    Good Things and Bad Things!

I upgraded from an Xbox One X to the Series X, main reason is that One X does not have Gigabit support via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. One note to make, in the pictures, the Series X looks to be small, it is not, I had to move equipment around in my entertainment center to make room for it. I know I should have looked at the dimensions in specs, but I didn't. Not that big of an issue, just a FYI for the reader. Setup and connecting to Wi-Fi was easy enough. With the new processor games and or apps load very quickly! I did not really notice much difference between the X screens, meaning main screen and subsequent app screens and the One X. Of course, all of my cables are ultra highspeed ethernet cables, so the data throughput is about the same. In order to take advantage of the HDMI 2.1 speeds (48 Gbps) your TV and AV receiver must have HDMI 2.1 inputs and you must have HDMI 2.1 HDMI cables. In my case, my tv and receiver and cables are HDMI 2 hence the screens not looking that much different than the One X. I really did not want to spend several thousand dollars to upgrade my TV, AV receiver and cables so I settled for HDMI 2. BTW, the Series X does come with 1 HDMI 2.1 highspeed cable, one less for you to buy if you upgrade your equipment. Another issue I found, Wi-Fi speeds. My internet connection is 1.4Gbps; when I connected the Series X to Wi-Fi, my download speeds were in the 200 or less Mbps range, usually less. For reference, I have a Netgear Orbi 960 802.11ax Mesh Wi-Fi6 system with speed tests showing 1,400+Mbps (1.4Gbps). I spent several hours on the phone with Xbox support and Netgear. Xbox had no solutions, NexGear's response was... "Please be informed that the Xbox Wi-Fi client is not an AX, it is only an AC. This could be the issue since they are under a different protocol as advised by the expert from the higher department. The Orbi System is operating in AX (Wi-Fi6)" I think there are other issue with Wi-Fi on the Series X as I have a 2019 Dell laptop, 802.11ac, speed tests show 580Mbps + download and a 2016 vintage Samsung tablet that has download speeds in the 250Mbps +. A 6-year tablet that downloads faster than a state-of-the-art Xbox Series X? I did connect a Cat8 50-foot ethernet cable to the Series X and got 750Mbps download. Problem is it would be very difficult to run an ethernet cable from my router to the Xbox, too many walls to go through. I cannot simply leave the cable on the floor, 2 reasons, 1. It would not look good and 2. My dog would have the cable in pieces sooner than later. If you are not willing to spend thousands of dollars upgrading your TV and AV receiver to HDMI 2.1 and are willing to settle for the same resolution you would have with HDMI 2, and the slower download speeds via Wi-Fi, take the plunge. If you already have HDMI 2.1 you are halfway there, you just have to deal with the slower downloads. You might have different results with another type of a Wi-Fi system meaning no 802.11ax or Wi-Fi 6 because the Series X does not support either. One last thing, when I was connected via ethernet, and tried to download game updates, it started at 500+Mbps download but within a minute or less I was downloading at 1.5Mbps slowing to Kbps on and off. 100GB download, 3 days! Xbox servers might have been really busy, I checked online, Xbox said up and running no problems, but nothing about server load. That's it, hope this helps anyone looking to buy or upgrade.

I've been an avid gamer for many years, and I've owned a number of different consoles over the years. When the Microsoft Xbox Series X was released a few years ago, I was immediately interested. I had heard great things about its powerful hardware and its support for next-generation games. I decided to purchase the Xbox Series X, and I've been very impressed with it ever since. The console is incredibly fast, and it can easily handle even the most demanding games. The graphics are also stunning, and I've been blown away by how realistic some of the games look. In addition to its powerful hardware, the Xbox Series X also has a number of other great features. The controller is very comfortable to hold, and it has a number of new features that make gaming more immersive. The console also supports a wide range of accessories, so you can customize your gaming experience to your liking. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase of the Microsoft Xbox Series X. It's a powerful console with great features that will make you love gaming even more. Here are some of the pros and cons of the Xbox Series X: **Pros:** * Powerful hardware that can handle even the most demanding games * Stunning graphics * Comfortable controller with new features * Wide range of accessories * Support for next-generation games * Quick resume feature allows you to pick up where you left off in multiple games * Smart Delivery ensures that you always have the best possible version of a game, regardless of the console you're playing on **Cons:** * Expensive * No disc drive (digital-only version only) * Can be noisy when running demanding games * Lack of some exclusive games compared to the PlayStation 5 Overall, the Xbox Series X is a great console that offers a powerful gaming experience with stunning graphics. It's perfect for gamers who want the best possible performance and features. However, it is expensive and lacks some exclusive games compared to the PlayStation 5.

Worth the upgrade and wait (Fall 2020)

TLTR; I was finally able to secure an online order before Xmas and the wait was worth it. The hardware upgrade alone is enough of a reason to consider buying the Series X. I recommend this console for any avid Xbox console gamer who has a 4k display who plans to watch or use the disc drive. Pros: So far there isn't any new games for the Series X or S, but the current games that are optimized seem to run great for a console. Even older games that aren't optimized are running well on the new hardware. The console is quite and heat management seems to be working as expected. You can use you existing USB external HDD from your Xbox One with the Series X/S. So I'm only adding optimized Series X/S games to my internal SDD while leaving all my other games on the external USB HDD. This is a plus so you don't have to buy the expansion slot card until you really need it. Cons: Nothing built exclusively for the Series X or S are available as of Fall 2020. This isn't a huge downer but it means only current and older games optimized are able that use some/all of the new features. The box itself is bigger than the Xbox One X and S. So it may new fit with your current media center. Note: My current display setup is a Samsung Q80T and the visuals are solid. I suggest getting a display that supports 4k (forget 8k for now) and all/most of the other technologies (HDR, Auto Low Latency Mode, HDMI Variable Refresh Rate, AMD FreeSync) that are now available.

I absolutely love it - I am primarily a PC gamer but the XBOX Series X is very much a PC-like gaming device. The fact it can do Ray Tracing is definitely impressive - especially considering the stand alone cost of RTX level video cards. The ability to remote play on different devices is also a huge plus for me. It is fast, powerful and very easy to use; the ability to attach external drive storage is very handy.

Had been trying to buy one since my One S stopped working on me, Tried on almost every other website but the bots always beat me to it. I was actually able to buy two and give one to my friend from Best Buy. The graphics are almost night and day from my One S and I'm only playing on an HD TV so I can't even start imagining how it will look on a 4K TV. It does get kind of hot so make sure you have good ventilation, I guess that's the power of next gen

I'm coming from an Xbox One X Scorpio. Big difference right away with the solid state drive, 120 frames per second sinking perfectly on my Samsung QLED. Games load quickly, graphics are brilliant and sharp. Gameplay is very smooth with very minimal lag. Most of that would come down to your internet and network hardware, as well as your display type. I chose to use the Game Pass Ultimate and I'm enjoying it so far. A bunch of games to choose from that you can play at any time. Play directly from the cloud or install them locally to the hard drive. The system blends perfectly with all of the components I have in my audio / video system. It doesn't stick out like a sore thumb like the PlayStation 5. I lay mine on its side. Regardless of how you position it, make sure you give it plenty of room to breathe. Mine runs cool as there are no obstructions near the fan vents.

System works great and allows for running games at higher refresh rates and with more demanding graphics than a One X. For the price, you can’t beat the performance. My gaming PC can handle 1440p (6700 XT) but the cost of the graphics card rivals this entire system which has a similarly powerful GPU and more attention paid to optimization by developers compared to PC. Not to mention PC requires a monitor/keyboard/mouse/cables and this includes everything but the 4k TV you probably already have. You will want to pay greater attention to airflow with this system compared with older consoles though; With great power comes great heat. Storage wise, I never use a whole terabyte because I play one or two games at a time and just delete them unless I am actively playing them. But, added storage is a bit spendy.

Tony Hawks 3 and 4 Remaster is gonna be awesome doing all the classic missions on the new system of Xbox Series and Killing Floor 3.
