Yamaha fail

This new gen yamaha has extreme noise distortion, the voices are really low compared to the music and background noise. You have to almost max out the volume in order to hear the tv, and at that point the quality of the sound is so bad. I dint know what happened but this is a def fail from yamaha. I went immediately and exchanged fir another receiver.

Set up/Operation is a bit complex (seems to be the case for all new audio-visual equipment). Primary purpose for the purchase was to upgrade my current receiver to pass through 4K content, and this is working without an issue.

HDMI out failure within 2 weeks

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We had the same issue as other reviewers with failure soon after putting it into service for HDMI. That said, for our surround sound in 2 zones this worked great. 2 weeks after getting a new Samsung 4K QLED to match up with this new receiver, HDMI out suddenly stops working. Audio functionality is great, but will pass no video at all. Tested HDMI cables and TV, which eliminated issues with source, cable or TV... tried hard reset of AVR, network updates, nothing worked. Guessing that it has a bad HDMI board. My other complaint is that MusicCast pairing was unstable, dropped connections three times in so many weeks requiring re-connecting—which wasn’t consistent and required many tries. This is very difficult compared to our other Yamaha receiver which paired well on the first try and hasn’t been an issue since. Too bad, new stuff from Yamaha is just not ready for the market. First time BestBuy has sold me a lemon. It was otherwise good while it lasted.
