Works well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only problem I’ve had in a month with the AVR is understanding the copious online manual. At about 180 pages it’s all you can handle. Fortunately, the Yamaha help desk was pretty knowledgeable and guided me through my problems.

Good amp
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good 7.2 receiver used in my home theater. I have a few issues with the 2 outputs. Can't hook it up to my projector and a separate tv. It just flashes and loses the picture because of a resolution issue. I may need a newer projector, but both are 1080p, so thought it should work. Otherwise it's good.

Best Value out there
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Yamaha product has exceeded every expectation. The ease of setup and integration was amazing. This is a dream component for anyone tired of poor quality sound. It does not break the bank and is the best value out there.

Quality Receiver
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We use this receiver a lot. It is airplay capable and has a great app that allows you to everything from your phone. This is very helpful so you do not have have the receiver hooked up to a monitor for programming.

Very clunky User interfaces (HW/SW)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace a 20yr old Yamaha receiver for new features, but was disappointed with its dependence on a tablet or phone based interface. Also, there is no line level output for center channel I had on my old receiver. The SW user interface is very hacky and hard to get to basic functions after selecting an input like Net Radio. Also, can't figure out how to adjust volume on Zone 2 through the app... User manual is VERY incomplete. As much as I would like to recommend Yamaha, I say keep looking at other brands.

This allows me to finally see 4K Content
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced my old Sony Receiver and it just made a world of difference with my AV system. It was easy to setup and worked well with my Cable, Xbox and Fire TV. I can wait to get my last set of speakers installed.

Pleasantly surprised
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Recently my old Yamaha receiver was damaged (long story, thanks honey) and I had to get a new receiver this one was the direct replacement and so far I am quite satisfied

Works great so far...will give 5-stars in 5-years
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Yamaha receiver before this one, and it had the dreaded DTS chip fair problem that rendered the unit, basically, useless. I love Yamaha products, and hope the new one lasts longer than the last one. I had assumed that a Yamaha receiver was a lifelong investment.

Acceptable but weak sound. Difficult to use.
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice unit. Very complex to setup and use. Power is disappointing. I expected more from Yamaha. This unit replaced a JVC from the 90's that was hit by lightening. This unit has a higher power rating but has far less volume and power than the JVC. I guess newer receivers are made cheaper. This unit has many options and are difficult to use and understand. The radio is painful and it is easy to get lost in the settings. I gave up on the radio as switching from FM to my TV surround sound is non-intuitive and difficult. There is also a problem with the HDMI inputs. Sound stops from HDMI and setup does not come up on the TV screen as it should. A hard power reset is all that will fix it.

Good receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good receiver. Love the Yamaha app. Simple and easy to use. Wish I could control the sequence for power-up when connected to the TV. When I turn my TV on, the receiver wants to default to the BD Player instead of the FiOS TV box, probably due to the delay in the FiOS box coming on line.

This was a good purchase.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good. It works great with my old vintage speakers. However I do plan to add a sub and a center channel set in the near future. Plenty of inputs to accomodate all of my gear.

This System is a BEST Buy
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We couldn't be happier with the overall perfomance, functionality, and flexibility of the system. The YPAO (auto speaker setup software) worked fantastically.
