I LOVE THIS MACHINE!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned numerous Xbox and PlayStation consoles throughout the years, and this is without a doubt my favorite so far. I prefer it over my PlayStation 5. It offers several features, such as quick resume, 120fps running at all times for all games, and the controller is still the best available. Because I own more titles from the Xbox 360/Xbox One era, it was simple for me to transition to the Series X and continue gaming. I've always liked the idea of having an all-in-one console, so I use it to watch movies and stream TV. Seriously though, best console to date from Xbox!

The Best and Most Important Xbox Console Yet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a long time gamer and former owner of an Xbox series x and current owner of a Ps5 I have to say that this might just be the best console Microsoft has ever made. Imo it's also the better console for longterm reliability and for those who are concerned about owning your physical media instead of going all digital. I sold my xbox series x a few months ago due to a very busy schedule and lack of use and decided to go with my Ps5 exclusively for my gaming needs. Big mistake. I found out a few weeks later that my Ps5 which I had not used for a few months had a failed blueray drive. It still played digital games just fine but considering that most of my Ps5 games were on disc I was pretty upset. I had my Ps5 in a well ventilated area and took extremely good care of it. I then discovered from online forums and from talking with a repair shop that this was actually a common issue with those who had early versions of the Ps5 like mine. I ended up paying over $200 to fix it and it's working again but I couldn't help but notice that during the entire 1.5 years that I owned my series x it never had any blueray drive hiccups. And yes I do remember the red ring of death issues that Xbox consoles went through in the past. Microsoft has clearly learned from their hardware mistakes in the past. I also noticed that Sony recently discontinued the original Ps5 that I had and released a new Ps5 with a separate blueray drive add on that had software constraints giving them full control of the blueray drive. My series x never had any issues at all with its disc drive and it's still being sold with the blue ray drive built in. There has also been a recent shift toward digital formats for so much home entertainment that I feel we have forgotten how this takes away ownership of our products from us. From older movies and streaming platforms to music and now games we have allowed digital ownership to take over our lives and imo we have forgotten that when you have things in a digital format you oftentimes don't truly own that product. On several occasions over the past few years companies have decided to remove access or ownership to certain movies or games due to expiring licenses or some other reason. The most recent incident in my mind was when Sony was about to cut off access to digital purchases of discovery entertainment content a few months ago. After a huge outcry they changed their mind but I couldn't help but notice how Sony and even now Microsoft are starting to try and force consumers away from physical media. Apparently Microsoft may announce a new Xbox very soon (maybe even today!?) that will be all digital and then discontinue the current series x. I'm actually writing this review because I just repurchased a series x today. For one thing I saw the price just dropped to $399. I also know from experience this console might end up being the last great console that has a reliable disc drive that will let me play and own my physical media library. If so I would suggest to gamers and those who care about owning your games and movies to pick up a disc drive series x in the near future while you still can. If anything it will send a message to companies that consumers still care about owning their physical media as opposed to paying for a license to stream it.

Lovely Piece of Equipment
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Xbox Series X was Microsoft's take on becoming the face of the console industry, and it really worked. The Series X, released in 2020, took the market by storm, selling out almost instantly, and people were happy about their purchase as well. I believe that the release of this Xbox has set new standards for the performance of future and current consoles. Design: The design of this new console is a leap from its predecessor, taking on the shape of a rectangular prism. Many compare this new Xbox to a fridge. However, this new design is very sleek, allowing the Xbox to fit in many setups. Also, allowing the Xbox to fit in many setups is its matte black color and subtle green finishes, keeping the Xbox aesthetic but also making it easy to match with all setups. The Xbox can also be stood up and put on the sides, which can aid people in fitting it in their desired location for their setup. This console may not be preferred by users who want a purchase of this size to catch people's eye. Due to its subtle display. Performance and Specs: This new Xbox is the most powerful console, beating its little brother, the Series S, and also its competitor, the PlayStation 5, in performance. The Xbox is powered by a custom AMD Zen 2 octa-core processor; this is the part that runs the computer, almost equivalent to an i9 or i7 processor in laptops or PCs, and RDNA 2 GPU; this is the graphics card that helps display the graphics (equivalent to a high-end PC processor like the Nvidia 3070). This console delivers a stunning 4K gaming experience at 60 frames per second, with the potential for up to 120 fps in certain titles (fps is the amount of frames per second your display produces). The only downfall of this 4K experience is the user must have a display (TV or monitor) that is compatible with 4K gameplay. The Xbox also comes with 1000 GB of storage; however, when you open the Xbox, you actually get around 832 GB to use for your games and apps. The Xbox also offers 16 GB of RAM, which is an above-average amount, allowing the Xbox to display high performances as well. Features: With the release of the new Xbox, one feature also came along with it. One of the most anticipated features was quick resume; this feature allows players to seamlessly switch between multiple games with minimal load times. However, after testing this feature myself, I found this only works for games that are not played online because when I would try to load back to an online game, it wouldn't allow me to play, leading me to quickly download the app and load it again. But this feature works perfectly fine with story games, and it works very well switching with minimal load times. This brings us to the next feature that was promised with the Series X, which was fast load times into games. After testing this new load time, I can confirm this is up to an 82% reduction in loading time for games like Fifa, Madden, and Fortnite. On my old Xbox, these games would take around a minute or so to load; however, after trying these on the new Xbox, it only takes around 12 seconds to get into the main screen and begin playing. Another feature that Microsoft has placed a strong emphasis on is backward compatibility, ensuring that a vast library of Xbox One, Xbox 360, and even original Xbox games can be played on the Series X. However, these games might not take the Xbox Series X to its full potential because these games weren’t meant for that console, but some games are redone to take full advantage of the new Xbox’s power. Summary: After taking all this into account, I can confidently say that the Xbox is a powerhouse of a console, and it is worth the $500 that it costs. However, if you don’t play games much, don't value the graphics, and are looking for a simple gaming console, maybe look into the Xbox Series S, which costs less but also brings less performance. With the Xbox Series X's new features and high-performance rates, I believe that users will be happy with their purchase, and the convenience that the Xbox provides is another thing to keep in mind.

Xbox Series X
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have always been an Xbox fan and just picked this one up yesterday. I have been off of the gaming scene for a while and the last Xbox I had was the regular xbox one. I think this one looks pretty awesome and I’m excited to use it more. Thought it was cool that it has 4k and 120 refresh rate so if you have a good tv you can really take advantage of the quality. I did hear they have some chip overheating issues so I suggest purchasing the protection plan just in case, but if you take care of it I think it will take care of you. Overall pleased with it

One of my favorite consoles
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As an avid gamer, I've traversed countless virtual worlds, battled formidable foes, and embarked on epic quests. Yet, none of my gaming experiences have quite matched the exhilaration and immersion that the Xbox Series X delivers. From its sleek design to its groundbreaking technology, Microsoft's latest console is a testament to next-gen gaming prowess. Let's start with the hardware. The Xbox Series X is a behemoth of power encased in a compact, minimalist design. Its monolithic form exudes sophistication, fitting seamlessly into any entertainment setup. The matte black finish, accented by the iconic Xbox green glow, adds a touch of futuristic elegance to my gaming sanctuary. But it's what lies beneath the sleek exterior that truly sets the Xbox Series X apart. Powered by custom-designed AMD processors and RDNA 2 architecture, the console boasts breathtaking graphical fidelity and blazing-fast load times. Whether I'm exploring the sprawling landscapes of "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" or engaging in heart-pounding firefights in "Call of Duty: Warzone," every frame is rendered with unparalleled detail and fluidity. The integration of cutting-edge features like ray tracing and Variable Rate Shading further enhances the visual spectacle, immersing me in worlds that feel more alive than ever before. The addition of a 4K UHD Blu-ray drive ensures that my movie nights are just as cinematic as my gaming sessions, while the Quick Resume feature allows me to seamlessly switch between multiple games without missing a beat. However, it's not just the hardware that makes the Xbox Series X a gaming marvel; it's the ecosystem that Microsoft has cultivated around it. With Xbox Game Pass, I have access to a vast library of games spanning genres and generations, from beloved classics to the latest blockbusters. The sheer value and convenience of Game Pass make it an indispensable companion for any Xbox enthusiast. Moreover, the integration of Xbox Live and Xbox Cloud Gaming ensures that my gaming experiences are not bound by physical constraints. Whether I'm competing in multiplayer matches with friends across the globe or streaming my favorite titles to my smartphone, the Xbox ecosystem seamlessly adapts to my lifestyle, blurring the lines between console and cloud gaming. In conclusion, the Xbox Series X represents the pinnacle of gaming innovation, combining unrivaled performance, versatility, and affordability into a single, sleek package. From its breathtaking visuals to its expansive library of games, every aspect of the Xbox experience exudes a passion for gaming that is impossible to resist. So, if you're ready to embark on the ultimate gaming journey, look no further than the Xbox Series X—it's a love affair waiting to happen.

Fastest all around console I’ve ever owned!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After Phil Spencer gutted the Xbox One 2 years into the consoles life, I didn’t have a whole lot of high hopes for the platform going forward. I was forced to rethink my decision when I learned they merged EA Access, Xbox Live, and Game Pass PC / Xbox into one product... but that alone wouldn’t have been enough to get me to buy the console, until I got a chance to see the game library of Gamepass Ultimate! Between my gaming PC and my Xbox Series X, I realized that there are roughly 500 games that are free to play with this product and the sale price for 3 months meant I could play for the whole year for just $80 more. So I decided to checkout the console and see what it was made of. After purchasing it through Best Buy and getting it set up, I got to launch the first game and give it a run through. The console is as fast as I ever seen any console run and I’m not just talking about the games. The interface is insanely fast as well and getting from A to B is smooth as melted butter on toast. It’s seriously a beast of a console and I’m very impressed with it so far. In addition to this, they thought of everything with the unit. You set it up with an app and can sync it to other Xbox consoles you’ve had setup in the past. If you need more storage there are 1 TB external drives that you can plug into the specialized slot in the back of the console (these are sold separately). The main analog stick for the left thumb is slightly elevated and I’m not sure if it is for ergonomics or what, but it feels natural after using it. Also, they’ve added a share button to the controller so you can quickly grab a screen shot of the game and share it with social media if you want to link that to you Xbox Account. The console itself is smooth and quiet, and it remains fairly cool under heavy load. With my OLED TV I can achieve 120 Hz gaming and 12 bit color for true Dolby vision HDR support. And it supports Dolby Atomos sound straight from the console. Both of these features are very important for 4K Blu-rays and gaming. One area where the Xbox is ahead is in the number of enhanced titles already available or that have patches in the works. There’s quite a list of titles that will demonstrate the Ray Tracing and power of the machine. Overall this is a very impressive machine and I’m very happy with the purchase.

4 years... 4 long (great) years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.4 years with this console and its still going strong. Console itself has fit in 3 different entertainment centers nicely. Would sometimes run hot to the touch. Usually due to long gaming sessions and its confined location. Love the backwards compatibility, basically all my Xbox disc/ digital games would run on it. The controller is incredible, nothing needed to change from the Xbox one controller, just a nice addition of the share button. Also getting two years of game pass with the bundle I got at the time as awesome. Sadly these days I don't play it much but still enjoyed my time with it. Hopefully more exclusives will come to xbox soon. Definitely recommend this system for anyone looking to jump into Xbox.
