I've been a long time PC gamer. I was hesitant to buy a console. I've enjoyed playing on friends consoles, but never liked them close to as much my PC. At 350 for this around the holidays, and the price of an upgrade video card alone around 1k, I decided to try it. It did not disappoint. The load times are good. The graphics are good. Controler is great, although it would be nice if it were rechargeable. Overall for the money and game availability, 9 out of 10.

Love the Series X, the load times are fantastic and mind-blowing how fast it is and I love the quick resume feature and the Graphics are great in 4k as well. I heard the rumors about how fast and powerful it was but seeing it for myself takes it to a whole new level. I paid a little more than what the retail value was but to get my hands on the Series X before 2021 plus my original Xbox One started giving me problems so the decision to pay a little more to get one made it a lot easy. Love the Series X

The Soul-Sucking Black Hole of Productivity

Let’s be honest — my Xbox is a beautiful, soul-sucking machine. I bought it thinking I’d play casually… now it’s a full-time commitment I never signed up for. This thing knows exactly how to pull you in: quick loads, smooth graphics, and just enough dopamine to keep you saying “one more match” until the sun’s up and your dreams are crushed. Performance-wise? No complaints. It runs like a dream, barely makes a sound, and the controller feels like it was designed by the gods of procrastination themselves. I tell myself it’s for stress relief… but let’s be real. It’s a time thief in 4K. Sometimes I stare at it and whisper, “You win again.” 10/10 would sell my free time to it all over again.

I enjoy this console a lot. Coming from using the old PlayStation 4 to this has been a nice difference in both the processing and visuals. I was a big Halo enthusiast growing up so going back to the Xbox has been a great throwback feeling with a futuristic feel with the new design. I would definitely suggest buying one through Best Buy as they have great warranties and deals that come with consoles and their connecting devices.

Worth the upgrade from Series S

Been using Series S for a while and started running out of memory space. Given the price of internal solid state drive I decided to just upgrade my console to the X. Pros- Runs a little quicker than the S, added bonus of being able to play physical games and movies, better image quality and refresh rate for a 4K OLED(just make sure you have a fast enough HDMI to make use of the 120hz), 1TB storage(twice as much as the S) Cons- runs a little warmer than the S but barely noticeable, takes up a decent amount more space, 1TB storage (would be nice to have more for the price difference) Overall- glad I upgraded

Superb system. Great backward compatibility, SoFar

This is a longer review, superb system. Great backward compatibility so far (almost as large or comparable to ps3 backward compatible number of games before last two updates). Microsoft has time and room to improve this system. Most importantly, I love the fact that it has backward compatibility for most of my favorite games. :-) There is a list of games that it works with, somewhere, online. It works with my Hd tv. I hope Microsoft will make it support more backward compatible games like muspell, and kingdom under fire series. Their site says they might acquire more licenses to put more games out for Xbox x. I enjoyed getting free levels and other preorder downloads from free download list under Microsoft store (many of which, are unavailable anywhere else). I got all my games on one 8 terabyte hardrive. The same one that I use with my Xbox one s. (Quite a few with great space for expansion-never fill a hardrive all the way as it can degrade over time). This includes subscription games for Xbox live. Some of the older games even play better in Hd. This is my opinion of the Xbox X. On the downside, I was hoping that a vr system and kinetic sensor would, also, be available later for it at a reasonable price. (Doesn’t seem likely at this time.) Even though, kinetic sensor and games for it on the same hardrive does work on my Xbox one s. It would seem though that the technology seems to be available if Microsoft invests in it. Some vr sets can work in hdmi port. Like a larger screen size than my tv. Larger screen size, better graphics usually. (There is still time for this (for Microsoft to do so) to happen.) It (Xbox x) is supposed to have the greatest graphics on paper. (This requires a 4K tv, 4K hdmi cable-I do not have these, yet, and therefore cannot offer opinion on it (the greatest graphics)). However, hd (on Xbox x) works great on my 5 year old 75 inch tv. It is better graphically on hd than Xbox one s (mortal Kombat x) is. The Xbox x internal hardrive has some space on it. It does not make noises (gears of war character) like themed gears of war Xbox one s. Xbox x runs very quietly. I put some plastic color on it (vinyl wrap) and got a second larger controller for it that fits my hand size better. My Xbox one s controllers (and remotes) do work with the system. I bought it. It works great. It allows me to play games that are from Xbox original, which is cool. It’s newer games are great as well (Devil may cry 5). In comparison, My ps3 could play ps1 and ps2 games (I got backwards compatiblility with it (most of them (even unholy war-I did not do the update that wiped the functionality from most systems))). However it (the ps3) cannot do them in hd like my Xbox x. The my hardrive for ps3 did not go work for ps4 etc. Xbox one s additional hardrive format does work with Xbox X. Graphically, on a Hd tv (Xbox X out competes ps3, sega genesis hd, Xbox one s, my brother Xbox one x, and wii (hd. Cable adapter)), it is comparable to ps4. On a 4K tv at Best Buy (generally), it is much better (but it was a brief test). I haven’t found a second port for cable tv on it yet (I will search for it later (I use Xbox one s as it saves hdmi cable space and can port older systems onto Hd tv -even though these are not hd like backward compatible games on Xbox x are)). Xbox X currently supports a large number of backward compatible games, for video games, from its previous systems with mention that it may expand the range. Security on it is not as cumbersome and is really customizable. Some of the apps are interesting and functional as well. (iTunes library and computer connect etc), Hbo tv, net flix, and Vudu work well. Waiting on final halo game infinity to come out, and test use some of the machines extraordinary computing power that it has on paper. Big points: This is a longer review, than I usually write. :-J Once again, superb system. Great backward compatibility so far (almost as large or comparable to ps3 backward compatible number of games before last two updates that wiped functionality from my brother’s ps3(he(my brother) gave me heads up about it)). Things that would help it most: Microsoft has time and room to improve this gaming system. (Add more older games into hd, provide more free levels and bling to induce customers, add Xbox exclusive vr set system with sensor that can work with the Kinect). Future plans: My family was impressed and intends to get multiple systems (as many as six that is four more) as backups for older systems we have (Xbox original, Xbox 360, Xbox one s, and Xbox one x) and for the family eventual future 4K upgrade. The family is optimistic about Microsoft and system backward compatibility. Also, it (Xbox x) has no problem playing disc media like dvds, Blu-ray, music, and older movies as well. I got a warranty with mine and it has had no issues yet (not caught fire either unlike my microwave (black smoke-manufacturer defect) My brother has no issue with his Xbox x yet either.

PC gaming is really expensive, you can hardly find gaming graphics cards now a day. Xbox Series X is just amazing value and it will only get better with the release of next gen games. It has so much potential, much much faster and a lot more capable than the xbox one x. Game Pass is getting better and better, now including EA and Bethesda games as well. It gets a little hot in long gaming sessions but has not crashed or frozen on me yet. Keyboard and mouse works in a lot of single player or non competitive games which is great for gamers coming from PC. I am very pleased with the console, just need more new games to release. Currently it's just offering "Series X Optimized" games which are not built, but just polished for these consoles.

    Great Upgrade But Not Required

I used to play on a Xbox One S before I switched to the Xbox Series X. First things first, the quality and gameplay are a massive upgrade compared to the One S, everything feels smoother. Loading into a game is way faster, maybe 90% faster. I also noticed that my download speeds match my WiFi plan. I have a 500 mbps plan but on the S I would get around 250 whereas the X gives me around 450. Not sure if it’s just my console but my friend also had the same problem. Now to the cons you could say. The X is big so if your old console is in an area with little vertical height, good luck. I was going to put it where my old S went horizontally but it was to big. Another thing is that when you switch to the X, your games become X|S compatible, in order to achieve better load times and gameplay. The issue is that they have to be in the internal storage. Meaning your external storage device is almost completely unless. Now there are some games like Ark that can be played in the external storage but most games require internal storage to be playable. A semi work around would be to just transfer the games back and forth between the two storages has that’s much faster then uninstalling and reinstalling. My honest advice is if your running the Xbox One, you should think about upgrading but with the S you don’t have to as of right now. I really didn’t need to either but I had some cash saved up and decided to buy it. My S is still operating and in almost top condition. The loading time wasn’t really a deal breaker with my S. I play for my enjoyment, I’m don’t really care as much about the 4k, 120 Hz, and stuff like that. Honestly, I can barely tell the difference. If you made it this far, thank you and I hope you have come to a decision.

    Best Console Hands Down!

I have had both the xbox series and ps5 and let me tell you why I kept the xbox and returned the ps5. Xbox series x is the best hands down - Built solid , Runs Very Smooth and Quiet , Hardware is better than ps5 , Quick Resume , Much easier and better organized user interface than ps5 imo , Powering down the xbox series x is way easier and better than going through 3 steps to shut down the ps5 , Graphics look amazing on Xbox series x , Xbox runs games better in 120hz where as ps5 struggles with 120hz, Xbox controller imo is way more comfortable for longer gaming sessions where as dual sense controller starts to cramp my hands after a short time , Internet connection on Xbox series x is way better and downloads games faster than ps5 , Game Pass and Backwards Compatibility on Xbox Series X is awesome as you can play any xbox game all the way back to the original xbox games. Ps+ is very limited and only goes back as far as ps3 games which are streaming only. Also you have to pay for a ps+ subscription to save your data just to save game progress which you don't have to do with xbox. So in other words if you ever have to delete and reinstall a game on ps5 you have to start the game all over. Another win for xbox because you can uninstall a game and reinstall and still continue where you left off. Batteries last much longer with rechargeable battery packs in xbox controllers , Dualsense battery life is much shorter and not that good. In the short time that I had the ps5 I was getting errors saying no internet connection although all my other devices were working fine on 300mbps internet and it also crashed with a black screen and shut down in the middle of a game, Not cool Sony. So to sum it all up imo the Xbox Series X is the best all around console this generation and that is simply the truth and facts. People are starting to realize that the xbox series x is the better console over the ps5 , Why do you think the xbox has been outselling the ps5 , Because it's simply the better console and better value for your money. Ps5 consoles are just sitting in stores untouched , While Xbox Series X continues to out sell it. I'm prepared to be down voted and honestly that's ok , Just telling it like it is and that's the facts. Happy Gaming Everyone
