Solid home theater receiver. All was expected on setup and the sound quality is an improvement on the 15+ year old unit it replaced. Setup required a bunch of manual tweaking after the automated process just did not get it right. Overall a great fit for our purposes in a dedicated theater.

This model had some significant defects. 1. The chipset which controls the querying of fresh video / audio signal on the currently selected HDMI port send to passively wait for the connected device to provide a signal (which won't necessarily happen if it's on standby). This causes the amplifier to go to a blank screen or simply NOT fully switch to the HDMI connected device. You'll have to force the device to give a signal and even then, the amplifier still might not switch over. 2. The video and audio of and HDMI connected device (other then the TV itself) will be SIGNIFICANTLY out of sync. After lots of tweaks to the settings, you might reduce it, but it's likely to remain to some degree. Everything else works fine, but these two flaws are the PRIMARY functions of the 4K HDMI Dolby Digital and DTS receiver. So, for me, it's not worth it.

Easy setup, smart receiver, pretty much connected to everything automatically.

A nice upgrade from my old receiver - the Spotify integration is really convenient.

I really enjoy this receiver and more specifically I like Yamaha brand and it's UI.

The HDMI input never were recognized by the receiver. Never could get it to work. Very disappointing- my old receiver is a Yamaha - I expected better
