I’ve been an Xbox fan since the 360 days and I have been disappointed by them in recent years. The Series X is certainly a powerful console for the price, but the games, UI and overall feel of the console leave a lot to be desired. Nowadays, I would definitely recommend a Gaming PC if you can afford it. The overall gaming experience is much superior and the Xbox app is on PC allowing you to play Gamepass and use party chat. Getting a gaming PC reignited my interest in gaming, after years of disinterest on Xbox. If you can’t quite afford a PC, the other consoles will likely give you a better experience. PS5 has better exclusives like Helldivers, Spiderman, God of War, Ghost of Tsushima and more. Switch, while not being anywhere near as powerful, is a great choice for casual gamers and has a lot of great first party games like Mario and Zelda. Being able to use it in handheld is a huge feature that makes it easy to play in bed or on the go. Finally, Steam Deck is an awesome product that allows you to play PC games on the go, similar to Switch. The library is huge and it is highly customizable. Overall, Xbox Series X would not be my first recommendation to anyone looking to get a gaming machine. It is outclassed by nearly all its competitors and anything it has going for it, mainly Gamepass, is available on PC. Xbox has not had any interesting exclusive games in a while. I know there are some cool low budget games like Pentiment, but their big exclusives have all been flops. I was excited for Starfield, Halo Infinite, and Gears only to be disappointed by all of them. I got my first Xbox because of games like Halo 3, Gears of War 2, Fable, etc. and there is really nothing like those games on Xbox series. They have so many talented developers so I hope they can turn their games division around. Unless all your friends have Xbox, I’d recommend another gaming system.

Although a little pricey, the Xbox Series X is exactly what Microsoft says it is - the cutting edge of console gaming. Whether discussing the graphic abilities or the nuisances it includes for ease of use, it is top tier. As someone who owns the other competing systems, the quality of the controller and system, the amount of games available on the Xbox, and the ease of use via the UI interface puts the system above all in my opinion. I would recommend the console to anyone. 5/5.

Excellent Xbox One upgrade, caveats for PS4 owners

Fantastic power and super quiet cooling. Quick Resume and Smart HDR (adding legit HDR to content that wasn’t created for it) are well worth it, and while the SSD storage is not as fast as the PS5 on paper, it’s still a vast improvement over last gen. Backwards compatibility with everything on the Xbox One is incredibly seamless. It’s lacking in exclusives for now so there is a hard argument to make for someone changing from the PlayStation family, but even just being able to play some of last-gen’s games in a higher frame rate (Sekiro finally feels good to play, as with any other game that shipped with an uncapped frame rate) is a worthwhile upgrade from the Xbox One family for anyone who can afford it... and find it in stock for now. Good luck and be patient for the restocks, and screw the scalpers trying to charge people more than MSRP.

This console has been excellent so far. Its received near daily use between my wife and myself. Playing games at a silky smooth framerate has been nice and the visual quality that is able to be afforded by certain games thanks to the processing and GPU power has been nothing short of excellent. Well worth the price paid. Only gripe I have is that I wish a 2TB version existed just because the size games are achieving nowadays.

I know there aren’t any console selling on release but I switched from a ps4 and never had an Xbox one. Game pass really is the best thing in gaming. So many games I would be hesitant to buy or even play but can try all I want now. Love the fast loading and the slick interface. The series x controller is also fantastic. My personal favorite controller ever is the wave bird for the GameCube and this controller will probably take my new first place. If you’re coming from an Xbox one I’d maybe wait. But if you switching from PlayStation I’d say go for it. Also, try and snag game pass ultimate around the holidays/a sale. They’re normally 45 dollars for 3 months. Around thanksgiving I picked them up for 20 dollars a piece. You also get three months for a dollar when you first sign up. So for 61 dollars I got a year of the best deal in gaming.

The Xbox Series X is known for its exceptional performance, offering lightning-fast load times due to its 1TB NVMe SSD. Games look stunning with support for DirectX Raytracing and enhanced graphics. The console's backward compatibility and integration with Xbox Game Pass provide access to a vast library of games, making it a great value. I really love it!

My experience buying my Series X- XBox was one of the most best and comfortable purchases I’ve made in a long time. The associate, Ms. Smith was kind, polite and very helpful. She gave me detailed information about the system also offered everything that needs to be offered to a customer. Environment was warming and clean. It felt different than any shopping experience I’ve ever had, one of the Best Buy’s for sure. Thanks Best Buy!

Owning a ps5 I held off on getting a series x for awhile now. Got mine this weekend and I’m beyond impressed. Runs games I have on ps5 smoother. Also great seeing more games from steam making it onto the Microsoft store. I should have jumped on it sooner. Also dealing with Microsoft customer service is a breath of fresh air.

Unlock the potential of the XBOX Series X! This is by far the most valuable console out there! No other console allows you to play the entire XBOX library from the very first Halo to latest and greatest. Some experts are even playing PS1 and PS2 games using a modified version of this console. The ease of user interface that XBOX offers along with XBOX Game Pass subscription that brings brand new games every month is so much quicker and easier to use compared to Sony and Nintendo. Plus, a brand new quick resume feature will save a ton of time with seamless transitions when switching from game to game. Halo Infinite is one of the most anticipated games to be released soon so don’t miss out on the best way to play is here on the XBOX Series X. “Experience the experience!”

Struggles to run BG3 and sometimes Cyberpunk; overheats and closes application. We purposefully bought the more advanced model to avoid this, but I recommend going with Play Station.

Had this for a year and recently got the PS5 to compare. Overall this is still my go. More so for cost effectiveness, for example if you got Resident evil 8 for your Xbox one and you recently got ahold of one of these then you will automatically get the Series X version for free. Not only free the Xbox will go the extra mile and give you a prompt that there is an upgrade available and installs the update for you. no extra cost, no BS,. For the PS5 for the same RE8 game you will need to go into the store. find the PS5 version then select "Products" then select the PS5 version, Download the PS5 version but note its the PS5 full version meaning you will have both the PS4 and PS5 version on your SSD which you can delete the PS4 with no issue but its an unusual hassle.

Latest, best Xbox as of Jan2024. Next gen might lose out on the optical drive, so get this gen if you have been sitting on an older 360 but still want to use physical media in the future. Game console menus and functionality has improved a lot and this Xbox is fast, is simple to setup and is widely compatible with games and peripheral devices, just look for the green "Made for Xbox" logo on boxes or even on product web pages.

Having been many years since playing video games, I have periodically searched for the Series X for the last year. I refused to pay scalp prices on other online vendors. Best Buy was always out of stock, but out of curiosity I checked the banner that stated, "game pass available". I followed the link and confirmed the price included the console and the multi-year game pass. I completed the transaction, and the unit was ready for pickup within the week. This was a perfect solution for someone like me that needs the luxury of being able to try many types of games. Note, you have to sign up for monthly payments at 0% interest but can pay it in full when you get the first monthly statement. Great way to get value for your money.

Worth the upgrade from Series S

Been using Series S for a while and started running out of memory space. Given the price of internal solid state drive I decided to just upgrade my console to the X. Pros- Runs a little quicker than the S, added bonus of being able to play physical games and movies, better image quality and refresh rate for a 4K OLED(just make sure you have a fast enough HDMI to make use of the 120hz), 1TB storage(twice as much as the S) Cons- runs a little warmer than the S but barely noticeable, takes up a decent amount more space, 1TB storage (would be nice to have more for the price difference) Overall- glad I upgraded

The series X for what it is pretty good. It runs my games from 1080 to 4k just fine at 60 to 140Mhz depending on resolution. Its raytracing just like any other machine that can support it is mostly a gimmick for certain games. It still does make those certain games run just about the same at 60 FPS. Some games will limit you to 30fps which sucks but thats a Microsoft problem. Of course xbox has its issues and games have been pretty stale i still have fun with friends and such playing what we like.
