Specifically, we wanted speakers for our front deck. While they have worked, they have not projected sound as well as we had hoped. We have also struggled with the wiring, which has not endured the sea air as well as hoped. So, okay, but below hopes.

Good speakers, but I expected more for the price

While I enjoy them very much, I have seen many speakers (aka Radio Shack), for half the price that deliver a deeper sound. These really have a teeny sound for the price and are not typical Yamaha quality if you ask me.
