I sold my old Pioneer Elite receiver and purchased this one, Best Buy had it at $100 off of normal price. The receiver has many functions, so it may take some time getting used to all the functions. I especially like the front USB port the allows a flash drive loaded with music to be played on it. I have infinity beta 50 speakers as front and center, and Polk subwoofer and inwall speakers. The receiver produces great sound, I biamped the front speakers for best sound quality.

I got this to replace my 500 Watt Tecnics unit...mainly because of the Bluetooth. No disappointment there. There is more power with the Yamaha....noticeably in the surround speakers. Clear and clean sound all around with my Bose 5.1 system (allows some room for growth) . However, I do think I need to get a stand alone sub woofer to get that "rich" bass sound. Set up was very easy. Operating with all the different settings is a learning curve, but not a big problem. Great compatibility with TV and CD component.

This receiver is great. My only complaint would be that the remote is huge and heavy, making it pretty cumbersome to use.

I got this to upgrade from my current Yamaha A/V receiver that was 8 years old. The old receiver worked just fine, it just wasn't 4k compatible and missing a few of the nice new features the current generation has. This has been a solid replacement and continues to offer the same great quality I've come to know from Yamaha. The remote for this one was also an upgrade, and feels much more polished and built with quality in mind. Well worth the cost if you're into home theater.

    Party Mode!!

This is an excellent mid-level receiver with all the features you need and more. What I like most, compared to other receivers I have owned or installed, is the party mode, which allows you to quickly extend music or movie sounds from the main living area to a patio or second room. There is even a dedicated "party mode" button on the remote. Other receivers require a number of steps to turn on Zone 2 or 3, which non AV mavens find overwhelming.

This receiver works great, took a bit to set up all the devices and speakers, but once I got through it, the system worked as expected. I wanted a system with some wireless capability, note you have to download MusicCast and purchase/use MusicCast compatible speakers. Overall the system is powerful enough, I still am using multiple remotes as my Harmony remote doesn't seem to manipulate the volume on the receiver/speakers, may be in my set up, but I have tried to sync unsuccessfully. This and the setup process is a bit tedious are only reason for 4 stars - once it is set up, it is a great system.
