Excellent receiver with distortion-free output (cleaner than almost any amp I've heard) and easy setup. YPAO works great to customize speaker setup. I know there are some haters for the new design, but I like it. Small gripes: should have a detachable power cord, and still no timeline on when firmware will be ready for the HDMI 2.1 features.

Great product! Sound was good and powerful. The 100 watts per channel comes across strong and clear. Plenty of bass and treble for the pickiest audiophile.

Yamaha makes a great receiver. This product provides great sound to my audio surround sound system. Love the sound, so easy to hear what is stated in movies and TV shows.

Good modern update for our home theater system. Was easy to set up and while it now sounds great, there were a few things to work through in the setup: 1. I used the included microphone to automatically configure the audio settings and this didn't work well at all. Sounded terrible frankly- front channel was completely muffled, couldn't hear dialogue and the sides and rear channels had almost zero audio coming through them. 2. So I had to go in and manually adjust all of the audio settings to get the home theater sounding right.

Great value and drives my speakers very efficiently. I conectes and old pair of KEF iQ9 towers and I am using in stereo mode. I have a 13 speaker system in the basement in my theater room but my wife and I are primarily using the two channel system powered by the Yamaha. Very impressed with both music as well as movies.

Really like the soind quality. Worth it to get a 7.1 since it supports dolby whereas getting a 5.1 on yamaha does not.

This receiver sounds great. I cannot recommend it yet because it feels as it is unfinished. A lot of the bells and whistles won't work until a future firmware update is made available. When using ARC it always defaults to TV input when turning on regardless of signal. This is super annoying and almost a deal breaker. If this gets a fix and future firmware arrives in a timely manner it may move this to a 4-5 star rating.

For the first year, it was a great receiver. It replaced a Yamaha that we have had for over a decade. Unfortunately, this one only lasted a year before we got the red light of death. We have now brought back in the ole trusty receiver in the interim. Luckily the new one is still under warranty so we will be sending it out to be repaired or replaced. The quality of products are not what they use to be. Hopefully this is not a yearly occurrence.

I have tried Sony, Onkyo and Denon looking for a receiver that not only has the newest features but enough power to run a 7.1 Klipsch speaker setup with the grunt to really give me the powerful concert level sound pressure when I want it but also be able to play normal TV and movies well and I have to say this is the one it's rated at 100 watts per channel but definitely punches way above that and has all the features I want I'm telling you this is the one and it's got a good price at $650.00 out the door. look no further this is the one the menu is a little bit complicated but once you get used to it this is the one!!!
