The best solution is to invest in the Seagate SSD 1TB Expansion Card for Xbox Series X/S, which will add 1TB of SSD storage to your console. Another solution is to add a standard external hard drive, which can be used to store and play Xbox 360 and Xbox One games that have not been enhanced for Xbox Series X/S.

So out the out box you can not play with this unless you have a charger wire or batteries . The series X comes with batteries.

Its perfect paired with gamepass. I was annoyed at the controller coming with AAs and not a rechargeable battery pack.
