Unstable Internet; have to constantly reconnect to the Internet. It is reminiscent of dial-up. Only reason I bought it is that it is the only device compatible with Comcast (which is worthy of a one star rating as well).

couldn,t get it to work with my Mac. Was on phone with Xfinity, Arris, Geek squad & Apple for over 6 hours to no avail. Finally reconnected original gateway/ router & had it working in less than 30 minutes.

I do regret buying this product, the wifi signal is very poor. I can't use my wifi in my bedroom 20ft away from my leaving room. Have never gave a bad review to people but with this product am not happy.

Spent hours with Comcast trying to install. Comcast said something wrong with modem. Returned for a replacement. Same result. Returned again. Don't know if issue is with Comcast or modem manufacturer.

100% compatible with Comcast. Unhook old modem/router. Hook up the TG862G/CT (Note that the last two letters in the model number, CT, identify it as an approved Comcast modem). Computer will recognize modem after five minutes or so. Comcast log in will appear. You will need your account number. Follow directions. Four easy steps. Takes about 15 minutes for proper downloads. To access internet with laptops, smart phones, and tablets, click on the network name now appearing in your wireless device, (provided on a large label on side of modem). Then enter the unique password pre-installed and listed on the same label. You will be good to go. If you had a separate router before, that was not a great match, internet access may have been interrupted while using your home phone. This problem goes away now. Return your Comcast modem, and enjoy a $10 savings each month. Modem pays for itself in 20 months. I had my last one for over ten years, which means I paid a boat load of money for it. Good luck.

However, our set up was worked well for us but Comcast started harassing us to upgrade. This was far from an upgrade. It is slow and the wifi signal is terrible. We are returning this today. Sorry!

I returned this item after the Comcast tech tried to find a location hat it would function. He finally decided that it was an older model and tried the Comcast router, and it worked great.

I bought this modem in order to stop paying Comcast for theirs. While on the internet every click just kept spinning. Very slow! Do not purchase. I returned this product.

Best Buy salesman said it had same features/capabilities as router/modem that Xfinity provides for rent. It doesn't. WiFi protocol is a generation behind the one in the Xfinity model

My old router worked fine. New router was only one xfinity says will work with triple play. Couldnt connect to net. Old router reconnevted, working in 1 minute

Very frustrating. wifi is slow, pages won't load, devices have to be connected multiple times. Movies freeze and computer pages won't load. garbage!

Just 3 or 4 months old and Comcast says it needs to be replaced; works intermittently. Will seek help from Best Buy to make me whole - stay tuned.

Well like many others we were held hostage by Comcast for $10 a month just to have their service which we pay way to much for! Well in the last year I have had to trade in this same make type modem 3 times do to many different issues. I figured on the gas alone going to and from the Comcast office this will pay for itself. The ones they trade you for are all refurbished items which either have issues are on their last licks. So now I have a brand new one and I get speeds of up 88MBps vs. 35 or less on Comcast issue garbage! Do it get away from Comcast's grip!!

Constantly drops wifi signal and have to reconnect even if in the same room. Wired is ok but too cumbersome

I had to replace my modem because my prior modem had reached "end of life" and began slowing. Even after I had read some poor reviews I picked this one because it stated in the description, "Power adapter, Ethernet cable, telephone cable, cable clips, telephone battery backup" And silly mean took that to mean it CAME with the battery backup. Even after calling Best Buy and speaking to a Representative and them telling me it should have been in the box and sending out another and still finding ABSOLUTELY no battery back up in the box, I decided to write this review so no one else bought it thinking they would have a complete product as described. You can however purchase one at Amazon for under $7.00

Waste of money. Unable to handle high speed internet according to Comcast. Top Internet reached was 25 Mbps.

I been using this modem for the past 3 months with no problem. The speeds are steady and the instructions are easy to follow. Great way to save money instead of renting one. The only reason why is getting 4 stars its because it only has 4 ethernet ports.

Comcast could not get this unit to register and had to return it to store. It is possible unit was faulty.

I tried for over five hours with two different Comcast specialists and finally was told the unit was bad.

This is a proprietary item that is subpar to the one you would rent from Comcast. Would not recommend.
