Better performance than i thought. Wasn't hyped for the Games, just the ability to stop a game, start one,; then Resume a previous one at razor fast loading speed. Thanks!

I was on the sense of buying one of these because the last system that I had was Xbox 360 but I am so glad I made the choice to buy it even though I don't game a ton it's way worth it because of the specs

Nostalgia Meets Modern Gaming - A 5-Star Return to

As someone who dabbled in gaming back in the early '90s, reentering the console scene with the Xbox Series X has been quite the journey. Let's start with the graphics. The leap from pixelated sprites to the stunning 4K resolution and smooth 60 frames per second is mind-boggling. The ray tracing is a nice touch, even if I'm still adjusting to games looking almost too real. Speed has come a long way since the days of waiting for games to load on floppy disks. The Xbox Series X's ultra-fast load times are a welcome change, and the Quick Resume feature is a game-changer for someone used to patiently swapping out cartridges. Storage was a constant concern in the '90s, but the Series X's ample space is a breath of fresh air. The backward compatibility is a blast from the past, letting me revisit classics with a modern twist. The controller has evolved, but it's still familiar and comfortable. The Share button is a new addition that I never knew I needed – capturing and sharing gaming moments has never been easier. In essence, the Xbox Series X has made my return to consoles a pleasant surprise. It seamlessly combines the nostalgia of my early gaming days with the advancements of modern technology. While I may still miss the simplicity of blowing into a cartridge, the Series X has earned its 5 stars as a welcome companion on my gaming journey.

The best console on the market: quiet, powerful, with backward compatibility and free upgrades for older titles. And it's beautiful. Even better when combined with Game Pass.

The Series X is absolutely the best VALUE console... if you can get your hands on one that is... First, the hardware, the Series X has a 1TB NVME SSD, with about 800 GB available after the OS files take over. Compared to the Series S 512 GB with about 360 available for user files, or the PS5's 825 GB with 667 GB of usable space. Why is storage so important? Because next gen games CANNOT be loaded on to an external drive. As of this review (Feb 2021) there are still no expansion solutions for the PS5. Xbox Series can use an external drive to store the games and play backwards compatible games, so there is a bit of a relief if you don't want to spend $220 on a 1TB expansion card. The console itself is surprisingly small, while still monolithic, it is noticeably more compact than previous generation consoles in terms of sheer volume. I found it's far easy to put my Series X into my backpack with some other stuff. I do travel a bit for work so my use case is a bit more unique, but it's nice nonetheless. That being said, you may want to check you can fit it into your entertainment center due to the cuboid shape. The controller isn't a huge departure from the Xbox One generation, the inclusion of a dedicated capture button is a welcome improvement, as is the addition of textured grips and updated VERY CLICKY d-pad. The PS5 controller seems to be having issues with drift due to the new design, so if it ain't broke don't fix it. Performance wise, this is easily the fastest console on the market in terms of actual day to day use. Quick Resume functions far better than the PS5's game suspend function, as I've noticed the Series X can keep a couple of games suspended, even when powered off and unplugged, the PS5 seems to just keep one in memory and only while plugged in. Backwards compatible games absolutely fly, and with the work that Xbox has put in to make BC games perform better I have found myself playing older games that took forever to load. There aren't many exclusive next gen games but Gears 5 is noticeably better looking on a 4K TV compared to last generations powerhouse the Xbox One X. Cross platform games generally have more options on the Series X than on S or PS5. For example on Cyberpunk you have a 60 FPS mode or a 4K mode (that runs at a LOCKED 30 fps and runs at higher quality setting than any other console in terms of ray tracing and npc density). The PS5 only has one option and it appears to be a 60 FPS mode. The weak part of the Series X would be the lack of games if it wasn't for GamePass. If you're buying an Xbox without GamePass you may as well not buy any Xbox as it is THE reason to get into the Xbox ecosystem. Access to every new Microsoft produced game day one is fantastic. I barely purchase games anymore as most of the games I want to play are on GamePass, the inclusion of EA play in Ultimate definitely the way to go. The reason why you may not be interested in an Xbox is the PS5, which frankly at the time of writing this review has a better next gen library. I understand that Xbox studios is working hard on new games but the PS5 has the stronger launch lineup. If you have an existing Xbox library, or don't have a last gen console then the Series X is the far better value proposition as the Series X has 4 generations of games available instantly thanks to GamePass. If you're wanting to check out GamePass but don't want to spend as much money and are more invested in the Playstation ecosystem, it might be more prudent to check out the Series S due to the lower cost of entry. You will be hampered by the significantly smaller drive and the focus on 1080p gaming, which is fine for people looking for a bedroom console or fortnite machine for the kids. In conclusion the Series X is the best console for the money right now, and will likely hold its value far into the future. The PS5 controller issues and lack of expandable storage make it a wait to buy until stock and hardware issues can be sorted out. The Series S will likely be easier to buy and cheaper, but you might find yourself wanting to upgrade in a year or two when next gen games REALLY take advantage of the hardware.

The Xbox Series X is a powerhouse console with cutting-edge specs, fast loading, and extensive backward compatibility. It's ideal if you're looking for top-tier performance and a robust gaming library. Best Buy sale model — great if you're after savings. Standard retail— steady stock, full warranty. Digital-only variant — no disc drive, slightly cheaper. highly recommend
