The Powerhouse
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was so fortunate to luck out preordered this. I love the Xbox console series. It's a sleek and powerful monolith. From the packaging, which by the way is such a treat to open, to just navigation, I am so impressed with Microsoft on this one. This is an investment system - we're awaiting some of the amazing games that will come over it's lifespan. With the purchase of Bethesda, we have Skyrim and Halo games on the horizon. In the interim, gamepass gives 100s of games! I've already poured over 40 hours into Valhalla and the graphics are incredible. The biggest thing here is the load times - you dont even have time to text people it loads so fast! Love the system - zero regrets on going with Microsoft over Sony, and look, I think if you can get a PS5 or Xbox series X right now, you're lucky! Console wars are dumb, this is a must have system so jump on it if you are fortunate enough to find one.

Next Level Console that lives up to the hype.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Disregard the negative reviews from PS5 fanboys (who either don't even own the console or are hypocrites). This is an awesome next level game console. Upgrading to this from my One S is amazing. 4k graphics are great but the real improvement is definitely the increase to 60fps. Everything that I've played so far (Borderlands 3, Jedi Fallen Order, Gears 5) looks so much smoother and realistic. Load times are at least cut in half and in some cases 5-10 times faster than on the One S. I agree that this console is a little ahead of the current selection of games available for it but I'm very confident that developers will be releasing games that are able to showcase more of XSX's capabilities. Very impressed so far and I'm expecting more games to play over the next several months. Especially Cyberpunk 2077. If you can find one buy one (just not from scalpers taking advantage of the current shortage).

A Great System With A Bright Future
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have used the system for 3 months so far and it is slowly becoming my go to for a majority of my games. Load times and switching between menus are lightning fast thanks to its SSD. Features like quick resume which allows me to have multiple games open at once and switch to them at anytime are the kinds of features that are truly next gen to me. Smart delivery is another feature that streamlines the process of making sure I get the best looking version of the game I’m playing without having to double check or accidentally downloading multiple versions of a game. Coming from a One S the difference is stark and is a great solution for those who want high fidelity gaming on their TV without having to spend thousands trying to match the same quality and resolution on PC. Also game pass is a great way to try loads of games without breaking the bank.

NEXT-GEN
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an Xbox one X, so my review is relative to that. The load times are just so quick! Amazing. Small and portable unlike PS5. Love the controller and the collection is good! Graphics are much better than the previous gen.

Absolutely the Best!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a beast of a machine. Faster than the PS5 (I have both), truly a marvel. Runs a bit hot but super quiet, only makes noise when a disc is inserted. Combined with Gamepass this is the best gaming experience available today. Thank you Microsoft!

A powerful new member of the family
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a great and powerful console. The set up couldn't be easier or quicker and moving your game library over is fast and painless. It is ok to hold off for now and the true power won't be utilized in games for a while and there aren't any HDMI 2.1 port monitors that are readily available. But, when you do play it for a bit, you'll fall in love with the automatically better graphics and responsiveness while features like quick resume and the faster downloads make pulling in tons of games from Xbox GamePass and will never want to backtrack to your One X.

A Powerful Gaming Machine
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The heft suggests a quality build. The unit is silent and the temperature only warm enough to let you know there is a lot of power inside that case. The weak point of the Series X is the UI. It's a catalog of everything: titles, settings, achievements, apps, community, events but poorly organized into piles: the Game Pass pile, the Store pile, the Entertainment pile and the Events pile and a main pile containing owned games, settings, achievements, Xbox Assist, HDR calibration and MS Store. It reminds me of the accumulation of the disorganized collection of tiles in Windows 8; a large number of them pushing items on sale from the MS store. My series X is connected to a large 4K TV but the display looks like it's on a 4-inch phone. Quick Resume is really neat. The game play, graphics fidelity and performance are the reasons I bought the Series X and I'm not disappointed.

I feel the need. The need for speed!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really really love the Series X so far. It’s the speed of the box that gets you. It’s sooooo fast. I had to boot up my One X on another TV and I had forgotten how much slower it is. Games load so fast now and quick resume (when it works right) is amazing. Auto HDR is making old games look even better and the frame rate improvements makes everything run buttery smooth on the LG CX. It’s also whisper quiet. The icing on the cake though is Gamepass. So much greatness streamed to this amazing box for a low monthly fee. There are so many good games my backlog is out of control. Luckily I’m saving so much time on load speeds I may get caught up soon. If you can get one I can’t imagine you being disappointed. It’s a fantastically well engineered machine that works really well. I love it. Good luck and I hope you’re able to track one down because it’s worth every penny.

Great Next Gen Console
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great system never had a problem with it right out of the box is very silent and not as big as it seems in pictures and the fact that you don’t have to stand it up but you have the option to play it on its sides helped me out a lot. Very quiet and powerful

Great Console, but lacks good exclusives
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Xbox Series X is an odd console to review. It’s certainly great in performance with support for 4K 120Hz HDR and improves performance of all games new and old, but as of now it lacks that “wow” factor that really makes it stand out compared to the older Xbox One X. I’ll admit I originally wanted the PS5 but settled for the Xbox due to lack of supply, but when I say that I mean it in terms of innovation, such as how the PS5’s new controller makes games more immersive with it’s dynamic triggers and rumble motors and a lineup of games both current and speculative based on the studios Sony has that just seem more fun. Looking back at Xbox’s history, there aren’t many unique games and franchises that I can think of; Halo, Gears of War, and Forza are the only major ones that I cared for, and even then those were all basically the same game. Fortunately it seems that Microsoft might actually care about delivering on exclusives this time around with its many studio acquisitions. Honestly the best thing about getting an Xbox over PS5 is Game Pass, which isn’t really saying much. While it’s great that players have access to a variety of games they can choose from the reality is that many of them are simply not interesting enough or are games you probably already played, especially if they were AAA games. Take for example the current lineup of AAA games, which includes Skyrim, Fallout 76, Gears of War, Forza, Doom Eternal, and now recently everything that EA Play already had in there like all the Battlefield games, Need for Speed, Star Wars Battlefront, and more: for a new player just starting out, this is an absolutely great value considering all the choices you have. However, for someone like me that generally buys these new releases for the sake of playing with my friends, many of the titles I listed are ones I’ve already played and don’t have interest in playing again. And while all of Microsoft’s new releases will be included with Game Pass, as of now and looking ahead a few months there isn’t anything coming soon. In conclusion, the Xbox Series X is a console that needs more time to really appreciate. It’s great for replaying older games for nostalgia or perhaps those that you missed, but if you’re looking for anything new aside from universal releases like from Activision, Ubisoft, EA, and Take Two you won’t find it here yet.
