||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am giving this one star simply because I feel I was somewhat tricked into purchasing. I bought a tv for my mom. At that time we were asked if we wanted the extended warranty. When quoted the price, we were told $180. She said yes. We were not told and I did not notice until getting an email that what we actually purchased was a *BB Plus* membership for $50 and then 5 year geek squad protection for $130. While it does total the $180 quoted, the store failed to mention that the $50 is a yearly fee that will continue every year to be charged to my card until I cancel. I feel that that should have been more straight forward.

Employees lied to us about plus membership benefit

About 12 people with me in line for today’s Pokemon release were all told that the purchase limit is doubled with a plus membership. At checkout we were only allowed one and then had to go to the back of line. None of us were able to receive our second item. We all purchased the plus membership with the understanding that this would be a benefit for Pokemon releases.

I bought one big ticket item and the membership at the same time - it provided a big enough discount on the item that I came out ahead. Since then, I've used it once. It might be good for a regular Best Buy shopper, but I don't plan on renewing

Could not use the reward certificate that purchase earned because it expired before Best Buy IT could correct problems with my new account and one that was still in their system from a purchase made over a decade ago.
