For anyone who wants to get into the series, this is a great place to start as it is the remake of the original. Some of the game play may feel dated as it is a remake of a PS2 game, but this is the main reason it may be better to start with this and then move on to the prequel - yakuza zero. This way you don't notice the improvements to the later game until after you've finished this one.

I have always enjoyed these games, since the ps2 era. If you enjoy this silly, over the top fighting arcade style, go for it. It's a well done remake and adds more story and content then the original ps2 release. I mean what more could you want, this is great.

This remake of Yakuza is fantastic. If you're completely new to the series, I suggest starting with the superior Yakuza 0. It provides some meaningful context for the events in this game. My only complaints are the battle system, which feels less responsive than that of Yakuza 0, and the side quests, which aren't as enjoyable as Yakuza 0 either. Nonetheless this is a great game.

This is an HD remake of the ps2 game I played. That was my first yakuza game and for 11.00 why wouldn't I buy it?

It's fun if you're a Yakuza fan but I would start with Yakuza 0 if it's your first one.

Yakuza Kiwami is a remake of the original Yakuza game for PS2. The game looks great, and everything you'd expect from the original game is here. For story reasons, I would recommend starting with Yakuza 0, but this should definitely be your next stop after that!

This is the PS2 first Yakuza remastered. Better controls and looks amazing on the PS4.

I bought this game for my son for Christmas. He has really enjoyed it. No complaints.

I cannot say enough of the sheer entertaining aspect of not only this first entry, but ongoing entries as well. You will definitely not be disappointed to immerse yourself in this series; and if you are interested, this is the literally the place to start!

Long game, lots of content. Would recommend playing Yakuza 0 first though

If you have never played tge Yakuza series, then you are missing out on one of the most unique game franchise out there. Now you can replay the first game in the series in glorious HD. Well worth the budget price, for a 30-40 hour story mixing both drama and comedy.

never played the orginal on PS3, and so far i have been enjoying this game immensely

First, let me state that I have never played a single title in the Yakuza series. I have heard of it and seen a few screen shots but never gave it much thought. There are entirely too many games and not enough time in my schedule so I don't really get to game like I did when I was younger. I gave this game a try because of the excellent value. At 30 bucks you get a brand new STEEL case game. I am not on board with the whole "digital download" thing. I guess I'm old school and I still prefer to have a library of games that are kept in immaculate condition on a shelf. The game itself is fun, fresh and visually stunning. I'm sure long term fans can appreciate the game more but as a newcomer I'm still enjoying myself. The story line is intriguing and the immersion into Japanese culture is wonderful. The dialogue is witty and deep which makes the storyline just as deep and engaging as well. The only thing I'm not too fond of is the fighting system. It's a good system it just takes time to get used to. By that I mean that it isn't exactly complicated, it's simply that if you want your combat to look stylish and spectacular it takes time to get used to. I still find myself button mashing and I simply don't like that. It's not a bad thing, I just have to learn how to blend the move combinations better. Overall, great game.

Great for weebs who like yakuza shananagans. Overall enjoyable but the difficulty is REAL. I consider myself to be quite adept at action vidja, but this game is just unfair early on. You can get some decent abilities later and abuse the AI but early on you just gotta be a scrub and spam healing items. Stories aight. Will play the next one someday.

The game still shows its age compared to other recent Yakuza games, but it is still a well deserved refresh for the game that started the series.

i was excited when they announced the remake of the first game now they are doing the second game in jap dec i'll be waiting for that game sometime in 2018 but other than that its great game and can't wait for game 6 i hope u injoy playing this jap rpg game :)

Dont buy it if you played the original. buy it if you never played the original. Steelbook is sick

Never played a Yakuza game before...and it was so much fun. Highly recommended!
