A Powerful Gaming Machine
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The heft suggests a quality build. The unit is silent and the temperature only warm enough to let you know there is a lot of power inside that case. The weak point of the Series X is the UI. It's a catalog of everything: titles, settings, achievements, apps, community, events but poorly organized into piles: the Game Pass pile, the Store pile, the Entertainment pile and the Events pile and a main pile containing owned games, settings, achievements, Xbox Assist, HDR calibration and MS Store. It reminds me of the accumulation of the disorganized collection of tiles in Windows 8; a large number of them pushing items on sale from the MS store. My series X is connected to a large 4K TV but the display looks like it's on a 4-inch phone. Quick Resume is really neat. The game play, graphics fidelity and performance are the reasons I bought the Series X and I'm not disappointed.

Microsoft finally redeemed themselves
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent console. I was really skeptical about it when this and the PS5 were first announced. Thinking Xbox would have just another console gathering dust in my theatre room, as the Xb1 and Xb1x did. But with GamePass, and a revamped interface, this console is a serious contender for MVP. I have no doubt that PS4 won the last generation round, though I'd give the generation before that to the Xbox 360 over the PS3. I'm impressed with what Microsoft has pulled together here. The only major down side is Xbox STILL can't push out a console with rechargeable batteries. C'mon... that's an easy one. A minor down side is the initialization of the system had some timeout and connectivity issues for me (video on YT). Mainly in getting the updates installed and my MSFT account synced. But it's worked great once I got through that.

I feel the need. The need for speed!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really really love the Series X so far. It’s the speed of the box that gets you. It’s sooooo fast. I had to boot up my One X on another TV and I had forgotten how much slower it is. Games load so fast now and quick resume (when it works right) is amazing. Auto HDR is making old games look even better and the frame rate improvements makes everything run buttery smooth on the LG CX. It’s also whisper quiet. The icing on the cake though is Gamepass. So much greatness streamed to this amazing box for a low monthly fee. There are so many good games my backlog is out of control. Luckily I’m saving so much time on load speeds I may get caught up soon. If you can get one I can’t imagine you being disappointed. It’s a fantastically well engineered machine that works really well. I love it. Good luck and I hope you’re able to track one down because it’s worth every penny.

Series X
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What can I say? If you’re an Xbox gamer, you probably own this. Tariffs have raised price by $100 since last year sadly. Otherwise, a great console.

10/10 Recommend Purchasing
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have only had PlayStations in the past so getting this was truly one of the best decisions I've made. The UI is easy to navigate so you'll have a smooth transition if you've never owned an Xbox before. I highly recommend purchasing this over the model S because the display is high quality and the storage is worth the extra money. If you find yourself downloading a lot of games, the disc drive is an excellent back up for you. I also recommend getting the Game Pass on this console because you'll find a lot of Indie games that deserve high praise. Finally I'd like to mention the controller is much more comfortable to use than the PS5 duel sense controller.

Great Console, but lacks good exclusives
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Xbox Series X is an odd console to review. It’s certainly great in performance with support for 4K 120Hz HDR and improves performance of all games new and old, but as of now it lacks that “wow” factor that really makes it stand out compared to the older Xbox One X. I’ll admit I originally wanted the PS5 but settled for the Xbox due to lack of supply, but when I say that I mean it in terms of innovation, such as how the PS5’s new controller makes games more immersive with it’s dynamic triggers and rumble motors and a lineup of games both current and speculative based on the studios Sony has that just seem more fun. Looking back at Xbox’s history, there aren’t many unique games and franchises that I can think of; Halo, Gears of War, and Forza are the only major ones that I cared for, and even then those were all basically the same game. Fortunately it seems that Microsoft might actually care about delivering on exclusives this time around with its many studio acquisitions. Honestly the best thing about getting an Xbox over PS5 is Game Pass, which isn’t really saying much. While it’s great that players have access to a variety of games they can choose from the reality is that many of them are simply not interesting enough or are games you probably already played, especially if they were AAA games. Take for example the current lineup of AAA games, which includes Skyrim, Fallout 76, Gears of War, Forza, Doom Eternal, and now recently everything that EA Play already had in there like all the Battlefield games, Need for Speed, Star Wars Battlefront, and more: for a new player just starting out, this is an absolutely great value considering all the choices you have. However, for someone like me that generally buys these new releases for the sake of playing with my friends, many of the titles I listed are ones I’ve already played and don’t have interest in playing again. And while all of Microsoft’s new releases will be included with Game Pass, as of now and looking ahead a few months there isn’t anything coming soon. In conclusion, the Xbox Series X is a console that needs more time to really appreciate. It’s great for replaying older games for nostalgia or perhaps those that you missed, but if you’re looking for anything new aside from universal releases like from Activision, Ubisoft, EA, and Take Two you won’t find it here yet.

Never wait to Upgrade!!!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With the amount of time it took me to get one of these, and the fraud loss L I took in the process, I barely want to touch a review. But, I actually love the machine, its a beast. (I was still playing a old xbox One) There are not many games i have even been into lately, and the only one I was really playing was Destiny 2... I was okay, but didn't do much High end content. I hated Pvp because I always get wrecked with 2-3 kills in a game. My first 100K game played, we hit that... Pvp, 20+ kills, without even using much strategy... Pack Kills, are FUN!!! :-D Anyway... I guess its time to finally go back and try to get my gallaHorns!!! Lets GO!!!

If you're debating
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hmm should i get a ps5 or series x. If you dont want to buy both like i did i will tell you what. Ps5 exclusives and dualsense feel great (and the future psvr2 i bet will be amazing coupled with this console) BUT series x is less cumbersome in multiple areas. Not only is it more pleasant to look at but the memory is larger. You can expand the memory a lot easier and if you are a cinephile like myself you get dolby vision atmos and dtsx support out of the box. So if you have a compatible tv you can stream movies and play 4k blu rays with dolby vision/ atmos and dtsx support. Lets not forget Dolby vision for gaming. All in all i love my series x (the stock controller sucks though. I had to buy an elite 2 controller to adjust for the horrible deadzone.)
