Customers are saying

Customers commend the Xbox Series S for its affordability, compact size, and impressive performance, especially considering its price point. Many appreciate the ease of use and fast load times, along with the benefits of Xbox Game Pass. However, some users point out limitations in storage capacity and the lack of a disc drive as significant drawbacks. The console's resolution capabilities also receive mixed feedback.

Hello to anyone reading this! I’ve always been a huge Xbox fan for countless years, and was skeptical when it came to the Xbox Series S. It surpassed my expectations, and I actually love this little thing! It’s strong, and extremely portable! Highly recommend for someone looking for a cheaper console, but hanging with the new, powerful consoles.

Awesome little machine you get so many features and power in such a small and simplistic package. The console is super compact, blazing fast and super quite. Power is very impressive for such a small machine, games run very smooth and look crisp depending on your display. You are getting next gen features like ray tracing and quick resume, the latter of which is not even available on very pricey high end PCs. On the downside you can only download games, but with the value of gamepass, the transitioning of software to digital platform and the danger of going into stores during this pandemic I see many advantages to going all digital. Also you do not need internet to play games already installed on gamepass. You only need it to install new games.

I've had the Series S for a few months now and I have no bad things to say about it. Load times are great with the SSD, games look good, and everything just works the way you want it to. The value is also amazing if you pair it with Game Pass. Sure, you can get more power and built in storage with the Series X, but for people who game casually and don't care too much about having 4K graphics, the Series S is a no-brainer. I also like the design of it, it's very compact and looks nice enough to be displayed front and center of your entertainment center or even right next to your TV. All in all, it's a great little machine and I can't think of a reason to give it anything other than 5 stars. GG Microsoft!

I understand that for the true gaming enthusiast, some of the specs have limits that may -in a few years- seem a little underperforming compared to the Xbox x. But for what is optimized forX/S this machine is unbelievable both in price and capability.

I already own a Xbox One S and wanted to buy a Series X since the kids were hogging the Xbox. I settled for a Series S since I couldn’t locate a Series X. So far it’s been really good. I’ve noticed the load times for the games I play has improved tremendously. I play a lot of Forza Horizon 4 and would typically wait 90 seconds on load screens to boot the game, but on the Series S it’s closer to 20 seconds. With quick resume there is zero wait, so that’s been great. My only gripe is the smaller storage on this Xbox vs my One S but external drives are cheap enough! I don’t own a 4K TV so the graphics are fine for me. If you own a 4K TV maybe it will be different for you. I was already playing all digital games so the lack of a disc drive has not been a burden for me. If I absolutely needed to play a disc based game I already have the One S.

    If you can’t find a Xbox Series X or a PS5…

Good console, if you can’t find or afford a Series X or ps5. i have this and a PS5, very satisfied with graphics. Obviously not comparable to a Series X or ps5. But if your are coming from ps4 or Xbox one, it’s a upgrade. Xbox game pass is fire. Gets you into next generation gaming at a reasonable price. Console is very small, you can palm it like a basket ball. Sitting next to my ps5 it’s like a Miata sitting next to a ram 3500. Console is so quiet you can hear yourself blink. And they are super easy to find in stores. I recommend buying an external hard drive because your storage will run out pretty fast, if you have good internet then you can stream games. But that’s not always ideal. Just get the extra storage, and enjoy.

This is an amazing price to be able to have access to the latest hardware in the console world and if you don’t use disks anymore than this is the perfect Xbox! I love how it can actually still play supported games at 120fps without sweating as well. Very small form factor so you can place it just about anywhere. I’d say the biggest downside is it having only 512gb of storage out of the box but it’s an ssd so it’s incredibly fast. There is a 1tb model now for $50 more which is another great deal!

I bought this console for my girlfriend and she loves it. Best bang for the buck if you don’t want to buy the Series X or if it’s out of stock. The console is really powerful and a great option if you like to buy your games digitally and have Gamepass.

I used to gave a Series X before I upgraded to a PC for my personal gaming. As my kids have grown my wife and I decided to get the Series S to change up “TV time”. I’m shcked at the graphic quality, load times, and network speeds for being almost 1/2 the cost of the Series X. Perfect console for those gaming on the sofa in the living room and/or for kids! High recommend. 5 Stars from me.

I was waiting on Ps5 but got tired of waiting to be loyal too a brand and decided if an Xbox became available retail I would go for it!!! The only way to beat scalping is to never buy from them period!!! I love this Xbox I’m very impressed and would say don’t wait for ps5 or even the X, I know some hardcore gamers with 10,000 TVs say the X is better but I have a medium priced 4K 160fps tv and I couldn’t find a reasonable complaint as for space I have 4-5 games downloaded at a time and you can expanded storage easily if needed! Hope this helps one last thing be sure to get game pass ultimate and don’t pay for a game until you see what you can play there for free!

Excellent System! If you don't mind going all digital as I pretty much did with the Xbox One X, then you'll be fine. What amazed me most of all is how fast it is. It literally boots to a ready state twice as fast as the PS5 which I also have.

This a a great console for 1080p and 1440p gaming at 60 fps. It will still look great on a 4K panel as well. If you are coming from an Xbox one console you won’t regret this at all the graphics, load times, and the way it feels is all so much better. The ssd makes all the difference with the loading times and fluidity if the UI. I think coming from an Xbox one X, this is a good upgrade as well, since new games won’t be optimized for the One X anymore in the coming years. If you’re a casual gamer this is perfect, if you’re a hardcore gamer that wants the best fps and best resolution the series X is the better option. One downside is the storage capacity. It is marketed as a 512 gb drive but only 300 and something is usable. I personally don’t play that many games at once so it is fine but if you play lots of huge games then the series x is the better option. I also feel like marketing this as a 1440p console is not truly accurate as most titles run at 1080p 60 and sometimes 1440 30. Overall I am happy with my purchase and it is a great and affordable way to experience next gen games.

I have both the s and the x in two different setups. I actually think I like the S better. Sure the X has more bells and whistles, but the S does just fine and I don't miss the other features

I love my Xbox! I use it in my bedroom when I am relaxing after chemo treatments so I can play Xbox game pass games while laying in my comfy bed or in the living room (super easy to move it from room to room) rather than sitting at my computer that has a very uncomfortable chair. Really love this system and it is replacing my old Xbox 360 that I rarely use anymore but have found myself using this system a lot. I do feel like the controllers aren’t as nice as the Xbox 360 ones. The plastic seems cheaper and the sticks don’t move as smoothly so that is a bummer.
