Installation was a pain due to the complexity of the Comcast empire but after that, all has worked just fine and no longer pay Comcast rental fees.

Same modem I was renting from Comcast. Fast and efficient, works great. Now I own it and no more renting.

Definitely works, but periodically needs rebooting and takes a large amount of space. Bought mainly since a simpler phone line and modem combo wasn't available. Never used the wireless features. Please note that this box does share your internet connection over an open wifi network unless disabled from the Comcast site.

Easy to set up, however I think it might be slightly outdated because it only gave off one channel. I had to also buy a booster to get the signal I wanted in the far reaches of the house.

Installation was a breeze. I just transferred Ethernet cables and telephone line from my old modem/gateway to this new Arris modem/gateway and then connected the cable Internet line to the new Arris modem/gateway.. Before I could actually connect to the Internet through my Comcast connection, I had to contact Comcast and give them a couple of MAC numbers which identify my Arris modem/gateway which they had to enter into their system so that their system would recognize my modem/gateway. I have had no problems with this new modem/gateway which I purchased to avoid having to lease a modem/gateway from Comcast. This Arris modem/gateway is compatible with Comcast xfinity x1 service.

Easy setup, easy operation, easy maintenance. I'm not a tech guy and was able to get this thing to work.

I decided to buy the modem and router rather than "rent" a used one from the cable company. It works well, and I have had no glitches whatsoever!

I bought this modem online using ebay and picked it up the same day brought it home installed it and it worked. What else can I say? Great buy?

This is one monster of a modem. It has worked perfectly since being purchased . I bought it to use with Comcast internet, WiFi , and phone instead of "renting" one of theirs . It's the exact same model . It's easy to set up.

I love it plus i don't have to pay 10.00 a month extra on my bill.

Easy to connect, working in less than 30 minutes. Wish I would have purchased this long time ago. It is exactly like the one Comcast has.

I realized I was renting my modem from Comcast and after four years of paying for it asked them about taking the fee off. They said I could purchase this modem which is $200. After switching from their modem, my internet had been awful..

This was a great buy. It was very easy to install and interface with the existing system.

It is an absolute necessity to add a wifi router to your configuration. I put the Arris TG862GCT in Bridge mode (pretty simple to do), and added a Secuifi Almond wifi router (available at Amazon) - the results were incredible. Before adding the Securifi Almond my wifi reception from 6 ft away was terrible. Speedtest showed about 10% of the download speed compared with what the upgraded configuration provided. Don't just think Xfinity will wake up and fix this. Buy a wifi router and the cheapest Comcast/Xfinity cable modem you can buy.

This router does the same thing as the one you would rent from Comcast. I havent had any problems with this router,works good.

Works great and I won't be paying a monthly fee anymore.

A good modem for less money. At least I own it instead of renting from Comcast. This product meet all my internet needs at home..
