Needed to upgrade the old 5.1 surround sound amp to the latest and greatest and this fit the bill. Has all the features and then some. It does everything you'll need and you can't go wrong with Yamaha products...some of the best!!! Recommended buy for anyone looking to upgrade. Lot's of power.

For an entry-level Atmos AVR it works beyond great. The sound is clear and strong. The 7 speaker processor allows multiple options on speaker options. The HDMI video pass-through works great with a quality picture. Also the app allows you to control most setting and features of the AVR. Highly recommended this product

Incredible bang for buck. Wish 9&11 channel receivers weren’t double and triple this price. The only thing I’m still trying to figure out is streaming atmos from iPhone. Not sure if it’s possible.

7/11/22: If you bought this for vrr and 2.1 gaming features STOP!! it doesn't have it (yet) Maybe never. It does everything else really well, if you don't play games or next gen games this doesn't even matter its a decent av for movies. but if u bought it to play games w/ all 2.1 features, it still cant. However, i was able to achieve what i wanted by plugging the xsx and ps5 directly to the tv, then ran the av receiver hdmi from the arc port. this allowed the passthrough of 5.1 audio to the next gen systems, while still allowing me to take advantage of the 2.1 features like vrr the tv natively has, but the receiver breaks the chain because they sold us an unfinished product. I'm upset that yamaha has not only dragged they're feet with this, but have ppl who bought they're products looking like fools. buy another receiver if u got this to game.

Best bang for your buck with this receiver. Has all the must including 8k support, 4k @120hz, albeit a future firmware release. Some minor bugs here and there, nothing that a restart didn't fix.

I heard a lot of people speaking good about yamaha receivers and was skeptical to try it! IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT, make my speakers sound loud and crisp!

Quite a receiver! Used in my home theater with 5.1 speakers and subwoofer. Using the YPAO helps calibrate the receiver to my room. Support for pretty much all of the paid streaming music services and a huge selection of free radio stations from all over the world via an internet connection.

Great sound, and innovative design. But that's not all, over the next few months firmware updates will provide this model with the capability to handle next-generation AV features such as 8K video. Couple that with the ease of setup and you've got more than enough reasons to make this your next AVR.

Loving my new stereo system hooked up my Bose Speakers and it Rocks!!! Picture on the TV is really 4K looking and the HDMI’s in the back complete my Shamrock Theater.

Sounds Great. Dolby Atmos is a little tricky to setup. User Interface is from 1992, but does work once you get used to it.

Music quality is great...movies sound great...lots of options to tailor to your needs...I watched some reviews on this AVR and it pushed out 140 watts per channel...two channels driven...when it comes to setting up...there is a guy on YT that goes through everything

Very disappointed. Purchased less than a year ago and all of yhe HDMI ports are bad, can't use. Hoping Best Buy or Yamaha at least take care of this defective product.

Best Buy had competitive pricing but especially better availability for this item. Receiver has all updated features for current A/V system such as HDCP and HDMI. Integrates well with MusicCast. Only wish it had second HDMI output for Zone 2.

I've been enjoying my new receiver that's hooked up to my projector, it make my home theater sound great.

Its kind of hard understanding some of the options they provide you. Kind of bulky, lots features coming later on with firmware update. It sounded really great out of the box!

So far I'm really enjoying this receiver. The sound is good. I just wish it had more of a lighted display with blue lights or something instead of the bland white led display.
