Customers are saying

Customers are satisfied with the ease of use, modem performance, and setup of the ARRIS Touchstone DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem and Wireless Router with Telephony Adapter. Many appreciate its compatibility with various internet service providers. However, some customers find the price high and express concerns about the wireless range and signal strength. A lack of included battery backup was also a point of dissatisfaction for some users.

My review is like most others, this thing does not have far distance with the wifi. I returned it and just decided to rent the one from Comcast which is similar but is bigger and has significant better range.

Router did not deliver the contractual speed. I suspect this is limited by the provider (Xfinity). As soon as I changed it back to the rental router then I got the correct speed (250 Mbps).

Changed from Verizon to Comcast for internet and phone service. Still have a landline phone. Wanted to buy a router instead of having a monthly rental fee for one. This was advertised as dual band but actually wasn't. Took lots of hours of frustration, phone calls and lost work time to figure it all out. Was able to return it once our local store realized the problem. Ended up having to rent a router anyway. Don't recommend this product. Wasn't impressed with the Best Buy folks in Geek Squad or Tech Support. The guy who answered the phone for the store was the most helpful.

The instructions provide that you need to call Xfinity for problems and they will not talk with you if it is a customer owned modem! They force you to use their modem at $10 per month!

I only managed to get 30 megs per second with my speed test while standing in front of it, returned for separate modem and router now getting 125 megs. Cancelled the phone out though

I needed it for the telephone feature in the Xfinity triple play package. It serves that purpose but as a wifi router it cant hold a candle to the Netgear unit that it replaced.

Did not accomplish the range we needed. Comcast is upgrading equipment more frequently so decided to continue to lease from them.

I can barely connect 2 devices at once without it being stalled. Not a good choice if you are a gamer. But its too slow as compared to what I paid for this modem.

I have owned several wifi cable modems and this by far is the worst. This was a replacement needed moving to Xfinity triple play. I would not buy this.

Outdated and does not provide the speed necessary for my Comcast service program. It is basically functional but not suitable for high speed internet.

This is old technology but if you want to avoid paying the monthly rental fee then this is the only choice. You will need to buy a WIFI router in addition to this since the built-in WIFI is not good (there are 11 channels which are too busy to support the streaming traffic). Also, this is a single band device...2.4 G, where new technology gives both 2.4 and 5.8 and it is still possible you would have the WIFI streaming traffic issue.

We chose to buy instead of rent from Comcast, but it didn't work for us. The tv would reboot and not come back on and the internet was very slow. Thankful for easy return, but sad it was the only model available with tv/internet/phone option and not compatible with current Comcast packages which could save $10 per month rent on our bill. Would like to know if one becomes available. Outdated per Comcast.

Had to return to the store after unsuccessfully trying to install by myself. Called comcast, had trouble connecting it, so they had to send a tech to try to install it. Service tech couldn't install it, so said it was probabaly defective and I had to return and get a new one. Ended up having to pay a service charge from comcast for the service tech coming to our house! Was not happy at all!
