Best Buy is the Best Buy. Totally doesn’t class experience

Wasn't as impressed as I'd hoped. It felt like Yamaha was trying to provide too much for the budget. I returned it after getting a different brand for about twice as much. Nothing against Yamaha, my old AV Receiver was Yamaha {circa 1998}.

The physical design of the receiver is OK. That's about it as far as good points. The menu is pretty ugly for a modern receiver, and the description in the settings doesn't provide much information. There are also no dedicated buttons on the receiver or remote for each HDMI input, so you have to scroll through them, and if you have CEC enabled for your devices, sometimes just scrolling through will turn them on, which is a pain. That's it for the meh stuff. Now for the bad: the only reason I upgraded from my previous Sony receiver, was for 120Hz passthrough for my PS5 and Xbox Series X to my LG OLED TV. This feature was supposed to be released via a firmware update already, but anyone who's done some recent reading now knows that it's an issue with the Panasonic chipset in the unit causing issues. Denon and Marantz use the same chipset, but theirs will at least work properly with the PS5 to output 120Hz. None of them work properly with the Xbox Series X... but Denon and Marantz are shipping out adapters to fix the issue. Yahama has provided NOTHING for any connected 120Hz device and hasn't even updated their "we'll get back to you here" page where they admit that there's an issue. This is a huge failure, especially for those of us who only upgraded for this single feature.

Bluetooth has to connect through an app, app needed to connect to wifi. App wouldnt connect to wifi. Cannot connect through bluetooth

Got this based on my Best Buy’s tech recommendation. Not disappointed.

All the latest features in a 5.2 receiver with good RMS power for my living space. And very affordable.

After 4 months, it has decided that generating actual output to speakers is no longer interesting. It seems to do everything else, except its primary function. It isn't as if this thing was rode hard and put away wet - I have rarely used it at all, and never over half volume. Also, the support team keeps bankers' hours. I will have to wait until Monday to talk to anyone about repair or replacement.

Love it. So light and sleek. Just enough hdmi ports and able to connect 2 subwoofers.

We purchased this as an upgrade to our previous Yamaha and are not disappointed.

I'm very partial to Yamaha receivers. This one lives up to the brands name. Very happy with it.

Still waiting on full HDMI 2.1 support. As of typing this, there is still no 4k@120hz passthrough on any yamaha receiver

The HDMI input never were recognized by the receiver. Never could get it to work. Very disappointing- my old receiver is a Yamaha - I expected better

I was sold this discounted open box item without any of the other items that come in a new unopened box. Didn’t realize I wasn’t getting a remote control until I got it home. Returned it immediately for a refund.

It seemed to be working until I installed the app on my phone then all sound quit coming out of my wired Bose speakers. I guess it only works with blue tooth speakers once you pair it with the app. I returned it.

I've been waiting to buy this receiver until all of the issues had been solved, and it seems like we're there now. I love Yamaha receivers, and this one has been worth every penny so far.
