no disc-drive. The Series S is fast, and he has it connected to our modem via an ethernet cable to boost the speed. Even my oldest who was home from school said our internet connection was lightning-fast when hard connected as they were both switching the cable to boost their download speeds. The bottom line is, don't be disappointed if you can't get a Series X. Go with the Series S and get a Seagate 1TB storage card built for the S. You'll be right up there with the X except for supposed higher resolution graphics.

Great Next Gen Console On A Budget
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Superior gaming system for someone that likes to play only occasionally and when they have the time and on a budget. Graphics are better than most consoles (my PS4) and the price point makes it worth it (less than the Series X and the graphics are just as good). You get to play just about all the games in the Xbox library for a small monthly fee just like the Series X. I upgraded the memory storage to have plenty of space on the limited internal hard drive by buying a WD Black 5TB external HD from BB that was on sale so I have no trouble downloading large memory games. I was thinking of upgrading from my PS4 to the PS5 but for the price and availability the S is the better system for me. I had to get in on the early demand for the holidays too so I bought one right away.

Great machine, but wait a little longer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was quick enough to purchase one of these cool little consoles in December. I was pleasantly surprised by how compact the console is. I’m gonna hand you all my man card and call it cute. I was excited at the thought of all the possibilities with this machine. It’s small and light enough to throw in a bag and take with you wherever. Gaming on it was great, games load up very quickly. I hooked it up to a 4k TV and the upscaled 4k looks pretty good to my old eyes. When set up with a 120hz monitor , you’ll be able to take advantage of 1080 or 1440p at 120hz monitor. Gaming at those frame rates was pretty cool and visually impressive, especially with racing games. I still feel like this machine should come with at least 1TB of storage because it fills up quickly and buying external storage is expensive. Sadly, I had to return this console today because it started to lag and freeze on me constantly. It did it with just about every fast paced game I played on it. Fortnite, forza 4. After about 5-10 minutes of playing, I noticed it began to lag a little here and there and then video freezes but audio keeps playing. I dunno if it’s a hardware defect or software glitch but I saw on forums that people are shipping them back to Microsoft when this happens. It’s a lovely little machine and I truly enjoyed it while it worked. I would recommend waiting a bit longer til Microsoft figures out what is causing the problem and fixes it. Perhaps they’ll start shipping them later with a 1TB version also. And don’t pay scalpers the excessive amounts they are asking for any of these consoles. Pros : So small! Fast storage, quick load times Nice modern design Cons : Experienced lag and freezes with my unit Only 512gb of storage Would I recommend? Yes, but wait a couple of months until Microsoft sorts out the problems. But keep in mind that this console doesn’t have a disc drive and space is very limited. You’ll fill it up very quickly. You can use an external SSD but games optimized for Series X and S need to be installed on internal drive or Microsoft’s expensive proprietary expansion drives.

Xbox Is Beating Sony!?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this because I couldn't get my hands on a Playstation 5, and I have to say, this console compliments Game Pass well. More than enough storage for about 10+ games (not AAA titles that take up to 80+ GBs). This is definitely keeping me busy until more Playstation 5's available.

Great
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Xbox Series S is a compact, budget-friendly powerhouse offering fast load times, smooth gameplay, and access to Xbox Game Pass. While its 512GB storage can fill up quickly, it delivers impressive performance for its price, making it a solid choice for gamers seeking affordability without sacrificing quality.

Tiny cute box, but mighty power and value!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a PlayStation guy all my life. Due to shortages, I decided to give this a go since I could find one. Oh Boy! This cute, small machine (it is small!!) is mighty powerful, very quiet, and the controller feels amazing. What sold me is when you combine it with gamepass—there is just no beating the value proposition: I have not bought a game yet, and for 15/mo, you have access to dozen of AAAs (100+ total games), and I find myself trying new game genres because it is for free; or you can stream them right through the console, like Netflix, but for games! Very happy with it. Just buy a rechargeable battery pack for the controller because for some reason, in 2021, they want you to put duracells in the controller...

Very nice console for the price!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up a PS5 for myself and an Xbox series S for my son, and to be honest (and I’m a Sony guy normally) I’m a bit more impressed with this little console! It’s actually silent whereas the ps5 does have some fan noise, and if you have a model with a disc drive. Playing physical games adds to that noise ... The only place that Sony has Microsoft beat is the controller....Well in some ways... The new Xbox controller is an Improvement from the Xbox one controller, a very minor one, but with making only minor improvements, Microsoft has managed to maintain a battery life that we’ve come to expect. The PS5 Dualsense on the other hand, with its new features such as an internal microphone and adaptive triggers suck the battery about 25% quicker than these depending on what game your playing and how much these features are utilized.. overall there are pros and cons for both consoles.. but my list of cons is a bit shorter for the Xbox Series S than it is for the PS5. Buy it if you get the chance! You won’t regret it!

Hard to get, but worth the wait
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best Buy was the only store I could find this system at! It’s much more responsive than last-gen consoles, I couldn’t believe the difference in load times and refresh rates. The new controller is awesome and has a ton more grip than the old ones. Overall awesome product and glad Best Buy had one in stock!
