Satisfied with the product, honestly it’s a great console, good graphics. I think it’s quick. And a good console overall. Little up there on the price but on the bright side is you can pull it out in payments so I think it’s worth it

My daiggter saved for months to buy. Setup was easy enough and her old remote controllers worked great with this system. We love the fact that all of her Xbox one games work with this console as well.

After 4 mths. of trying to purchase an Xbox Series X I decided to try one more time on Best Buy's site. I nearly fell out of my chair when viewing 'saved items' in my account and seeing the 'add to cart' available. If you are still looking, use Toms Hardware for updates on availability and the several Twitter accounts listed there for the most up to date drops. This is what I did and it finally paid off. Do not give in the scalpers, you will feel much better after you finally own one for the retail price. The good news is much more stock is on the way and retailers like Best Buy are using methods to counter scalpers. Soon everyone that wants an Xbox Series X will be able to get it. After upgrading from an Xbox 360, it's simply mind blowing playing the Series X. It surpassed my expectations in a console. Talk about value, $500.00 is a bargain. It's impossible to build a PC with Series X specs for that price. The console itself is built sturdy and heavy, almost like a brick. I love the monolith type design. It's very quiet and boots up extremely quick. The cooling fan and the design work well keeping things cool. I read there's been a few reports of overheating but thankfully this system seems to be performing great. The disc loader uses no tray and 'grabs' the disc quickly and loads it. The inputs/outputs are pretty straight forward and easy to understand. Playing Forza Horizon 4 at 4k@120fps is an exhilarating experience and truly lifelike. Going over 200mph and actually feeling like real life is amazing. I've never felt that before from playing a racing game. Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate looks stunning and the characters move very fast, yet every detail and motion is clear without any lag whatsoever @120fps. The system is worth the wait.

Best Buy has great service both online and in store. Bought this as a gift for the kids and works as expected they love it. I think it’s overpriced for what it is but not sure if BB can do anything with that.

I purchased the Xbox Series X from Best Buy as a gift for my son, and it was absolutely worth it! The performance is incredible—fast load times, stunning graphics, and a smooth gaming experience. My son has been raving about the improved gameplay and how much he loves playing his favorite games on it. The setup was quick and easy, and the console runs quietly, even during extended gaming sessions. Best Buy's service was excellent, with fast shipping and secure packaging. I couldn’t have asked for a better purchase. If you're considering getting one for your kids or yourself, I highly recommend it!

    Best Deal in Gaming?

As of February 2021 the following statements are simple objective truths. The Series X comes with the largest hard drive of the three main console manufactures. Microsoft is the only manufacturer allowing the use of the previous generation’s controllers. Microsoft is the only manufacturer allowing backwards compatibility for two or more generations of games. If you consider hard drive space a commodity or a second controller mandatory the Series X is cheaper than its direct competitor while offering similar in game performance on latest gen games. These are all facts. The following is purely opinion based. The two best features currently unique to the XBOX are its ability to upscale older games to HDR10, and the ability to rapidly switch between different digital games with quick resume. The upscaling and rock solid frame rate on older games add something to them that is hard to quantify. It’s not perfect and on some games can be jarring but I have yet to have a bad experience with it and have been really impressed with the effect on Geometry Wars and Battlefront 2(2005). Quick Resume does not get enough credit. Taking a quick break from one game to play another sounds like a small deal. It really is not. Quick resume does not lock in the user. It allows multiple people to play games on the same console without closing the other person’s game. Want to play some multiplayer with your kid and not close your current single player epic? Go for it. Have three kids ranging in age from Lego to Resident Evil? Not as much of a problem. There are a few bad things to say about the XBOX. First, online play currently requires an XBOX live or Game Pass Ultimate subscription. Game Pass is often toted as “the best deal in gaming” and I would recommend trying it out for at least a month to any XBOX owner but this is a draw back. It’s also one shared by Microsoft’s competitors so this is more of a heads up for anyone fresh to the console gaming scene. The second is the proprietary hard drive expansion. Current gen games are monstrous in size and not getting smaller any time soon, they also require onboard SSD storage to run. The days of loading all of a consoles games on a single cheap external hard drive are gone. Now properly managing data storage is a necessary skill as older games (XBOX, XBOX 360, and XBOX ONE titles) can run off of cheaper external hard drives or SSDs while Series X/S titles must be loaded on the internal hard drive or the proprietary external card. To be fair, Microsoft’s closest gaming competitor has this issue as well and currently has their internal storage expansion disabled pending approved hardware arriving on market. If you have to buy from approved vendors only, it might as well be easy to install. Xbox Series X/S consoles do not have as bad of an exclusive games problem as people often say it is. Every professional reviewer in the world has felt the need to hammer on the lack of exclusives. Microsoft knows this. It’s already being fixed. Was being fixed before anyone outside the company knew it was a problem. XBOX owns some of the best game design companies in the worlds these days. The exclusives are in development and the multiplatform games are coming constantly. Series X enhanced titles are surprisingly common and are typically good if you want some eye candy in the meantime. Finally XBOX stock controllers do not come with built in rechargeable batteries. Anyone familiar with how short the life can be on these should consider this a perk. There are Xbox 360s still in service today because the controllers can use batteries or have their rechargeable battery pack swapped out. TLDR: The Series X is the best deal in gaming.

I felt really lucky to snag the Series X, but while I was waiting for delivery, I started seeing YouTube reviewing with miscellaneous complaints about the Series X. I had upgraded from the One X and became concerned I might have made a mistake. I should not have worried! So far, my Series X experience has been flawless. The unit was easy to setup and it automatically detected the correct settings for my TV. I have the Series X connected directly into my Yamaha RXA 2070 receiver (Atmos) which then passes the signal into my LG OLED TV (4k with Dolby Vision). Even though the TV has a 120Mhz refresh rate, it does not have HDMI 2.1 support, so it cannot display games at 120fps. When I loaded Ori and the Will of the Wisps, the game was automatically updated for the Series X. The screen displayed that 120fps wasn't available, but that it would be upscaled to 6k @ 60fps. The picture is drop dead gorgeous, and the performance is breathtakingly fast. Enormously faster than the One X. I also tested Red Dead Redemption 2 which has horrid load times. Again, enormously faster. Both HDR and Dolby Vision work fine with games, as does Dolby Atmos. I then tested the Series X as a bluray player. This is the center of the negative reviews for the Series X. But I had no problems with my unit. The disk drive is quiet. A slight whirring, but no chatter when spinning disks. The heat generated is no greater than the One X. The vents do expel very warm air, but not hot. I played 4k movies, standard HD blurays at 1080p,and older SD DVDs. All movies played beautifully. Again, Dolby Atmos and alternative audio formats all worked as they should. The fly in the ointment is that movies will not display Dolby Vision, though they will display HDR. Hopefully Microsoft will fix this in a firmware patch soon. But there aren't many 4k videos that currently support Dolby Vision, so I can wait. One of the big critiques of the Series X that did worry me is that it doesn't display pure black. Since I paid a lot for an OLED TV to get pure black, this was an issue. Turns out it isn't a problem. Both games and movies display what appears to be pure black. If it technically isn't displaying pure black, my eyes cannot detect it. And I'm really picky about audio and video. Okay, long review! Here's the punchline: the Series X has one, hopefully temporary, downside - - not displaying Dolby Vision with movies. That's it. Everything else is great. I'm very pleased with the Series X.
