I really hesitated this purchase. I kicked around the idea of the upgrade for quite some time. I notice my local store had some in stock and almost pulled the plug but ultimately ended up holding off once again. Of course, they sold out quickly and again I had missed my chance. Fast forward a week or so, the opportunity presented itself once again. This time I pulled the trigger and purchased my Xbox series x. Even after the purchase I continued to tell myself the Xbox one x was a powerful unit and this upgrade was unnecessary. I soon learned how wrong us was. The Xbox series x is absolute powerhouse and a whole new console experience. Starting from the unboxing I must say I was very underwhelmed. The packaging was dull and did not provide the unboxing excitement that day and Apple product would posses. Upon hooking up the console and powering it up I immediately noticed improved graphics and speed. I fired up Elden Ring and was amazed by the night and day difference from the x1x to the xsx. Gameplay was incredibly swift , clean and smooth,, loud times are Non existent, graphics are flawless and movements are crisp. I’ve since played a few other games and have been impressed with the noticeable difference. Gaming on the x1x now seems clunky and slow. With the size of newer games maps this really is a must. The only real downfall is that the new control still is sent out with one time use battery’s. Amazon has many rechargeable batteries to solve that problem so it really is minuscule. The slight modifications to the controller made a work of art even better. If you have an opportunity to get your hands on this machine do not hesitate as you won’t regret it.

So far I like it. I think it’s a bit expensive for the price but it runs better than the other Xboxes.

As one who has been an avid gamer for many years and who utilizes the xbox as the center of a home entertainment center, I must say it is excellent. The speed and responsiveness of the OS as well as the controller is very good. I contemplated building a new gaming PC, but for the price, this could not be beat.

If you're on an XBox One this is certainly with the upgrade. You won't see much changed or different with the Xbox interface but the performance is incredible. Games load super fast and sometimes instantaneous with quick resume. Frame rates and image quality are improved over the Xbox One depending on the title. I play a lot of Warzone and I find that I am usually loaded into the game quicker than even some of the quickest PC players I play with and the graphics details have improved as well as the frame rate. It's not a PC but it's darn close at least in Call of Duty. It definitely competes with lower-end PC builds for sure. The system does run hot but as long as you keep it properly ventilated it won't cause you any issues. If you have an enclosed media cabinet you can orient this on the side but it's advisable to keep the cabinet door open while playing and make sure there's enough room on the top and bottom to allow adequate airflow. You're not going to have any fire hazards as the machine is built to shutdown if it overheats (and I've yet to have that happen to me). But if you aren't allowing proper airflow I cannot attest to your experience there. I don't use the included controller because I have an Microsoft Xbox Elite 2 controller and it works like a charm with this and even takes your settings over from an old Xbox without you having to reconfigure anything. I have held the new controller and it's slightly improved over the Xbox One Controller but nothing vastly different. I'd say it's like a baby version of the Elite 2 controller, no changing thumbsticks or D pad and it doesn't have any paddles that can be mapped on the bottom, but the they do have a better D-pad than the Xbox One default controllers. I have heard some reviewers talk about Xbox vs PS5 and I say go with the console that has all the games you want to play. Xbox Ultimate Game pass offers a great way to access a large library of games as a service. I don't think you get the same thing on the Sony PlayStation Now service, but you also can't play Spider-man Miles Morales on an Xbox (if that even matters to you). If you're gaming on a smaller game monitor or want a PC-lite experience Xbox Series X is the way to go. It supports a variety of PC monitor resolutions like 1440 Enchanced HD and 4K output. Highly recommend this console or an upgrade to this console if you can get your hands on one.

This review is based solely on the quality of the product and not based on how hard it was to get one (the fault of MS and retailers) or the fact that some games have a few issues (the fault of MS for handing out dev kits late and developers being lazy). It is also based on the games I have personally played on the machine. Design wise, the system is fairly large though not comically so as many memes make it out to be. It needs plenty of space regardless due to components of the system producing plenty of heat. It can be placed on its side or left standing upright (which I recommend). The design itself is simple enough. Air intake vents are located on the bottom and is blown out through the top. Both sets of vents are fairly large to better facilitate airflow. This, however, means the area around the console needs to be kept clean and relatively dust free. The system so far runs very quietly even while playing games at 4k 60fps. This may change later when games made to specifically for the Series S/X are released. Games stored on the internal SSD have very low load times, with some having almost no load times at all. Textures load instantly so pop in is virtually eliminated. Every game ran on it has HDR applied to it, including games that previously did not support it. The games I've played so far also seem to be upscaled to what I assume is 4K and virtually all games run at at least 60fps. This includes games with a resolution mode that sacrifices fps for the sake of graphics. All of this is done by the console itself though optimization patches from developers could easily refine these enhancements. A few games have had graphical issues (Fallout 4's fire and smoke effects are broken) but I chalk that up to differences in hardware between the One and the Series S/X that will hopefully be corrected as developers make optimization patches. The only other issue I have encountered so far is sometimes the console becomes unable to find my wifi hotspots when it wakes up from power saving mode. Hopefully this is a software/driver issue and not hardware related. Time will tell when it comes to any other issues. Overall I am happy with my purchase and would highly recommend this console to any gamer. I wish it was cheaper but considering how much power both the Series X and the PS5 have $499 is still cheaper than a comparable PC or laptop.

Purchased this using the All Access Pass. 24 months, 0 interest. If you breakdown the cost of the console and what you pay for 24 months of Game Pass, you actually come out saving a few dollars. Console is great. Size is a little awkward depending on the dimensions of your entertainment center.

Not much to say about the series x. It's a top tier console. I decided to go with the Xbox all access financing, as I already paid for GP Ultimate. Other companies' sites were difficult to use. Best Buy was streamlined and easy. I was able to set the order up while out of town for work, then just stop by and pick it up. A++
