Customers are saying
Customers are overwhelmingly positive about Yakuza 0's gameplay, story, and the sheer amount of content, including side quests and mini-games. Many appreciate the unique fighting styles and the immersive Japanese-inspired open world. However, some players expressed minor concerns regarding the subtitles and controls, while others found the frequency of cutscenes to be excessive. Overall, the positive feedback on the core gameplay loop significantly outweighs the negative comments.

One of the best games of the generation
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The world is so intoxicating. There are hours upon hours of amazing, funny side content. My first play through took 65 hours, I did most of the side content. The gameplay is extremely addicting with awesome finisher moves, and the story is incredible. A must have for any PS4 Owner.

Awesome 80's action
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is just crazy. The game places you in the role of Japanese Yakuza who has been framed for murder. A very serious intense crime drama plays out as the story progresses. In between this story you follow side quests are completely crazy and insane. The game is wonderful!

Good game/could have been better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great addition to the yakuza series, having played the previous games on the playstation 2 and 3 this was a game i had to buy. The good points about this game is that gameplay is fun, i love minigame/sidequests which this has a lot of, graphics is great(started playing by streaming from ps4 to my pc and was amazed when finally seeing it on my TV direct), shows a backstory of how the characters came to be in the previous games. there was a lot of fun and actually educational info in the game(now i know what whiskey to try in japan, lol) , fighting level doesnt get to a point where you get invincible and requires some skill to defeat some bosses. also there is many things to explore to get a 100% complete(which is actually good and bad since repetitiveness can get boring) , which brings me to What i didnt like, sidequests can get repetitve and somewhat frustrating. The sidequests where you have to play retro games and beat a certain score can be some times frustrating, the dancing mini game, . also, since it is a linear story the ending is predictable, it would have been great to have alternate endings.. Overall I liked the game and felt it was worth the price and a good addition to the Yakuza series, and a good introduction to the series for those that have not played the previous games, hopefully the next installment can improve on this one(not kiwami or #6) and continue the series with #7, #6 hopefully will be released sooner than early 2018, i have played the japan version and can't understand why its taking so long for a english one, hopefully they are fixing some glitches. They should at least make HD remakes of the previous ones. come on Sega!!

9/10
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't played a Yakuza game since the original. This entry being a prequel made it easy for me to get back into the series. The gameplay is addictive, satisfying, and rewarding. The story is engrossing and makes me want to never stop playing the game. Highly recommended.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can't believe it too me so long to play this series. Great First Step
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game is amazing. It does such a good job juggling serious moments with humor that's off the wall. The combat is great but it's the little things that count most. The culture, substories, karaoke, dancing. There's a lot of effort put into many things and it shows

Absolute Chaos
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a great jumping into point for a series I've always wanted to get into. It has great characters with an elaborate story. The combat is goofy/over the top and is an absolute blast. There's a ton of content and side stuff to keep you busy for 50+ hours.

Great intro to the series, Plenty of fun to be had
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I should start by saying that I have not played any Yakuza game before, as they never seemed to be on my radar. This one enticed me due to being a prequel to the series, which felt like a great starter. Quite frankly, what I can say is that I am blown away at how great this game is. Between the enthralling main story and the neat little social side-stories, I have not experienced a game quite like this. The gameplay is quite varied between running businesses of sorts, doing sidequests where you are helping strangers, and fighting your way through the streets. The graphics do feel slightly dated in a way, and the movement of the characters can definitely feel robotic, but as someone who usually has that kind of stuff bother him a lot, the style surrounding most other aspects of this game really envelope it to make it a very satisfying experience TL;DR - The game has style. Buy it.

Is this a good game?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Never played a Yakuza game up to this point so I had little to no idea going in what to expect. All I knew is that it was story heavy with quirky side missions and some beat ‘me up parts. I wanted to like this game, and there are enjoyable parts, it just wasn’t for me. The beat ‘em parts are fun, and if you like quick time/rhythm sections in games you’ll love the side missions, but the story. The story is the majority of the content, so you have to like day to day simulators and gangster movies. Watching these guys talk about their daily lives and then get drinks and go on about life philosophy’s and then eat ramen and joke about their childhood... I don’t know, it was about 50% boring for me personally. And when the majority of the game is 50% boring I just couldn’t get into it. The game is beautiful though, the city is packed with detail and things to do, day or night you will want to occasionally just stop and look around. It looks like a lived in place, the developers have been there, lived there, and have a passion for Japan and it’s culture.

The prequel that started it all!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is called Yakuza 0 because it is a prequel to the mainline Yakuza series which have now spawned 6 games about the life of Kazuma Kiryu. Here we meet Kazuma at a young age before he became a big shot in the Yakuza world. Unlike the "Kiwami" series, this game isn't a remaster of a previously released PS2/PS3 game but it was made for the PS4 from the start, thus the graphics quality and detail is very good and the gameplay feels tighter. If you're on the fence whether you want to invest your time and money on the whole Yakuza series, I suggest you buy this one first to see if this is your cup of tea and whether you like Kazuma Kiryu as a protagonist, as he is the one who will carry the next six games you will play in this series.

Sega delivers once again!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the first Yakuza game I have truly put time into (played a little bit of 3) and it has been one of the best experiences I have had with a game in recent years. Engaging story, gameplay and Japanese setting. Would recommend to anyone with a PS4!

Great game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I found out about the Yakuza series through a Twitch streamer. I felt like playing a game set in modern times, plus the story seemed interesting, so I got it. It's an amazing game that is very unique in the way it is all set up.

Under-appreciated action series. Must play.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game has it all, great action, great story (which is rare), great pacing, great side story content. Can be both humorous at times, and melancholy at others. Would easily recommend this game, and this series to anyone who likes games.

Great Initiation into Yakuza Franchise!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I knew about the Yakuza series but never actually played any of them. If you're unfamiliar with the series this is actually a great start as this game is a prequel. Challenging combat, goofy side quests, and memorable characters make this game a definite recommend. Be aware this game might not be for everyone as it is only japanese voice acting with subtitles. Also the camera can get annoying.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is really, really fun. The story is great, the mechanics are fun, the mini games are superb. You can go bowling and have a chicken as your bowling team manager. WHAT PART OF THAT HASN'T SOLD YOU ON THIS GAME YET??

Great game!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game is very fun, but it's definitely a Japanese game through and through. It's all in Japanese with English subtitles, if that's not your thing. But it's a really good story, and a nice open world that's not too big.
