My first time going against other reviews, but to me this doesn’t feel like a game. I think I’m half way into it, and it’s been more like a TV series. The story is really great, don’t get me wrong, but gameplay isn’t there or non existent, or takes too long before I can feel a challenge. I want to raise the difficulty because it’s TOO easy but they prevent u from doing so until you beat the game apparently. So it pretty much feels like your zipping through just to get to the next 30 min cutscene. Don’t expect a game, but rather a good tv show worth watching.

Great reboot of the Yakuza series. Ichiban is an incredibly likable character and the addition of turn-based combat is refreshing. Must-buy if you're a Yakuza fan.

This is a really fun JRPG with a lot of heart. I love the way that they've altered the series from a beat-'em-up to a turn-based rpg. This game was made with love.

My first Yakuza game, and love it! The story is good (cutscenes can be long though) and I really like the turn-based RPG elements. My favorite game of 2020!

Different from previous Yakuza games. I find like a dragon more comedy. Combat is RPG style so it is different from the previous games but works well here.

This is a new, fantastic start to the longstanding Yakuza series. But I would definitely recommend playing the earlier games first because this game has a lot of callbacks to the previous games, it is NOT a totally clean slate. Having some understanding about the world of the game, the factions and characters within it will greatly add to your enjoyment of the game. And for people who are worried with the switch to turn based, don't be. This is very much Persona 5 but Yakuza, it has fantastic gameplay and fantastic moves that will leave you either laughing or in awe.

Great new game in the yakuza series. Kasuga is an awesome main character, the story is solid as always, and the turn based combat is a welcomed addition.

This is everything you would expect from a Yakuza game except for the beat em up combat, which I find entertaining, but not deep or particularly fun. The series is great for story but they all played like PS2 games before this one. If you were looking into getting into the series, maybe this one isn't a good entry because the turnbased combat may be hit or miss for some people and going to the other games after this may be jarring. But any Yakuza fan would already be happy to experience the emotional story and wacky gameplay that they'd expect from the series.

Stupid fun for sure. These games are over the top and satirical and totally fun. The graphics are really good and even for an end of life game.

This is the most off the wall insane game I have ever played and I love every minute of it. The turn based fighting is refreshing for the series.

This game is amazing, and the steelbook looks pretty awesome. The game runs perfectly well on disk and looks gorgeous.

I love the Yakuza series, and the JRPG elements that have been added are a fun alteration from the original beat ‘em up. Story is pretty good too.

Most interesting Yakuza title so far with different turn based combat, super vibrant world, a little strung out and long but still fun.

This is a good entry in the Yakuza series. One extra benefit is that they still come with the steelbook (despite getting it years after release. An added benefit it it has a free PS5 update.

I was excited for this game when it was announced and I can safely say that I did not disappoint. From beginning to end, it is an amazing game that lives up to its predecessors in both story and gameplay. The characters are fantastic and the gameplay, while a bit strange, is also fantastic and lots of fun. I would highly recommend this to any fan of the Yakuza series and would encourage those who haven’t tried the series to play them so that they can get maximum enjoyment from this game and experience one of the best series ever made.
