This receiver was fairly easy to set up and the sound is good. Have not yet been able to figure out how to set up the TV for surround sound.

I needed a new receiver since my network functionality on my Denon receiver went bad (will not buy Denon again as two receivers went bad). This had 5.1 surround and wireless (Airplay) capability. Works as advertised. Not a lot of fancy features but a good receiver for the price.

I bought this looking for a receiver with compatible HDMI pass through for my new 4K tv specifically wanting HDT support. So far very pleased with functionality, compatibility, and sound quality. The factory settings for sub output were more than I prefer but otherwise sounds great right out of the box. Remote is easy to use and common functions are prominently displayed with big buttons. Music cast is nice for quickly playing Pandora from my phone. Only drawback is lack of integrated phono pre amp but I knew that when I bought it so no room for complaint.

My first attempt at a true Surround Sound didn't work out with that sound bar they tried to say that it's true surround sound. However, when I changed that sound bar for a Yamaha Receiver with a full set of Polk speakers, it knocked my socks off. Excellent....

Makes smart TV's better, the HDMI interface between the HTS and the TV really shows up when watching Net Flicks, Amazon, etc. With my old HTS the TV would constantly go into sleep mode with the HDMI there is a feed back channel in the cable that stops the sleep mode from happening.

My old Yamaha had a problem. The Best Buy rep. Helped me pick this unit out. It is an AV receiver that is more powerful, with more features than my last one. Yamaha is the top of the line. And yes, this cost less than the original one. I am very happy.

This is a very good receiver for someone who doesn't need multi room control. Programmable, more than adequate HDMI ports, Easily handles Smart TV apps, multiple sound sources and multiple components. Easy to use if you familiarize yourself with the unit operation manual. Purchased at a great price.

Wanted to upgrade my Yamaha receiver to a model that supports wifi & bluetooth. After reviewing other similar priced receivers, decided to stick with Yamaha. Good choice! Excellent receiver and I now enjoy wifi and bluetooth connectivity that the older Yamaha did not have.

This is my 3rd Yamaha Receiver. I only purchase these models and have one for every room where I have surround sound. Easy setup on all areas from assigning inputs, setting ups sound levels with the field mic. The app to connect and use from your phone is cool but I have never really had a use for it.

I have a friend that had one and I was asked to help set up devices on it for him. I was impressed with the number of HDMI connections and all of the different function. Wireless and Bluetooth connections to my computers is an extra bonus for game play.

Great for a no frills unit. Replaced an old receiver with this one

Very happy with this receiver so far. Powers two Polk T50s nicely with plans to add more speakers soon. Really appreciate being able to stream thru the receiver, means I don't have to keep my phone on me at all times. The app works pretty well too.

I wanted a new unit with lots of happy power to add into my Carvin amp/speakers that had a USB port, plus WiFi and Bluetooth so I can add in my music selections while I am sitting and working...this did the trick!

This is my second Yamaha unit and I love them. I primarily use it for music. It is powering a pair of B&W Towers. They sound great. I didn't get it for the Musicast, but have enjoyed using it. I would totally recommend this unit.
