Makes the Xbox One feel like a Yugo

Comparison story: I've owned at one model of every generation of Xbox since the original with the previous one being an Xbox One S. I'd been playing Forza Horizon 5 on the One S connected to my 4K TV since November. The graphics were pretty good but the startup and load times were horrible. I could do tasks in other rooms while waiting for racing events to load. Then my Xbox Series X arrived this week. After downloading a system update and then Forza, I was ready to see the difference. Blown out of my mind. Startup and load times are so fast they are practically not noticeable. Combine that with the ability to do 'quick resume' for previously loaded games, and you can be playing in no time at all. Now I barely have time to see if there are any messages on my phone, let alone go do some task in another room. And the graphics are out of this world. In Forza if I stop at a field of flowers and I see that each flower has petals. Flamingos at the waterfall have feathers. Pineapple plants have serrated edges. Banana plants have tears and holes in the leaves. Pros: - Amazing graphics and speed Smaller than a PS5 Negatives: Storage of 1TB (which is even smaller due to system files) Games that are designed specifically for the Series S/X must be stored on the internal drive or an expensive proprietary Seagate external drive. But games can be moved to an external HDD or SSD if you aren't planning on playing it for a while. - Seems to consume more power than my One S. Running my TV, surround sound and Xbox through a UPS and 500-watt power transformer, the transformer could not handle the load when gaming on the Xbox Series X while it could easily handle it on the One S. Conclusion: If you can find one at MSRP prices, this should be a no-brainer of a decision for any gamer.

Should i really need to write this review? I hope not> i'm not going to write pros and cons. I'm just going to give you data. You decide. what is in this black box you see: - blueray player - 3700 cpu - 6700xt gpu - god tier optimizations - controller - zero sound - fantastic warranty - GAMES ARE CHEAP. You buy used. disk. Cyberpunk 7, witcher 10, RD2 18 just examples. - no heat. - you can buy 3 year warranty from msft for 30 bucks - gam pass is cheap and good. - premium psu 500. I've had this for 6 months now. if you are still watiing for a gpu please give this a try let the gpus come back down they aren't worth it yet. I have a 1080ti and this thing. This looks better and plays faster than that. Your going to need even in summer 2022 about 600 for a gpu to have any hope of competing with this in any significant way, and even then. i'd argue almost 3070/3080 I tried the 3080 ventus 12gb. It was loud hot, and the games frankly didn't really look much better. It was maybe 5 percent on cyberpunk. You could barely tell it was like a little more smoke, some light flashing. I returned it and stuck with this. It wasn't worth 800 for the gpu. I'll wait there for prices to get 6 or under. Unless your totally against xbox or consoles this is the way to go. Even the control it's so good they kept it backwards compatible iwth a replaceable batter. THIS IS THE BEST TECH PURCHASE I'VE EVER MADE. Sony and Microsoft kept gaming accessable. yes suppy was hard for a while. hats off to them for being resopnsibile though. buy this and have a great time. I did.

    Series X

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The Series X is a great improvement from the previous gen console. Upgrading from the One S, I notice there is a lot more detail and faster loading times. To me this is a win-win and well worth the investment. For those who are looking to buy, check the best buy website regularly for available/ soon to be available units near you and make your purchase online to reserve your unit ahead of time. Once I decided to upgrade to the Series X, it only took a month to acquire my unit even at my nearest store. This is a purchase you will not be able to just walk in and physically handle the box of before you buy. Also, there are some really good bundles including a second controller though the bundles do not necessarily provide a price break. The bundles basically just guarantee the availability of the add ons you may want at the time of purchase. I had recently (within weeks) replaced a controller for my One S with the new Carbon one so I opted for just the console for my purchase as I had a Game Pass subscription already too. While traditional usb hard drives still work with the Series consoles, note that the SS drives do have faster load and access times. This may or may not matter to you for your usage however I will be looking into a SS to replace my WD Black very soon as the difference is definitely very noticeable. The Black will then return to the One S for me as it has become more of a media console and less my primary gaming console since having picked up the Series X.

    PS5 Now It’s Xbox SX

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Don’t get me wrong I love my PS5 but since day one have had a lot of odd glitches and games having constant crashes. I have more friends that play on Xbox who play the same games with no issues. Had problems with Skull and Bones on PS5 so sold the game and bought it for the SX. Not a single issue for days. Dragons Dogma 2 sold to buy it on this and it not only hasn’t had a single glitch but plays better. I’m getting used to the layout which in ways feels overdone but easier then the PlayStations layout. From here on out going to get multiplatform games on the Xbox and first party only games on PlayStation. I definitely see the power difference with all games especially loading times being almost instant. Very impressed so far

Simple yet unique quality build both in the console and controller. Brilliant design for keeping cool (best to keep it upwards standing). Amazing graphics and speed. Absolutely love the UI of Xbox. Just the best console you can get right now in my opinion.

    Xbox one X series console

This is the 2nd Xbox series X we have purchased thru Best Buy. The 1st Xbox X series we purchased and only had for a little over a year so we were unable to get warranty repair. The HDMI connection port went bad and were no longer to use. This time we purchased an additional warranty thru Best Buy. This issue was not Best Buys fault but they have always been excellent in their help and customer service, I recommend purchasing additional warranty thru Best Buy. There is a reason the are called Best But - it is because they are excellent and truly the "Best" for almost any home electronics or anything for that matter.

Best hardware in the console space

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This is the best console available. Games look and run better on the series x. Xbox consoles are also the only consoles with backwards compatibility where you can play many old games and in many cases it’s the only way legal way of play certain games with the added benefit of some of those games having improvements in graphics/visuals and performance. Quick resume is also a game changer since it allows to seemlessly transition from one game to another without having to boot up the game from scratch, a feature only available on the xbox. Also gamepass, best gaming service available by far(there’s absolutely nothing like it).

So sad, obtaining a Series X seems hopeless.

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I have been trying so hard for the last year to get a Series X. Twice I've had one in my cart here at Best Buy, (but it bombed out both times before I could fully check out). Otherwise, I've checked restocks at every major online retailer every single day since launch with no luck, (they simply sell out instantly). I would even go the All Access route, but I've had no luck there either. :( As someone who struggles with PTSD, video games are one of my outlets, (and one of my windows to still being social with people, since going out in public is difficult for me now). Come on Microsoft, don't leave me hanging. I understand why there are shortages, but I'm eagerly waiting to join the next generation of console gaming. Happy gaming everyone! ;) PS-I'm still giving this the highest rating possible because I know it is an awesome system, and GamePass is without a doubt the best deal in gaming.

    Amazing fast console

The thing that really stands out with this incredible console is definitely got to be it’s loading times, it’s graphics, and it’s performance. I have enjoyed using this console and it has just been an amazing experience. Because if it’s small, sleek design, it can basically fit anywhere in your house vertically or upright. Another thing I really love about this console is the fact that it has one terabyte a storage it does run out quick though with the huge space that games nowadays take up like call of duty. But compared to a PS five or a Nintendo switch. This definitely wins in storage. This console is great for any type of gamer, a streamer, laid-back just trying to have fun gamer, or an intense gamer. It is perfect for any of those things. 100% recommend this console.

Xbox and Gamepass are the way to go this generation tremendous value you get with Gamepass. Highly recommend anyone who buys an Xbox to get Gamepass 600+ games as of right now more will be coming especially when Activision, Blizzard games start dropping into the service really soon Diablo 4 will be dropping into the service at the end of March Xbox is now the home of Call Of Duty. As for the console great cooling system huge fan so it does not overheat runs extremely quiet . Loads games really fast quick resume is great able to jump in between different games has a customizable UI background home screen. Overall highly recommend Xbox Series X .

    Quality Gaming Console

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I was lucky enough to have snagged an Xbox Series X within the first year, and I have been using mine pretty consistently since. It's quiet when in operation, the loading times for games is super-fast, and when the games are 4K, they can be gorgeous. I have had no problems with the 4K blu ray playback, and the streaming services I use work great. Atmos sound is great when available. Only issue I really have is how they handle the distribution of Xbox Series X game content. Just because you buy physical games doesn't mean it on the disc. Sometimes the game discs are just access keys. Overall, I have no real regrets purchasing this machine, and if you don't mind a mostly digital game library then this is a good quality console.

    Design, speed and performance

After months and months of research and watching reviews I was honestly hesitant because of I herd some people having issues with this Xbox. Well here’s what I can say about the series x. 1- I had no issues what’s so ever with the system. I did make sure the software was updated to the latest and made sure it was plugged in to the wall not an extension cord. That’s where I think people were having issues with it shutting off because of the system is really powerful. 2- the downloading speeds are amazing. My old Xbox one s took call of duty Cold War 3 hours to download. The series x took 1 hour to download. 3- the quick resume option is a great feature to have. 4- the blue ray player/4K player has incredible performance. After testing it out it looks like an expensive $499 Sony 4K player that how good I think it is the black scenes are what they should be. However I did have to change some of my picture settings on my tv to fully maximize the movies from the Xbox. The only think that I haven’t used yet was the 120hz gaming feature and the 8k because my tv doesn’t support it. In conclusion Microsoft did an amazing job on the system I have nothing but good to say about it. If you are worried about a faulty system don’t be just make sure you plug the Xbox directly in the wall not an extension cord and make sure it’s in the open for air flow as well.

Just like the XB1X, this is a BEAST of a console!

Sure, only the lucky will actually get Best Buy's page to actually work when stock is available, but for those of us who even paid just a little extra more for this console via scalpers, I have to say it was well worth it. Just like the Xbox One X before it, this console is nothing short of excellent. I have no idea why Sony and Microsoft undercut their consoles for way less than they are worth this time, but it is what it is. I've been playing Cyberpunk 2077 in performance mode on the series X and it runs at mostly 60 fps, with some rare hiccups in framerate. I cannot wait to test other games on this thing, and I cannot wait for Halo 6.... Must buy console. Consoles are interesting these days, because they are becoming more and more powerful, and almost catching up to PC's, but not quite. The reason consoles will never catch up to PC's is because they are designed to be smaller, and more portable. I have a 30-40 pound PC and I will tell you right now it destroys the Xbox Series X and PS5, but it also cost me $3,000 to build. Don't let that deter you from buying one of the new gaming consoles, because they are PERFECT alternatives to enthusiast PC gaming rigs. The Xbox One X and PS4 Pro fell under that category as well, and these new consoles are no different in that regard.

Just got my Xbox series X today, I bought it online November 27th. It’s amazing Xbox really outdid themselves with this one! I suggest getting a nice curved gaming monitor because it’s a HUGE difference but I played it on a non 4K tv also and it’s still great. Best Buy makes you go through a verification process to make the purchase and that helps the dreaded BOTS!
