We like this Yamaha receiver much better than the Sony we had because it allows the speakers to sound much clearer!!! You can understand the words in the shows much better!! Only trouble was setting it up. Had to Yamaha on the phone to adjust the volume in the settings.

connection was a breeze and use is easy. Our old AV receiver stopped powering some of our surround speakers and this one was bought to fix that issue. Works perfectly!

This receiver is awesome. For the price and features how can you go wrong. Perfect for future proofing for a while. Had to return it bcuz the HDMI 2.1 features are coming with a further update. They’ve been saying this for a while now. Waiting for the update so I can rebuy

Excellent budget 7.2 Dolby Atmos receiver with many features of more expensive models. Some features will be available in future firmware updates. Also, HDMI switching is a bit buggy (which should also be addressed in future firmware updates). So, not completely baked yet but still a great sounding receiver with many features beyond its price point.

Core of my MusicCast streaming audio system

I use it as the core unit of a whole-house MusicCast streaming audio system, with two satellite units and speakers in five rooms. My entire house is one connected audio system, including the 5.1 system for my TV. While there are some occasional hick-ups with linking the units, the system is overall stable and with great audio quality, way above Sonos. Highly recommended.

Got this as a geek squad open box. Great value. I like the versatility with zone 2 speaker setup and musicast app. Setup (software) can be confusing, but it eventually “works”. Overall, pleased with the product and Best Buy.

Was kinda buggy at first but I bought it right when it was released and most of that has been fixed through firmware. I use it to a projector though so my setup is simple. I dunno if they fixed the 4k 120 yet but that's no big deal to me as of right now. Sound quality is really good but doesn't go super loud. I upgraded from a basic 2007 onkyo reciever so it was a huge upgrade for me.

I'm still figuring out the feature set, since Thanksgiving was a break after just attaching it to my current system. The downloaded user guide is more helpful than the quickstart guide, especially with a variety of devices attached to my old receiver.

I bought the Yamaha RXV6A to replace a 10 year old Sony receiver. The Yamaha was a step up and after a few attempts to set it up, I finally got it working correctly. The sound is clear and dynamic. I love the bluetooth and the ability to use it as a transmitter to send output to my bluetooth speakers on my patio.

My old receiver finally kicked the bucket so figured we'd upgrade to 7.2. The instructions are a little too vague and you can't update all the settings from the app. In order to see all the settings, you have to connect the HDMI output to the TV. Would have been nice to know that in the instructions. Produces great sound and the internet capabilities are really neat. I can control the unit from my phone.

I've worked with all the receiver brands but Yamaha has more extensive control settings and features than all the others. Plus they've been very reliable over the years. Can't go wrong with them.

Bought this as a splurge because I was building my ultimate home theater. Had nothing but problems with it. Kept dropping signal to my cable box over and over. I should have returned it but it was such a pain to install and set up I tried to just endure it. It seems like the HDMI ports finally failed completely after a couple of years, a couple of months after my extended warranty ended. Pretty much a worst case scenario and BestBuy Total was hilariously useless during all of it. Very low quality tech support, always told they can't help, can't send anyone, don't know what to do. They just do everything they can to not help you and get you off the phone or tell you to just "bring your HT setup into store". Zero common sense going on here. BestBuy Totaltech used to be pretty good but it just seems like a scam now. The receiver was surprisingly low quality. I was really expecting more from a premium receiver with great reviews.

The Yamaha RX-V6A had everything I was looking for in an upgrade to my 10 year old Yamaha receiver. HDMI 2.1 with all of the gaming functionality, Dolby Vision and Atmos, 4k 120Hz. The basic setup was fairly easy. By default, the receiver will switch back to the TV input when it detects a signal on ARC. This can only be disabled if you have eARC. It took a little while for me to find the right setting for this. My first unit came damaged from shipping. Exchanged it in store for another, and it is great.
