Frankly, it doesn’t seem much better than an XBox one X in terms of gameplay. The UI is not notably different, and I haven’t noticed qualitative differences in game play that justify the expense of a new console. Don’t get me wrong; the ability to fast resume games, and the great load times... are really nice to have. I just haven’t found the experience of using this console to be much better / different than a one x. That’s not true of PS5 - the user experience of PS5 is greatly improved over PS4. But there is little discernible difference in UX between series X and the previous generation. Hopefully Series X will have some games soon that leverage the power of the platform; right now, my most honest review is “meh”.
