Gameplay is easy after a little learning. Lots of action.

all I can say is I thoroughly enjoy playing. It is truly a different experience compared to GTA 5. While I appreciate the open world concept, things to do are limited. For ex. GTA 5, you can jack cars and hit random people. Despite of its limitations, I love being pulled into karaoke sessions and watching the story of Yakuza unfold. The cut scenes are very captivating.

For those who don't like character development, this is not the game for you. For those who don't like to have to read subtitles, this is not a game for you. For those who have traveled to Japan or love anything to do with its unique culture, this is a game that achieves a virtual trip to the land of the rising sun. It is an immersive experience and a fun time.

This is like the modern day "Streets of Rage" or "Final Fight" style beat-em-up, but set in Japan in 3D with RPG elements. This will not disappoint.

Having never played a Yakuza game before, I went out on a limb and purchased this game. I couldn't be happier with my decision. While the combat is exciting, the best part of this game is the storyline. Whether it's the main quest or the side activities, the story is at once tragic, funny, and gripping. There is so much to do in this game that you won't get bored. Highly recommended!

Fun and actiony, lives up to expectations from previous games.

I rarely write reviews and only enjoy playing a few of the best games every year. I'm 34 and this is the only game that's ever made me laugh so hard I had tears in my eyes. I can't say enough of how great this game is and look forward to more in this series. Also, this is the first Yakuza game I've ever played. Anyone can jump in this game and there will be something to do. Love it!

Great story, fun gameplay, lackluster graphics (tho forgivable)

The yakuza series has been around for decades now but it's never really broken into the mainstream US crowds until it's later iteration of Yakuza 4 and of course this is the 5th game in the series that bridges the gap between the first games stories and works more of a prequel as such. If you like playing other open world games such as GTA and the like, you'll find a lot to do in side jobs and activities as well here. The only thing that could be a deal breaker is that you will be doing quite a bit of subtitle reading for the main story. But at a great price, it's def worth adding to your collection!

Awesome great story great graphics in love with all the games in the series

This is the strongest game in the franchise. If you're a fan of Sega games, brawlers, Shenmue, etc., buy this game ASAP. I love just exploring the world, but there's a huge storyline here with great writing and voice acting (undubbed, text is English). Graphics look vastly superior to Yakuza 4, too.

So far its great, the story and nice and the combat is amazing.

Bought this on a whim after seeing some positive reviews online. This game is the perfect opportunity to jump into the franchise if you have never played a Yakuza game before. It is a little dialog heavy, but the story will keep you hooked. The real fun is exploring the streets of 80's Japan. About 6 hours in and I am looking forward to finishing the game.

This game is incredible. Not only is there an insane amount of stuff you can do, such as play baseball, dance clubs, old sega arcades (yes you can play full sega arcade games) etc. But the story and main quests are just fun as heck. Not to mention is has that old Dreamcast feel to it, but in a modern style rpg. Do yourself a favor and find a copy of this!
