I have this and the PlayStation 5. I prefer the Xbox hardware wise and the PlayStation for its software and first party games. My PS5 has the notorious UFO nidec fan and makes an audible ufo like sound which isn’t loud but is annoying when the room is quiet. Where as my Xbox is whisper quiet I literally can’t hear the fan even if I put my face up against it and this is playing a game after a couple hours. Although I noticed the Xbox does get a lot hotter in its exhaust than the ps5. The Xbox is also smaller which is a plus but I prefer the look of the ps5. As for the software I feel like the ps5 has a more premium feeling UI and the first party games are definitely better. Also iv had less stuttering and crashes on the ps5 while on the Xbox I sometimes get stuttering in certain situations and a few times games wouldn’t load. I also like the DualSense controller a lot better. It feels way more high quality and has a lot more features. However the backwards compatibility is definitely an improvement for the Xbox as you can play all your old Xbox 360 games and sometimes with resolution and fps improvements.

Overall this system is very good. I do have one complaint. The entire setup is a money pit. They do not offer nearly enough storage that comes with these systems and you’re forced to purchase multiple external storage options or multiple expansion cards. If you don’t mind having to transfer games back and forth before and after playing them then I’d recommend going with the cheaper external expansion drives. If you’re like me and want to just download the game once and play it without having to transfer files around then I’d recommend going with the storage expansion card. They’re are significantly more expensive for the storage size though. The external storage drives are about $30 cheaper for 4x the storage but they’re not as convenient as the expansion cards. Takes about 10-15 min to transfer all the files over to the system before you can play. Also have to make sure the required space is even available. Can be a headache.

Definitely good to have at least one in your house if you're like us and have multiple of the cheaper xboxs. Will provide a more stable host for local network multiplayer due to the improved memory and processing power. Just make sure this is the one plugged into the network.

So I have both the PS5 and Series X and I continue to lean more towards the X for gaming. I will say that I have gamed more on the xbox over the years so I'm used to it a little more. After getting this, I did go and purchase a tv that was compatible with 120hz gaming and I will say that the difference is amazing. It's too soon for me to tell which is better as there are not an abundance of games out yet utilizing the new consoles power. I will update as time goes on.

Works very good. Consoles have begun to become overpriced. The controllers are not that durable and the memory space is not enough. If you plan on purchasing it with credit then its not worth it in my opinion.

I love my Series X. It may not be my favorite console this generation, but I still think it is worth the money. The only issue with the Series X is that I do not believe Microsoft has a lot of first party exclusives A lot of those titles are still coming. If you love Xbox, and you want a Series X and can find one, it is worth it. DO NOT get a Series S. They are underpowered and not worth the money.

From the second you boot up an Xbox One Series X (the name could use some work) you get that feeling of the enhanced performance, the way everything loads very quickly. But then, so far, the next-gen gaming experiences on Xbox seem very much the same. Granted I've only played WatchDogs Legion (great game) and some of the remastered experiences like Horizon 4, Master Chief X/S, and others, yet there is no huge "this game feels next gen" experiences yet. You do get glimpses though. For example the opening scene of Legion has you walk through a cathedral where moonlight shines through a stained glass window onto your character accurately. And then the reflections on the streets and in water. Seeing a daytime reflection in the river of the underside of a bridge was pretty incredible and something not scene before. But aside from that I think most experiences are going to be just like this, subtle. But aside from that the big reason I grabbed a console day one (aside from being very lucky and trying over and over again) was to get the backwards compatibility for current and older gen titles. Playing games even from a USB spinning disk still has advantages in performance over the Xbox One. Older Xbox and 360 games look and perform noticeably better as well, like gaming on a PC when you jump a few generations in graphics cards. And the transition from Xbox One to Xbox Series X was instant. I literally just unplugged the 4TB drive I had my games stored on from my Xbox One X and plugged it into the Series X. And they were instantly recognized and playable! I also happened to grab a PS5, and I'll mention it here that despite PS5 being equally great, the transition from taking games on one drive from your PS4 Pro to PS5 is a buggy mess. Even transferring over the network doesn't work as it should. Again I mention this because Microsoft's implementation is easy and flawless, the way it should be. All of this said, and with new games bound to release shortly that really show off the Xbox Series X and S power, buy in when you can. Try and hold out from scalpers and their 3 to 4 times price hiking as the real reasons to buy in will come. But if you are lucky enough to grab one, you can relive all your great Xbox experiences now.

I recently purchased the Xbox Series X, and I’m thoroughly impressed with its performance. Right out of the box, the setup was incredibly straightforward. The console is sleek and compact, fitting easily into my entertainment center without taking up too much space. The graphics are absolutely stunning, with 4K resolution and 120Hz refresh rates providing a smooth, immersive experience that truly brings games to life.
