I already tested my monitor with another pc and Xbox which leads me to believe either the Xbox is defected or I bought a bad product

If your son is playing any older Xbox games that are not enhanced for Xbox Series X/S, another option is to invest in a standard external hard drive. Unenhanced games may be played directly from an external hard drive, while enhanced games must be played from the console's SSD.
