Just ok
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.it's an entry level AV receiver that doesn't have some of the features you may want (HDR, ARC, etc). pretty clunky interface as well. Meh, works tho. Sounds ok.

Excellent
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first reciver and I love it. First of I have a samsung 4k tv (ku6300) and has only 1 hdmi to have hdr signal, with this reciver I can connect my uhd bluray player and my ps4 pro and get that hdr signal without changing the cable on the back of the tv. Second, for my first time using a reciver was very easy to use. I have it with polk t serie speakers and the sound is very clear and just amazing. Great at all in movies, games and music. It has a a lot of settings for preference, it has a ypao that makes callibration easy. The only thing for me that does not like is banana plugs only for left and right front channel only, I would like to have it on all channels. I love this reciver

For $300?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have simple needs: I have a blu ray, cable and a TV. And I also have very nice speakers, and the clarity of a $300 amp like this is almost beyond belief. I have always had good stereos but when my last one quit I decided to downgrade as I don't listen to much music any more. The thing is I didn't downgrade because this is so clear and gives me way more than enough volume with 5 speakers, including center, in my small living room. My 42 y/o B&O front speakers are still awesome (the pair cost $500 back then) and provide the bass response I need when using enhanced bass from the amp. I highly recommend this amp for anyone with simple needs.

Was a good receiver for the average home theater

poor sound quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's not that the sound is distorted or scratchy, it is there is no raw power behind the music. It's like having a very slow car that is strained to go 70mph compared to a car that is just happily idling along at 70mph, you know it has more, and a comparable stereo would have a deeper presence behind every note played. So i guess it would be ok unit for someone that is just looking for a unit to make some back ground noise. I would prefer a unit that is Audiophile quality and sound. and for that reason I give it a low score

TV Sound/Picture Sync Problem
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV Sound/Picture Sync Problem Up front: I was not connecting as recommended with the pass-through video. I have too many old components for that. I just wanted to connect it to my TV audio output to get nice sound through my speakers. Still, that does not explain why the sound was lagging the picture on the screen. It looked like a badly dubbed movie. People were speaking and the sound was delayed. I know it was the receiver, because my old receiver did not have this problem. Also, I could simultaneously listen through headphones fed by the TV audio signal. The speakers sounded like an echo following behind the headphones. I was using the TV optical output to make the connection. There are no other adjustments or connections possible. Best Buy offered no help except to tell me I should use a sound bar instead of a receiver! At least they were nice about refunding my money.

Not built for last long (life <200 hr)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Be caution about entry level yamaha product! Been a fun since 10 years ago. I bought the RXV-377 two years ago. It dies days ago. Just out of warranty time.It runs about 100 to 150 hours in total. I only use less than half of volume at home. Open the case and found digital board and connector are poorly built. If you don't care about life of AV, (I believe most cares), you can bet. Lemon experience with Yamaha AV quality.
