Game pass is the best value for gaming
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Over all pretty happy with it . It downloads and starts up much faster then my Xbox one x. The video quality looks great 1440p - 4K upscale on my tv. I wanted the series x but availability is crap. The only thing I don’t like is it’s not native 4K and not having a disk drive aren’t really super important but still would be nice . Major down fall is the storage or lack there of . You can have like 3 titles stored before taking up all your space . The aftermarket memory card will be a must if you plan to use this as your only console. I’m using my usb storage for now for my Xbox one games luckily I only own 3 games formatted for the series s . I will eventually make this console my back up / bedroom console snd upgrade to the series x. But if you don’t have the money for the big guy this console is plenty enough for everyday gaming . I have it four stars because it is a nice console.

Budget Friendly Console
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Normally, I don’t pay attention to Xbox consoles, but as a long time PlayStation user, I can confidently endorse this console. It’s incredibly small, just barely the size of a book, and it runs amazingly smooth, haven’t had any performance issues yet! This console is perfect for someone who wants a new console on a budget!

Overachieving, Impressive, & Delightful
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pairing this with a gaming 1440p monitor is a dream combination. The series S can pump out amazing frame rates and performance on games like Forza Horizon 4 and other larger games while making indie games run to their best potential. Its a gamepass machine with a ton of tricks up its sleeve. If you're considering it just get it, its such a joy and has such a cool sleek design and minimalist footprint.

The console is sleek and compact, making it easy to fit into any entertainment setup. The interface is user-friendly, and the controller is comfortable to hold, with responsive buttons and triggers that make gameplay a breeze. What more could you ask at this price point
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing system especially when paired with game pass. 1440p is perfectly fine imo and looks great, wish the drive was a little bigger but I added a usb c ssd portable (Samsung T5 500gb) for all the xboxone games. Series x was too hard to get (always sold out) and so freaking big, so I actually didn’t mind/kind of prefer series s. You’ll be shocked at how small it is when you open it.

Best console ever
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is truly an amazing console. I was originally going to buy the Xbox series x, but due to the current pandemic, I went with the cheaper option. I am so glad I did. The Xbox series s is so much better then people make it out to be. Really the only downsides to this console is the storage and the disc drive, but even then you can just buy and external hard drive with 2tb of storage. This console is complete and udder overkill for loading games such as gta v. It’s like only 5 seconds and the. You in.

Here we go. Again!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.High quality gaming. Great price! Unit is small, way smaller then i expected. So much tech in such a small package. I hope overheating is not an issue. High end pcs need massive cooling. So far, unit is cool to the touch. Very quiet unit. Graphics are fantastic on 1080p projector. A 4k projector would be even better. Future purchase a must. The only downside for me with the new xbox units, No optical out. I use a stereo receiver and have always used optical for quality sound. Hdmi sound is great and all, but when using a projector to receiver to xbox, there are video issues. Now i have to use audio out on projectorto receiver. If you are using a tv, you won't have any issues. Overall, i give the xbox 4 stars. I wish companies would leave stuff alone. If it isn't broke, don't fix it! Should have left optical out on system. And a kinect port. Now i need the adapter.

Posted .Hey there,
Thank you for sharing your experience and feedback on your new Xbox Series S. If you're concerned about overheating, we recommend placing it in a well-ventilated spot with 2-4 inches of clearance around it and make sure that its vents are unobstructed.
Unfortunately, Kinect has been discontinued and is not compatible with Xbox Series S, even with an adapter.
Best,
Chuck

Overall great console
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first this was my only choice since I initially wanted the series x but since the series x was constantly going out of stock, I settled for the series s. And I gotta say for 300 dollars it’s actually a well worth purchase it processes games faster, and better graphics, so overall recommend for anyone not wanting to spend more than 300$. The only downside I can see to this one is that it all digital. So you’ll need good internet connection to download your games. But other than that it’s very good

Great performance overall
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The series s is a good side choice if you can't afford the series x. I've had good experiences with the console in the past, using it for long hours without it slowing down or anything, i even accidentally dropped it a few times and i would've thought i'd have to go and get it fixed but no problems happened after. The only major problem i had with the series s was the space capacity, after a few games i had to delete some to make space which gets frustrating but you just have to buy extra storage no real way around it which is fine. Still a great console nonetheless.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.if your on a budget and owned the xbox one or xbox one s and don't mind not having a disc drive then this is the perfect console for you very cable console does the job it was intended to do very well.A good entry point for next gen gaming the storage is a little underwhelming but you can use an external hard drive or the very expensive ssd expansion storage to increase game save space i definitely recommend this console it's great for the price and the size is so small doesn't take up much space at all

Budget Friendly
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went with this option because I have a ps5, switch oled, & a pretty good pc that basically already plays Xbox games but I wanted something small and for my nephews to use. This is perfect, that goes for emulation and playing classic games but if you want to install games such as red dead just keep in mind you gotta spend another $200 to expand the storage, at that point just buy a series x since it’ll perform a lot better

Great, if you know what you're getting.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Series S is a fantastic little machine for the money Microsoft is asking for. It supports all new releases going forward in this upcoming generation of games (albeit with some minor graphical and performance cutbacks here and there), Xbox One titles, and select 360/OG xbox games via an incredible backwards compatibility program. You can rest assured that when you purchase this machine you'll have one of the most robust libraries of content available on any console bar none. You can also take advantage of Gamepass, a service that really is the closest you can get to the Netflix of games. With all that high praise, why did I give this a 4 star rating instead of 5? Here is where the concessions made in order to deliver a $300 box with built in ray tracing hardware, supports for 120fps output, SSD storage, all while being smaller than the previous generation's slim model come into play. The Series S does not have a disc drive. If you have a physical collection of Xbox One titles you were hoping to carry into the next generation, this is not the box for you. This is an all digital machine through and through. High frame rates come at the cost of lower resolutions. The Series S supports 4k HDR video streaming as well as HDR gaming, but most games forego higher resolutions for stable 60 or even 30 fps experiences in most cases. 120fps is on the plastered on the outside of the retail box, but apart from select multiplayer titles and provided you have a TV that even supports the frame rate, you likely won't be doing much gaming at 120fps. This machine is best played, and perhaps designed to be played, on 1080p screens. Lastly we come to storage. The internal SSD does wonders for the user experience. Menus, boot ups, and loading for optimized games are suitably quick. Problem is despite the packaging stating the console comes with 500GB of storage, the operating system takes up a large chunk of that leaving you with little more than 300GB of useable storage. Microsoft sells SSD expansion cards to alleviate this some, but at the current eye watering price of $220 for and extra 1TB of SSD storage you may be asking yourself, "why not save the money I would spend on the console plus the memory and instead get the Series X for $500 or better yet the PS5 Digital Edition for $400?" That leads to the conclusion and the biggest selling point for the Series S by far, availability. Both Series X & PS5s are expected to be hard to find products till at least 2023 due to the ongoing global chip supply shortage. If you want to play the newest releases, don't mind playing them at lower resolutions and frame rates, if having a fewer number of installed games isn't a huge inconvenience for you, then this could be the perfect console to buy right now and tide you over until availability for the more powerful machines gets better.

Next gen from tiny box
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was blown away by how amazing this thing is. I wanted to get the series X but can never find it in stock. So I got the series S to hold me over then I will be moving it to my bedroom. The system is so small. I was shocked it how tiny it is. Games look great on it, I have it hooked up to a 55” 4K tv. The only drawback is the no disc drive but I can live with that. Game pass is a must with this system. Don’t sleep on the series S. Next gen games at an affordable price.
